First, ESN is not a militant group, they are just vigilant group guarding the SEern forests. And I don't think you are conversant with the event here. Make your research, ESN was doing a good job of pursuing Fulani herdsmen terrorists out of SEern forests, which was why the ES was named the most peaceful region in Nigeria.
