Dear Pastor, Those who say the loudest amen don’t get the fastest answer. God does not look at volume of prayer. He looks at volume of faith. Stop telling your congregation their amen is not loud enough for God. Raise their faith, not their voice! The fastest prayer ever answered in Scripture was by the woman with the issue of blood. She did not even speak. She did not even say amen. “she said WITHIN HERSELF, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole”-Matthew 9:21. God is looking for loud faith, not loud amen! 1 Like |

JONSYN7154:It is indeed a sin against God to pray out loud and also to pray where you can be seen doing so. 1 Like 1 Share |

Kobojunkie: Acts 4:24 (KJV) 24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them . . .. .31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. 3 Likes 1 Share |

petra1:Well, if you are decided to follow the examples of the disciples as written of in the book of acts, that is fine for you, but doesn't change the Truth of God which is that praying out loud and even praying where you are seen by others doing so...is a sin against God. Here is a summary of sorts of some of the New Covenant teachings and commandments given by Jesus Christ where Prayer is concerned - please be sure to * Ask, Seek and Knock, in order to receive, find and have the door opened to you Matthew 7 vs 7 * Pray continously. I.e. don't stop asking, seeking, knocking until you have recieved, found and had the door opened to you Matthew 21 vs 22 & Luke 18 vs 1- 8 * Avoid vain repetitions in order that you not sin against God because God knows what you want even before you ask Him Matthew 6 vs 7 - 8 * Always pray in secret and in hiding as not doing so is against God Matthew 6 vs 6 * Pray the Lord's prayer- Matthew 6 vs 9- 13 * Forgive everyone who has hurt or offended you before you pray so your father in Heaven will forgive you your sins- Matthew 11 vs 25 & Matthew 6 vs 12 * Always approach God in Humility- Luke 18 vs 9 - 4 * Believe that you have received what you ask for and it shall be done for you Matthew 21 vs 22 & Mark 11 vs 24 * Ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ John 15 vs 16 * If you abide in Him and He, Jesus, abides in you, then He, Jesus Christ , will do whatever you ask in His name John 14 vs 13-14 & john 15 vs 7 * Pray for your enemies - Matthew 5 vs 44 & Luke 6 vs 27- 28 * Ask God for the Holy Spirit - Luke 11 vs 13 & Matthew 7 vs 11 As Jesus Christ said, those who love Him are, not those who go around mouthing off that they do, but instead those who submit to and obey His teachings- John 14 vs 23 - 26. 1 Like |

Kobojunkie: when you find yourself in comflict eith the bible you meed to check your theology. secondly there are different kinds of prayers. There is a differnt between personal devotion and corporate prayer. You can't know jesus more than the apostles of christ who prayed openly. 1 Timothy 2:8 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. How can you say amen when someone prays in a prayer of agreement withouy hearinng his voice ? 1 Corinthians 14:16 (AMPC) 16 Otherwise, if you bless and render thanks with [your] spirit [thoroughly aroused by the Holy Spirit], how can anyone in the position of an outsider or he who is not gifted with [interpreting of unknown] tongues, say the Amen to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? 2 Likes 1 Share |

petra1:Jesus Christ Himself told you that His friends are those do as He commands - John 15 vs 14 Jesus Christ NEVER commanded you or anyone to do as His apostles did. His instructions have always been that you do as He commands. In Matthew 7 vs 24 - 29, Jesus Christ tells you in study that whoever Jesus and obeys His teachings is like a wise man who builds His house on rock...whereas whoever hears His teachings but does not obey is like a foolish man who builds his house on sand. When the storms, floods and winds come, guess which house will stand? Never exchange the Truth of God, Jesus Christ, for theology... Jesus Christ Himself warned you that all of that are lies where He is concerned - Matthew 15 vs - 14 These are taken directly from the teachings of Jesus Christ as written down in the Gospels. If you dont agree with them, then you should forward your complaints directly to Jesus Christ, the one whose Word it is. * Ask, Seek and Knock, in order to receive, find and have the door opened to you Matthew 7 vs 7 * Pray continously. I.e. don't stop asking, seeking, knocking until you have recieved, found and had the door opened to you Matthew 21 vs 22 & Luke 18 vs 1- 8 * Avoid vain repetitions in order that you not sin against God because God knows what you want even before you ask Him Matthew 6 vs 7 - 8 * Always pray in secret and in hiding as not doing so is against God Matthew 6 vs 6 * Pray the Lord's prayer- Matthew 6 vs 9- 13 * Forgive everyone who has hurt or offended you before you pray so your father in Heaven will forgive you your sins- Matthew 11 vs 25 & Matthew 6 vs 12 * Always approach God in Humility- Luke 18 vs 9 - 4 * Believe that you have received what you ask for and it shall be done for you Matthew 21 vs 22 & Mark 11 vs 24 * Ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ John 15 vs 16 * If you abide in Him and He, Jesus, abides in you, then He, Jesus Christ , will do whatever you ask in His name John 14 vs 13-14 & john 15 vs 7 * Pray for your enemies - Matthew 5 vs 44 & Luke 6 vs 27- 28 * Ask God for the Holy Spirit - Luke 11 vs 13 & Matthew 7 vs 11 |

