you wrong. emergency situation is brake and clutch at the same time so you dont stall the car.

you people dont know how to drive

This is how we were thought in the UK
How do you perform an emergency stop?

Make sure to drive at a suitable speed for the road you are driving on. Mirrors are the least priority during this maneuver as they would increase your reaction time which will increase your overall stopping distance. Quick reaction time is crucial during the emergency stop.
When the examiner says “STOP”, release the gas pedal, tighten your grip on the steering wheel, brake firmly and progressively (harder than normal but do not slam on the brake pedal). Press the clutch down straight after to prevent the car from stalling. Stalling during an emergency stop will not result in a test failure, but it is good not to stall if you can help it.

so where did I go wrong coz am so scared of driving now. I had a terrible accident on my way to deliver wears to my customers just before Easter. An hausa bike rider just bumped unto my lane and we all landed into a ditch. Till date, I can't tell if it was the clutch or brake that I used but I know I panicked coz it was unexpected. Till date I still shudder at the thought of driving , the car too was badly damaged. Problems will just pack themselves like sardine. I believe when everything gets better , I will never drive myself again

Sorry for the occurrence.
Anything could have happened that day. In such a case, there are different possibilities.

1. If you stepped on the clutch because that's what you've been used to, but you were unable to quickly apply the brake being that you weren't composed anymore because of panic, then you turned the steering towards the ditch from reflex action, it's possible to land in the ditch.

2. If you stepped on the brake partially and steered towards the ditch, it's still the same result.

3. But if you stepped completely on the brake to stop the car, depending on your speed and gear you're driving on and you were not able to press the clutch immediately after the brake. The car would have jerked and stopped, while your body would have been thrown towards the dashboard if you didn't use the seat belt.
From the few things you narrated here, shows either 1 or 2 is likely what happened.

I believe it's no 1. I panicked. It was terrible. I still shudder whenever I remember it

I forgot to say, you shouldn't have driven a manual car in the first place. Automatic cars are more suited for women not manual cars.
Please when next you'll be driving, endeavour to get an automatic car.

Clutch and brake to slow down
Clutch and brake to stop
Clutch and brake for bad road
As my driving instructor taught me to sing it that year cheesy

Me love manual cars abeg. Wetin be automatic?
you don't know how to drive at all. You brake then clutch to change to a lower gear if you want to slow down
