You do need to take a chill pill. An F2 visa is not an emergency… if anything, you’re simply going to be a burden on scarce resources so you can understand why the embassy won’t be giving you an expedited date when you have F1 visa applicants here who can barely find a date.
Also, you are free to “buy a date”… just be expecting to be denied. I wonder why you didn’t just apply with your spouse in the first place. What right do you have to say all these to someone's wife? If you really don't know how to type calm words you should not respond. 4 Likes |

I would like to know, what are the chances of getting a visa if you choose to apply with your spouse? If you would get it u will, no man would die except he has exhausted what has been destined for him. Although applying together if your hubby got a good funding is high. Even if you apply differently u would still get it if God wills. Atleast we saw someone here that got full funding PhD and still got rejected. I went to the embassy and was only asked a question and it was approved before completing my talk. Although I made it clear that I was transitioning from my just completed masters. Just chill sister, u would join ur man soon. My wife is also waiting and we don't apply together because we got her passport late. It will end in praise. 3 Likes |

Thanks for this @Adetbecca. I've learnt a lot from it. I hope to share my testimony also after my interview on Tuesday. Great Ife! Adetbecca: Visa approved Location: Lagos 4th attempt 1st attempt: Lagos no funding 2nd: Abuja no funding 3rd: Abuja half funding 4th: Lagos half funding Program: MS in food science
I firstly want to give God all the glory and adoration for making today's interview a success. I know I can not thank him enough but I give him all the glory because it could only have been him
Secondly I thank God for blessing me with a wonderful fiance that never gave up on me even when I almost gave up on it after the 3rd time I told him I wasn't going for any interview again, he just told me let's give it one more trial and also for all the support and words of encouragement. I also have the best younger sister in the world.
Then Geewin, I messaged him from nairaland after he got his Visa approved, it has been great knowing him. He answered all my questions, helped me with appointment date, checked my transcript and also encouraged me even though he was busy making traveling preparations. I celebrate fairheart also for helping me go through my transcript even with his tight schedules
Lastly I celebrate Tesla for the mock interviews and also linking me up with his friend Dami for mock interviews and also for the encouragement. And also everyone who helped me with mock interviews.
And to everyone who has posted transcripts in the past to encourage people going through hard times due to delay(s). May we all continue to have reasons to celebrate
You guys are the real mvps
It's a long transcrip but read till the end
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning. Happy new year
VO: so why are you going to the US
Me: I am going for my masters degree in food science at North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University and I will be working with Prof. *** on her research which is on Nutritional Genomics.
VO: why this school Me: I chose NCAT because I am interested in prof. *** research as I earlier said the research is on Nutritional Genomics and after making my intents known to her about my interest in her research she offered me a position as a research assistant and the position came with a funding opportunity, here is the funding letter (she didn't tell me to pass it so I held on to it) And also the school has a track on post harvest technology i.e the school has a post harvest technology research center and it is generally known that one of the major problems of food insecurity in Nigeria is post harvest losses of farm produce, i believe i will be able to take courses on post harvest technology among other courses and make use of the knowledge upon my return to Nigeria thereby helping to reduce the problem of food insecurity. Lastly this degree will help me ( she cuts in)
VO: I can see you have funding of ... and deficit of .... who ll be paying for the deficit?
Me: my mother
VO: what does she do
Me: she distributes Nigerian Breweries products within and outside osun state
VO: where does she live
Me: osun state in ife
Vo: what is the name of her company
Me: adet distributing company
VO: adet?
Me: Yes, from our surname
VO: ok
VO: do you have anything to proof this
Me: no, the only thing I have is her bank statement
VO: ok
VO: what is the capacity of her company
Me: she has above 40 staffs, 10 majorand above 25 contract staffs
Vo: since when has she been doing the business
Me: over 10 years
Vo: what will this course do for you
Me: upon my return to Nigeria as I was saying earlier, this degree will equip me with knowledge and skills because the research I will be working on with prof. *** as I said has never been done in Nigeria before and when I return I would continue with the research because I have been promised a position at the department of food sci. Oau where I graduated a position as a research scientist by then the equipments required would have been ready has they have written a grant towards that( she kept nodding and I didn't look away)
VO: what did you study during your undergraduate
Me: I'm going for my masters degree in food science
Vo: I mean your undergraduate (pointing at my I-20)
Me: oh I studied food science at oau
VO: what year did you graduate
Me: I graduated in 2018
VO: what have you been doing since then
Me: after graduation, I went for the compulsory NYSC and finished late 2019, early 2020 I resumed at the department of food science oau as a research assistant
VO: you are working as a research assistant?
Me: I am volunteering as a research assistant due to my interest in research. I assist Dr. *** in preparation, writing and review of manuscripts and journal articles also in performing experiments on her research
VO: what is the research about?
Me: we worked on the bioactve compounds in pawpaw, we word on the determination of the abundance of bioactive compounds in pawpaw before the lockdown ( I stammered at first before I regained balance but I didn't take my eyes off as she kept nodding and typing)
VO: what were you doing during the lockdown, did you take professional courses or what
Me: since we were done with the experiments before the lockdown, I assisted in writing of articles and journals
VO: ok, what have you been doing since after lockdown
Me: like I said we have been writing manuscripts and journals and we haven't been able to resume since ASUU is still on strike and I have been making preparations for resumption
VO: so what will you do when you return?
Me: as I earlier said I will be resuming as a research scientist at OAU because I will be working on the experiment since it has never been done in Nigeria and by then the equipments would have been available
VO: so you have a job already
Me: yes
How many siblings do you have
Me: 4, 3 elder siblings who are married and working and a younger sibling who is in her 3rd year in oau
VO: what did you say
Me: I repeated same thing
VO: do you have any friend in the Us
Me: no, just the ones I have been in contact with
VO: I can see you have funding, how can you proof to me that you will be working as a research assistant ( I guess she asked that because of the way they stated the funding in my I-20, I had the same issue with the black VO in Abuja the last time)
Me: I have emails printed here that I got from her and from the international office ( Fortunately I printed the emails they sent to me when I told them I wasn't going to be able to resume for orientation and all) she passed it back then I passed her the funding letter
VO: then she said the words, i will be approving you visa. I collect the white slip it and just left crying, thanking God
It was when I got back to the hotel I realized she didn't circle the pick up location but it doesn't matter anyway. 5 Likes |

