The only reasonable thing I took away from this is the Dr Obaseki now realises that Nigeria is dead. Nigeria will never be restructured and its constitution will never be changed The only thing he is still failing to understand is that whatever options he has cannot be realised without Igbos. The 65 ethnic nationalities he says are in the so called Niger Delta, will never be united enough to fight for a common cause because they are too fragmented and disjointed, far worse than Igbos or Yorubas are 4 Likes 1 Share |

Now that they know the call for restructuring has become too loud specifically from the southern region they won’t return power to the South. An average aboki believe restructuring means depriving them of their benefits from the South which they will never admit 2 Likes |

isokomarine:that is the problem. Every one of them is kinda calm now because they have a common enemy but from time to time they still draw swords. Even when you restructure, that's when the battle of the minorities will commence. I still think it's better to restructure along ethnic lines so a cluster of groups that speak similar language can be together to avoid people complaining about marginalization. |

gaetano: But isn’t this funny when you think about it? The fact that a country must be split into peoples that speak the same language, seems like such a foreign concept to Nigerians, after the British came and joined vastly different people together. The British just came and drew map for black men, not considering any implications but focused on profit only, but the same black man that was conquered still upholds the arbitrary maps. It’s like if an armed robber came and broke the fence in your house, thus joining you and your neighbors compounds. When the robbers leave, won’t you want to build back your wall? It’s funny how people think that a country with so many tribes can move in the one direction, almost like giving all passengers in a plane access to their own flight stick and expecting the plane to fly a correct course. The Igbo passengers want to go left, the Yorubas right, the hausas... and so on. I wonder what the proponents of one Nigeria use as strong justification for the conquest by the British. Weak points raised are, we have been together long so let’s manage and bla bla bla... manage till when exactly? You guys don’t even speak the same language for the most part. When you ask most countries what language they speak, they majorly give one major language and maybe a minor to account for immigrants, but come to Nigeria and ask what language do you guys speak and you are bombarded with a whole slew of languages, almost like how the Tower of Babel was struck down and different languages where cast on the builders THEREBY CAUSING CONFUSION. Nigeria is confused fundamentally, and that is because she was a conquered territory. It is up to the inhabitants that are now free to decide how they want to progress. 1 Like |

gidgiddy: Once the good doctor understands that the Niger Delta itself as currently packaged, was created by the north, the better for him. The current Niger Delta was created as a permanent anti-Igbo entity, that is why from time to time, this trait rears its ugly head, as we witnessed just a few months ago, in Oyigbo LGA, the most oil-laden LGA in Nigeria, which happens to be Igbo-speaking. Some Igbo-speaking groups in the so called Niger delta, have way more in common with the Igbos, than they do with any other group in the Niger delta. The Ibom Republic proposed by Ibibios and Annangs, in spite of its deficiencies, is a more natural union than any proposed Niger Delta Republic. NDR belongs to just the Ijaws and no one else. The fact that he is talking about some Bill of Rights for the Niger delta ethnic groups, has already introduced a shallow artificiality to the whole concept. Bill of Rights is just a piece of paper. Genetic bonds are more binding than any Bill of Rights, no matter the good intentions behind such bill of rights. |

we have to allow ethnic groups to start discussing their future and state what type of govt, economic strategy, constitution , natural resources control, they would adopt and peaceful external relations with other tribes. This Unitary system or scam Federalization of majors should cease for indigenous rule and transition. Nigeria should never be not by force but discussion. kingdoms existed independently before British came. we can organise our tribes peacefully. Akin to -1960 independent regional govts. but watchout those resisting this. They have some greedy, wicked motive. mostly of jihadist mindset. Those who scattered many kingdoms 1800s by islamic conquest and those who are feeding fat from unitary system in 2021 Even Great Britain allowed some caliphates to continue and also payed for parts of south in pounds. And handed over in 1960. They however fought fiercely Benin kingdom and Yoruba Lagos, Jaja of Opobo. Nigeria need to restart our original political civilizations again after separating onto an ethnic map. Immigration should be to international standards. no area boys mentality involved. But diplomatic meeting at UN level. we have to allow ethnic groups to start discussing their future and state what type of govt, economic strategy constitution , natural resources trol they would adopt and peaceful external relations with other tribes. No marginalization or born to conquer. Unitary system or scam Federalization should transit for indigenous rule respectively for over 50 + language groups. nigeria should never be by force but by discussion. kingdoms existed independently before British came. we can organise our tribes peacefully. but watch out for those resisting this. OfoIgbo: Dont get it twisted, Oyigbo, or rather, its ancestral name, Obigbo, is not Igbo speaking, it is Igbo land. It was just one of the several parts of Igbo land that was carved into Rivers state from Imo state during the useless boundary adjustment program of the 70's |

Born2Breed:good morning L&G. Sincerely , English grammer or interpretation should not be our problem. or is it delibrated deception or stubborness? Have we mis-conceived the meaning of the word " Federal" in Federal Republic of Nigeria.? and Demo -cracy which is people's rule? we are not doing the right thing: especially President Buhari. In 1960, Federal Govt was only vested with some responsibities by the sovereign states not an over bearing power to lord over the 'indigenous' states and federating units. a care taker cannot be stronger than an appointed care taker. cecession and consequent round table friendly re-negociation is now necesarry for respect and justice and development of the people |
