Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Nobody: 9:21pm On Jul 01, 2021
I applied for a standard UK Visitor Visa, which I later got after 15 working days. Here's my experience;

I opted for self service and uploaded all the requirements i deemed were necessary. this includes;
-Letter of Appointment
-IELTS Results
-Unpaid Booking. com accomodation reservation
-MBBS cert
-2 Bank statements
-CV
-Cover letter
-Confirmation of exam I'm going there to write

I submitted my online application around 25th May, and while it was stated that the only printout I need to bring with me in addition to my passport, is the Checklist and Proof of payment of any other TLS services purchase e.g Super Priority etc...well, thats not entirely true.
Anyway, lemme break it down into points;
1. You can walk in earlier than your scheduled time of appointment e.g if your appt is 2pm you can still come in the morning and they'll attend to you. So its not strictly by your appt time.
2. If you opt for self service, please photocopy the data page of your passport before going in there. Even though they don't mention it among the things to bring, i believe this is their cunny way of extorting people. Why did i say so? They'll ask you if you have the data page photocopy, if you dont, they'll ask you to pay N400 to do it for you (it's compulsory), and they dont collect cash, it has to be with Card. So i handed the lady my card, and tried the transaction but it failed. She tried again, it failed. She was like oga are you sure you have money in your account? The kind of look i gave her made her shut-up. She attempted it the 3rd time and it went through. But guess what? I was debited 3 times for all the successful and declined transactions, and I didn't realise it till i came out of the building coz we were asked to turn off our mobile phones. That's not even the annoying part.
What annoyed me most was the fact that the data page print out is USELESS to both you the applicant and them also, coz after they photocopy it they'll give it back to you to go back home with it. It has no use! Not even when collecting back your passport. Coz I collected my passport without them asking for the printout of datapage. So they practically wasted my N400 x 3= N1200 for nothing , money I could've used to buy data. What's even more annoying is that on the receipt of the payment is says N50 for the actual photocopy and N350 for SMS services. I was like sms to who? about what?
I really believe its their little way of extorting people money especially those that opted for self service and not assisted service.
So if you belong to the former, do your self a favour and photocopy it for atmost N20 before going for you appointment.

Just my little rant.

Sorry I meant who does not .

You don't need to and should not pay yourself salary, whatever you make after taking out your cost of running the business is your profit

Declare your profit and the cost of the trip will come from your profit

You know it's 6 months statement, and the rent collection is not captured in it as it is not paid during that particular 6 month period.

Don't include the money if you can not support the source with evidence. Work with your salary account since you have evidence to support the source.

Reddington or Medbury ..I would suggest any close to where she would be staying before departure. These two have outlets in Ikeja though

Hello everyone,

My wife would be travelling to the UK next week. Please can someone recommend a lab in lagos around Ikeja where she can get the covid test done? I am thinking of Synlab but I am not too sure.

Thanks.

For UK STUDENT VISA application, is English language certificate a compulsory requirement ?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 11:54pm On Jul 01, 2021
No. The requirement is different from school to school. Some schools accept C grade in WAEC as long as it's older than a certain period while some accept a letter from your school stating that your course was fully taught in English. Some others only want IELtS.

Good Evening Fam!,
I have been a silent reader on this platform (had to fish out my long lost password for this post) but I must say that this is one of the best things that could happen to a potential traveller.
The information received here has been most invaluable.
So I applied for my standard visitor visa and I painstakingly went through all the pages on the thread, took time and delayed my application to ensure I don't miss a thing.
Well it paid off and today I received my visa after 2 previous refusals- 2014 and 2018.
I must say that the more I went through the thread, I said to myself "even I would have denied me visa with the manner I filed the previous applications"
Thanks to everyone and I will contribute from time to time to help others just as the contributions of others has helped me.

Timeline

Paid - 9th of June (used a GTB $ card)
9th of June- Uploaded all my documents myself online. I took my time to prevent mistakes and went through my documents painstakingly.
Biometrics- 11th June
Collection mail- 25th June
Picked up passport with Visa - 28th June.

Thank you all.

Congratulations!!!
How exactly did you pay for your visa fee. Kindly take me through the process and how muxh exactly did you pay.

Someone said, I should send him 98,000 to do the paymant for me since may GTb Card ismt working and I don't want to use flutterwave.

Good morning house. Please share your thoughts on this, do I need to state reason why I am currently unemployed when applying to renew my UK visa?

Considering the fact that my husband is sponsoring the trip and I only just resigned a few months ago. I also have very good savings.
