Add that to corrupt FA across the continent and the players don't trust which lead protest , Nigeria players refused to train for their match against france because of unpaid bonuses

We can't defend against set pieces neither can we score them

We are quite poor tactically in football and most sports for that matter

Today's performance by the Swiss is the result of hours upon hours of tactical analysis and meticulous planning. How does Rohr and his team prepare for matches? Do they perform hours of video analysis? Is there a team that sits down and brainstorms tactical approaches?

Or is just kick ball and inshallah?

African team still have the same problem at world level , we can't defend set piece especially a corner kick and we lose concentration in dying minutes , European teams tend to do better in that area

What baffles me most is dt most of our players and oda African players are trained and coached under d same terrain with dier European/south american counterpart, yet dey can't replicate dis high level of organization when dey come back home to rep us as been shown in deir various clubs dereby making school boy errors, losing concentration @ dying minute, not converting deir dead balls situations etc abi shey dis oyinbo coaches dey reformat our players psyche b4 coming here to rep us sad

Look at how well drilled small countries like Denmark, Czech, Croatia and Austria are.... I mean pound for pound, player for player , we are far better than them

But I put it to you guys that if were to meet them in these Euros, these small teams will beat us silly... No Caps

Quite frankly

I really don't know where Africa football problems is

Is it coaching?

Is it FAs?

Is it the Environment?

Is it the fans?

You people have started with your amnesia. Iceland that used to be well drilled (at least in 2016 euros) didn't we beat them?

The grassroots is the problem with training facilities even professional club in Nigeria don't have the necessary training facilities or equipment

Chei grin See fan base na. Funny enough super eagles always find it a bit easier beating all these mid-level European teams. If we are to play both Switzerland and Venezuela and I'm told to bet on the one we'll win, I'll put my money on us beating Switzerland

They are European teams, they play each other every now and then you can't expect the big boys to always win, the last time Switzerland beat France was in 92.

Picture of the Euros so far. What a moment. What a save, Yann Sommer.
(Had to wait a few secs before running off to begin this legendary celebration. A moment and a match that will go down in history as one of the greatest games of the Euros).

P.S: As I watched in my sitting room and saw Mbappe walking up as the final spot kick taker for France, I just knew Mbappe was gonna miss. Lad still has some growing up to do. Reckless with some of his attempts. Still a fine player but like Chief Icon4s would say, "Not there yet" grin

Part of our problem is we allow Europeans to dictate what a good player is for us.
We Africans need to play our Unique African style and express ourselves. We did it under Westerhoof
Nwakali bossed atletico Madrid midfield but we think he is not good. I'm sure nwakali will boss Pogba in midfield and shock everybody.

I think its because those teams are much more lax when playing against us. Iceland was so well drilled against Argentina and drew with them whereas we picked them apart.

I would not call him spoilt. He has put in the work so far to get to this point but in this game, he and his teammates got a little too cocky especially after Pogba's goal went in. Mbappe had a few chances to bury the game but he just chose to try make things look pretty. Almost always overthinking his decisions and moments to finish off a move. He needs to be more wickedly decisive if he intends to live up to his mad potentials and match the achievements of the greats.

The quality of footy displayed today by these European teams was amazing.
Fortunately for African teams, this tournament has shown that most of these European teams have only few elite/world-class players.
They are definitely beatable.
Most of these teams will struggle against Morrocco, Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Ghana.

There is away this even mid level teams play

They play the big teams to win...teams like ukraine, Hungary, Switzerland, Sweden etc

They dont play to draw or out of fear....

I doubt if any africa team can play france wit the mentality the Swiss played...the teams are so organized even teams like N. Macedonia
Africa teams really have a long way to go

Even the south Americans with what i am seeing in this euros they may not smell the world cup in years to come... football really dwells in Europe.

If the so many European coaches like rohr cant organize africa teams in mentality and composure to play the way this Europeans play then they have got no business being in africa. Thats why they were hired

Some of our players cant even make simple passes...and during play they can get lost in the game

We really have a long way to go. Wish they can sit down and watch their mates play beautiful football

Europe are better for sure ,it’s just that the few South Americans power house are at the top

Take a look at the best national teams since 2010 and you can see 4 South American teams there from their small continent

Argentina is not good as before for sure but you can’t just say Switzerland will beat them common ,Argentina made it to the World Cup finals recently

Belgium beat Brazil well ,was it 5-0 ?

England only beat Colombia on penalties

Uruguay also beat Portugal

South Americans no plenty but the wahala too much

The ranking is important ,it’s not FIFA rankings it’s just how teams have been good on tournament since 2010

The pitch is the only difference here. The last time I checked none of the wing forward in this tournament is better than Mane/Salah/Mahrez, none of the right-backs is better than Hakimi. The defenders have been atrocious, anyone better than Koulibaly? We Africans with inferiority complex. If you argue about the quality of the pitch no problem but the quality of football is at par with top African teams.
