I am sorry about the way I asked it. I actually need information on schools in US that I can apply to for admission and get full funding as well sir.

Oh! But next time why asking a question like that drop your GPA, publications/ presentations, awards, GRE score and TOEFL/ IELTS score so as to have a picture of your profile. No one can help until you help yourself with that. Best!

You have a decent GPA. However, a strong 2:1 or a first class would have been really nice. You should start preparing for the GRE and ace it well. Also, check Google for free Wes iGPA calculator to get an estimate of your GPA on a 4.0 scale. You have lots of work to do. Start now. All the best!

This is just like saying someone should stand as a collateral to collect loans from First Bank....lol! Do you think it will be easy for a random person to do that? And not to talk of USA that everyone wants to keep a clean record. God works wonders though!

I dot have a Phd yet. (quote author=Tayoade19 post=102706072]

Congrats on your admit with full funding. Have you considered applying for F2 visa instead of F1? Did you fill it in your DS 160 form that you already had a PhD degree? If yes, you may be asked by the VO about why you are going for another PhD program. If you have research experience, you can look for schools in the US that can take you into their postdoc fellowship programs. If your husband has funding, he can request that your own i20 for dependents should be sent to you and then you can apply for F2 visa with that. Those are the other options you have, however since you have admission with full funding and you have applied for F1 visa interview, just be hopeful that your next F1 visa interview will be successful.[/quote]

Fill another ds160 form. You will have a new number assigned to u. Use it when booking appointment.

For those that have already book re d an appointment, just update your profile on cgifederal (visa appointment portal) , and reprint a new appointment confirmation carrying the new ds number.

Note: dont forget to also reprint your new ds confirmation letter and make sure all these are done latest 3days to your interview date.

Congratulations on your admission.

1. You'll need to pay your SEVIS FEE (350USD)
2. Pay your VISA FEE (160USD #67,200 equivalent) at any GTBANK branch near you...the official Embassy rate is #420.
Tell the banker you're paying for F-1 VISA
Go along with your international passport.

3. You'll need to apply for the US VISA by filling the form called DS-160.
Be as truthful as possible and always save your progress because you'll most likely be logged out after some minutes of inactivity.
4. Apply for a Visa Interview (either Lagos or Abuja).
5. Prepare and attend your interview.
6. Get your Visa.

PS. Get to know all the documents required for the interview beforehand and get them ready.

Wish you success

Please I already sent my sponsor SOA and have received the i-20 form but I want to change my sponsor sent initial, would that be possible? And would that also not affect my chances of getting another i-20?

Why do you want to change your sponsor, please?

If I'm correct, your sponsor's SOA which you sent to your school for your i-20 doesn't reflect on your i-20.
Some schools group it as Family Funds or personal funds. Some others write the name as seen on the SOA while some write your relationship with the person (e.g. mother, father, aunt, uncle).

If stated otherwise on your i-20, kindly say.

If it was stated as family funds, and your new sponsor is family, you can change (not on your i-20 because there's nothing to be changed) but for your interview at the Embassy/Consulate.

However, be ready to defend convincingly your relationship with him/her and why he/she will part with such funds for your education.
You need to know what he/she does for a living and other information about his/her business and nuclear family (e.g. number of staff if it applies, job description and position, number of children, etc.)
Not like all these must be asked. It's better to prepare and not being asked than to be asked when you're not prepared.
