Iwantpeace:Well-done mama. Please don't be depressed. Its possible he isn't latching well and not getting milk from your breast hence the frustration. If you are able to express enough to feed him then you're making enough milk so the latching might be the culprit. Is your nipple inverted? Get a nipple shield if it is. Else you have to learn to get him to latch properly. Watch this video on how to get your baby to latch and remember to start off when baby isn't hungry. Also stop feeding him with bottle. The milk will flow faster from the bottle nipple so getting the milk slower from your nipple will annoy him (nipple confusion). You can keep expressing but feed him with a spoon and cup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjt-Ashodw8 5 Likes 1 Share |

Joshua62:Pele daddy. Please stop the tixylix....cough syrups are not recommended for children below 5yrs old. Did they check his chest for clear breathing? Did they run a blood test for infection or malaria? 1 Like |

Iwantpeace: Nipple shields is like a feeding bottle that you wear on your nipple. Express a little milk into the end of the shield so that milk will enter his mouth once he starts sucking. After some time, you take it off for him to suck directly. Another tip is to breastfeed him when he is not too hungry because he might not be too patient to suckle on the breast when he’s very hungry. 3 Likes |

Iwantpeace: Don't give up mama. Your situation is the same as mine. My baby will be 8 weeks tomorrow. He refused to suckle directly so I had to express and feed. I also offered formula. I never gave up trying though. My baby finally accepted on sunday. So we started our breastfeeding journey at 7 weeks!!! Keep putting him to breast for a while, if he starts to struggle real hard, you can let him be so he doesn't hate the move. Cheer up mama, everything will be fine. 1 Like |

Please what can we use? Is there fever? Mine had same, i took her to hospital, her doctor examined and prescribed Tuxil-N for children (2.5ml) 3times a day (morning, afternoon and night and vitamin c syrup thrice daily (morning, afternoon and evening). I also steamed her using metholatum (bcoz it is not harsh like aboniki) and also applied on her chest, sides and feet. Please take her to hospital. |

Nkemosarodion65: Haaa, biko leave it till 1year, I cut my daughter's hair when she was six months bcoz It looked funny as in no hair for back and sides, na only front hair dey, when I took her for immunization, both doctor and nurses gave me federal warning. They said the hair protects the head from cold. So mummy if you don't want to receive your own federal warning don't cut till 1 year. 4 Likes |

Hahaha... hello mommaz. How are you all? Been a minute! How’s our LOs doing? Hope all is under control. Stay strong o. Am struggling with cutting DD hair. Shes close to 14months now, hair grew well all round. I wanted to skip the whole 1yr barb thingy since hers is full. However, her edges seems to be cutting suddenly and am forced to consider cutting. I’ve used ori and coconut oil for her hair with occasional aloe Vera steaming. I don’t know if someone knows good growth creams that can restore her edges or I should just close eyes and shave it off clean? Did any mom here skip the 1year barb? Did u wish you hadn’t? Or the hair went on to be just fine? Thanks. Update: DS isn’t still talking much. No mommy, daddy or nothing constant. Am trying to be patient but I dunno. Maybe I’ll consider Speech therapy by beginning of next month. Does anyone know a good speech therapist that produce results within a short time frame? An honest one too. Moms that have gone the speech therapy route for delayed speech, how was the journey? Thanks. |

amSteph:My friends wife didn't cut her daughters hairs at 1year cos they both came with a full head of hair and the hair is still full and healthy looking. On your DS and speech therapy, if there indeed is a problem, early intervention is necessary. These formative years is when they learn speech and add on with academics and everyother thing afterwards...don't let a speech delay requiring therapy linger for too long so it doesn't affect academics. But he needs to be assessed by a speech and language pathologist to ascertain the need for intervention and what intervention is required. (...some non verbal kids start talking after certain foods are eliminated from their diet.) On how long therapy will take, it depends on how early you start and the home support he gets from you parents too. A resource you can try in the interim is Gemiini.org. Depending on your location, I have the contact of a licensed speech and language pathologist to help with the assessment. 1 Like 1 Share |

sugah:Thank you momma. Good to hear about the healthy hair void of the 1year traditional cut. If only I knew the right kiddies hair food to rejuvenate her front edges. I’m located at Awoyaya. I don’t mind at all pls. I’m open to getting professional opinions. He’s just non-verbal as u put it. Everything other aspect is pretty much okay. |
