God is the greatest and He came through for me!!!

1st Application: 29th Jan 2021
Submitted with upfront medicals and NSE requirements. After sending several mails and webforms as well as applying for my GCMS notes on 16th of April. I received my notes on the 17th of May with the VO’s concern about having lumpsums in our joint account.
Refusal: 27th May 2021 (Purpose of visit & personal assets and financial]

2nd Application: 31st May 2021
Background check started immediately and eligibility started on the 3rd of June. I noticed my Medical was not updated and sent a webform with my e-medical sheet.

My special appreciation goes to God that made my dreams come to reality. He deserves all the glory. I also want to appreciate @JustMellow (gcmswriters) for his guidance and prompt approach in handling my LOE. I reached out to him when I received my notes thinking I could explain the lumpsums before a decision was made but refusal came some days after. JustMellow assisted in writing my LOE to address the financial concerns as well as reconstruct my SOP to address purpose of visit (studied engineering but going for business management course). God bless you and cause his face to shine upon you. Going for a 2yr PG certificate.
Thank you to everyone for their selfless contributions on this thread. The advices, comments and testimonies kept me going even when it looked like all hope was lost. Thank you for the congratulatory messages. God bless you all.

PS: I was able to reapply 3 days after my initial refusal because I already had my GCMS notes and had addressed the concerns in my LOE. All PPR hopefuls will testify soon by God’s grace.
Congratulations ma. Did you do another upfront medicals or did you use the former one you had since medicals is for 1 year.

It is, so as to focus more on other candidates. And moreover, it will not take any from you if you inform your agent.

No, you don't have to be enrolled before you travel. Enrollment letter is asked for mainly because students have started classes at their home country. If your classes or registration has not started, please take your letter of acceptance with you. Also, if you have been given admission and you have your PPR, check with your school for webinars for new students. They have all this information and you can always get clarity from the international students office.

From the info I gathered, due to Covid, you are not advised to enter Canada more than 4 weeks before classes start. So if your class starts in September, 1st to 2nd week in August is a good time to travel, so you can quarantine, if you are not fully vaccinated.

LJF11:

Where did you get this information from, people are travelling but you must be enrolled ,the Canadian website didn't say it ought to be 4 weeks, rather you even need to leave like 3 weeks for quarantine Incase you get infected during transit , what time do you even now have to settle before school resumption? Just make sure you are enrolled

It's not on the MBS list. Usually, IRCC sends them a letter to confirm the said balances and current availability of the funds and they officially respond through their legal department. That's where my POFs are too.

It will end in praise.

You can’t leave Nigeria without enrollment letter.
At port of entry , they don’t even ask for it , only Nigerian immigration do.

Hahahahahaha, Ada im just seeing this post and I can't stop laughing.
I understand that mixed feeling part oh but omo, these are the days we all prayed for and now that its here we have to jump on it oh.
Me that booked and payed for my ticket the day after I got my original passport request I didn't even wait for my passport to be stamped before booking.
As for food, na to pay for extra luggage oh, I got a clue from Lianna's landing gist. I go dry meat put inside my bag pack one for the road.
I dont have 2000 cad to give to them so I don respect myself go take my first jab.
Please make up your mind on when you want to leave so that you won't end up buying a very expensive ticket later. Prices keep increasing daily because of summer. In fact book so we can leave the same day, it will be fun.
May God guide you through your decisions.
LadyBlaq:
We prayed for PPR, it's here and we are thinking twice... grin

I am talking about me, myself and I. I am seriously so lazy about my travel plans. I have been busy doing nothing and everything. I have chest pains each time I think of leaving momsy even for one month. I don't know what and whatnot to pack, I don't even know where to start from...