Kobojunkie: jesus himself prayed openly with his disciples. Hence they were able to write down the content of his prayers. John 17:1 (KJV Strong's) 1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: There are different kimds of Prayers There is prayer of Petition There is prayer of Agreement There is prayer of Supplication There is prayer of Intercessions There is prayer of Faith There is prayer of IMPRECATION There is prayer of Worship all these are different from personal devotion. when jesus said to pray in your closeth . its about personal devotion. its between you and God. jesus departed alone to the mountain to do that. but when it comes to other kinds of prayers it is done openly especially Prayer of agreement . when Jesus carried 3 disciples to pray. it wasnt a quiet prayer. He prayed liud to the point of sweating remember when your theology is in comflict with the bible dobt condemn the verses . rather check your theology. 1 Like |

petra1:That same Jesus Christ that prayed openly while teaching you told you that you should obey His His commandments proclaiming that is by doing that that you show you indeed love Him - John 14 vs 23- 26 These are taken directly from the teachings of Jesus Christ as written down in the Gospels. Kobojunkie: all the long scriptures has nothing to do with silent praying |
Re: Dear Pastors by Myer(m): 7:01am On Jun 28, 2021 |
petra1: Before another argument starts, can we just agree that both of you are right? The problem always starts when the bible says different things in different situations. As Kobojunkie rightly quoted, praying out loud even though it's not a sin, Jesus taught that it was unacceptable. Jesus himself always said his prayers in a secluded place. He only gave thanks and blessed God publicly. And as you rightly pointed, there were occasions where as a congregation the early disciples prayed with a loud voice too. What then? In personal prayers,it shouldn't be made public as God seems to see it as a show-off and an act of self-righteousness. For corporate prayers apparently that cannot be silent. What we get from this is that Jesus was addressing the intent of the person praying. It should not be an act of for Self-righteousness. Interestingly during the time of Jesus, we do not have any record of a loud corporate prayer. Even at Gethsenane, Jesus never told he disciples to pray out loud, he simply urged them to pray. It was when the fell asleep during prayer that was an issue. Now to OP. You're very right,Jesus, neither Jesus nor the apostles mentioned that the person "with the loudest Amen" would get an answered prayer. Pastors who sought to engage their congregation either with the intention of getting a feedback or self-aggrandization made that up. So you're very right about that. No where in the bible did Jesus or the apostles seek the person with the loudest Anen. All they sought was the person with Faith. Cos it was not about them, but about your Faith in God and his vessel. |

petra1:Why would all the long scriptures be about praying in secret and in hidden place who you are clearly told what each passage teaches in regards to prayer? |
Re: Dear Pastors by Kobojunkie: 7:08am On Jun 28, 2021 |
Myer:Praying out loud is against God .i.e. a sin Prayng out in open where you can be seen by others is against God .i.e. sin. Using vain repetitions when praying, like the gentiles do, is against God .I.e. sin |

Kobojunkie: why did the bible say it is a sin Do you mean Jesus and the Apostles Sinned? |
Re: Dear Pastors by Kobojunkie: 1:06pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
petra1:The Bible did not say it is a sin, Jesus Christ, God's Law and Word , did. Jesus Christ, who lived His life to fulfill the Old Covenant , also made it clear to you that if you love Him, you will do as He commands of you. And His commandments are clear where it concerns prayer. And yes, if the apostles did not do as He commanded of them, they sinned against Him since sin is disobedience of God's direct commandment. You should be asking Him these questions since He also said that He alone is the only Teacher for everyone of those who belong to Him. |
