We are not buying a CDM. Ole obviously does not want to play the lone DM formation all y’all are raving about. It’s 4-2-3-1 next season.

Even this 4231 formation functions best with a DM as part of the pivot so the other player can comfortably be a box to box enforcer. We struggle with this formation because neither Fred, Pogba or McTominay can do the job of a DM properly. Matic's legs are gone else he would have played that role perfectly.

So whether Ole wants to continue with 4231 or not, we need a proper DM.