I am a huuuge sucker for Nigerian foods, ( I lost an overwhelming amount of weight the last time I was at Singapore, with their pink and bright coloured foods). I don't know how to start parking and packaging my foods, I am almost certain I will have to pay for extra luggage, thanks to my love for our foods.
I swore not to take the vaccine here in Nigeria. I punched calculator for the 14 days quarantine and the next place I saw myself was at the nearest primary healthcare center, and then I turned back after standing for 20 minutes looking at people taking their jabs grin grin grin. I am so indecisive....

About my flight, I have booked a lot of them and they have all expired because I am yet to make up my mind for a particular date grin grin I am sure the airline ticketing computers yaff tire for me sef grin grin grin grin grin

Why am I like this? My program of study isn't listed as one of those having full delivery online( it's hybrid) and resumption is 14th of September, still, I am believing I'd start online first and nothing will happen...naija spirit in me geh coconut head cheesy grin grin

It's not even funny bayi! Who do me like this? Can I hire someone to plan this for me? This is becoming more tedious than applying to IRCC for visa plus the wait join...oh chi m!

Adeolu and Daba if you are reading this, please pray for me, I am as confused as anything... grin

My dear,
Write that letter. Assume that you’re face to face on an interview with the visa officer and explain to them everything concerning your application.
Write about your study plan, why you chose the program and what you intend to do with the program in NIGERIA after you graduate. Write about how you intend to fund the program, your family ties in Nigeria etc, check the first page of this thread for more information about LOE.
You’ll not get an opportunity for a physical interview so this is your best shot, don’t leave them to their imagination concerning your application

Hi,
I just recently joined nairaland, and would like to ask a question. I applied for my study permit and completed my biometric on May 14 2021. I didn't submit my letter of explanation which I later found out is key in a study permit application. I graduated secondary school in July 2019 and am just applying for a visa, will this affect my application. Is it necessary for me to submit my letter of explanation as I don't have plenty gap years, and will they understand that the covid is the cause of the gap year in 2020? Will they understand or do I still need to submit it?

Thank you, i'll consider other options as advised.

Will you mind reviewing my SOP for improvement, if necessary. thank you

Frankrobbn1:

As a general rule, I don't buy the idea of using third party (Uncle) sponsorship especially if the sponsor is resident abroad. It may it difficult to convince the immigration office that you will have access to funds during your studies in Canada without recourse to public funds. In light of this, I will rather suggest you use a close relative (parents or siblings) to finance your application to study in Canada. If not being able to get one, you should advice the immigration in writing when you receive the NSE request, that your sponsor is resident of United States and do not have a Mybank Statement Certificate.

You will attach the medical slip given to you at the hospital on your application, there’ll be a column for that.
Otherwise if this is not your first application, you’ll do the above as well as include your UCI number so the hospital can send directly
(The hospital will also send directly as in the previous case)

IMHO, the enrollment letter is not part of the mandatory documents (LOA from a DLI; Proof of Funds; Covid-19 plans) an international student should have to enter Canada. The enrollment letter requirement is probably at the DISCRETION of the immigration officers, cos they are the ones who has the final say as per exit from and entry to any country. It has always been known that possession of passport/visa/permit does not mean automatic exit from or entry to any country. One may still be denied exit or entry at the POE.

Better to have it if your school can provide one, to avoid stories that touch....

I stand to be corrected. Just my view on the issue.

Which section will it be? Client section?

When filling the questionnaire, they will ask you if you have done medicals at any IRCC accredited clinic, if you click YES, then they will bring out potion to upload your upfront medicals and not in clients informations.

But if you clicked NO, then you can attach it in the clients info. But let them know you have done it. You can make table of contents for your clients info. so that when going through table of contents, they will know e-medical is inclusive.

Not a guru though. Let the gurus guide you accordingly. All the best.

This is true. At the height of the pandemic it was being requested because students were deemed to have started classes. If you are not registered, there is no enrollment letter to generate, that is the main point. However, because of our local immigration officials, it may be safer to have the school generate it for you if registration has not opened, or you wait to register before you move. Follow up with your school.
