Hi bennytwin I hope and wish you a safe one with this one, please talk to your gynaecologist and be sure he’s a good one and that also the facility you use is a good one, equally ask him if he can refer you to a perinatologist (you shouldn’t be asking because he ought to have done this).
Due to my blood pressure last pregnancy I had to see both obgyn & a maternal fetal specialist(Perinatologist) which may be what you need and will definitely take a dip in your pocket but it’s for the best.
E-hugs to you and please be sure to nip the issue in the bud so as to prevent a reoccurrence of such and please don’t stress yourself in the process. Cheers! 1 Like |

I m shaking as I type because I just spotted few mins ago at 5 weeks and some days.
I have prayed, cried and everything.
I can't do scan now because heartbeat can't even be detected now.
The last one I lost there was detection of heart beat at 6 weeks plus 5 days,yet I lost him at 8 weeks and 5 days even with taking duphaston

The type of latex in unripe papaya should be avoided by pregnant women because: It might trigger marked uterine contractions, leading to early labor. It contains papain which your body may mistake for the prostaglandins sometimes used to induce labor. It may also weaken vital membranes that support the fetus. Although I think it still boils down on different body types. |

You might have cholestasis. It occurs when the flow of bile from your liver is reduced or blocked. I had serious itching with my first child to the extent that I was using cold water straight from the fridge to bathe to calm the itch. It can be quite serious in pregnancy if not monitored. Talk to your doctor, get them to run a test and see if your levels are elevated. They might be able to prescribe something. This cholestasis should not be taken lightly at all! There is a huge risk of infant mortality if untreated and/or if baby stays till full term. I just stumbled on this last week during my research as to what could cause itching in pregnancy. Had itching on my legs/hands and immediately saw my OBGYN to complain. She ordered a blood test ASAP. Everything came out fine and the itching subsided the next day. |

God help me for I m lost I’m deeply sorry you had to go through three losses, I pray that this pregnancy is here to stay this time around, amen! I see you’re on progesterone which is great and that the reason for the previous miscarriages are not yet known. I’m not a doctor by any means but some women have this issue where their bodies see foetuses as foreign bodies and their antibodies go on overdrive to expel the ‘foreign matter’. Doctors typically would issue medications to temporarily reduce the body’s immunity so the antibodies don’t ‘fight’ the foetus. During your hospital visits, I don’t think it would hurt to mention this to your doc so they can run tests to see if this could be the case in your situation. I know prednisone is one of the drugs used to achieve this purpose. Speak with your doc, ask questions and advocate for yourself. It is well with you sis! 1 Like |

Suspend activities that require bending, swinging of hands. If possible try a bed rest in the hospital. Keep ur emotions stable, pray and be positive. Best wishes ma. I was a first class witness of a my wife delivery session and my resolution is that mothers need to be adequately taken care of. We registered for ante natal at both private and government hospital here in Lagos. One thing I observed about general hospital is that they advertise CS to their patients which I am not really cool with. My wife met a consultant at general hospital and the consultant was persuading her to go for CS without even asking us to go for a pelvic test. On the other hand the private hospital also gives us words of encouragement. My wife opted for the private hospital and she delivered without going through knives and scissors. I’ll be itching like crazy. Crying. Rolling on the floor. To the extent that I was using cortisone itch cream as my body lotion to calm the itch. The maddening part is that this thing flares up at night when I’m tired and ready to sleep. I was never able to sleep and that was the reason I had to get induced. My OB got scared and told me “let’s get this baby out.” If it’s that bad that she’s getting scars on her body, it’s time to see the doctor and get some tests done. 1 Like |