kennethjunior: Login to your portal. Schedule the earliest date after doing that, then check the top left on the webpage, there’s an emergency appointment tab there. Choose the reason which is students or exchange visitors, pick your tentative date, then there’s a space to briefly explain why you need an emergency appointment do that. Then upload documents to support it, upload your I-20, Sevis payment receipt, visa application receipt. admission letter. Submit and wait for their response.
Wow, so generous of you Ken, this really helped, God bless you. 2 Likes |

Completed my check-ins, realized I'm the second to last on the queue, no matter.
Me: Good morning
VO (Huge white lady): Good morning, place your fingers there for me.
Me: Alright.
VO: Pass me your i-20, passport and DS-160.
Me: Here they are. Please, I stutter, if you would be so kind to me patient with me.
VO: Of course (she had time, I was the last person she was to attend to) So, I see you are going to the University of Arkansas for your masters.
Me: Yes, masters in Mechanical Engineering.
VO: Alright, what did you study in your undergrad?
Me: Same Mechanical Engineering, here in Nigeria.

Me: Yes, my supervisor especially was in full support, he even paid for my Visa fee to show his support.
VO: Alright. Will you be returning to the same position?
Me: Of course not, a more challenging and managerial position.
VO: Pointing at my i-20, who is *****?....
Me: He is my older brother.
VO: Where does he live?
Me: ******, here in Nigeria.
VO: Starts typing furiously.... alright, I will be granting you this visa, you will get your passport after.. blah blah... COVID-19 blah blah.... She was just speaking so fast, I couldn't even comprehend anymore.
Me: Thank you.
Know what you filled in your DS-160, look them straight in the eye, even though you stutter or cannot speak fluently. God that did mine will do yours for you. Thank you once again. 2 Likes |

Please let’s all be guided here. I feel scammers and evil people are amongst us. Be careful of who you send your I-20 or admission letter to. Someone from here requested for mine before he can add me to their so called WhatsApp mock interview group. After I posted I got a full funding with surplus here some days ago, my WhatsApp didn’t rest ooo, was getting messages for servis payment, free advice, link to join mock interview, the guy then said, before he adds me to his group, I need to forward my I-20 and admission letter to him. I’m sure he wanted to use my servis number for fraudulent stuffs because his response was not straight. Not everyone would be so smart to dictate this evil ones. Your I-20 and admission letter is private. Don’t send it to anyhow person.
Thank you. 21 Likes |

Congrats!. Please if I'm asked to pass documents, what documents am I to pass to them?? Fikayoid: VISA APPROVED TIME: 8.30 2nd July, 2021. Abuja
COA = $35k Funding = $13k Deficit= 22k
Arrived early, just to get myself acquainted with the environment. Did all the documentation and stuffs. And it was time for the interview.
I was so reluctant to when the VO called for next, and I was asked to go there, (she denied the last 2 applicants)...I almost went for the other window that jus got opened...Anyways sha I proceeded. Did my Biometrics and stuffs. The interview was as follows
Me: Good morning ma'am VO: Good morning, pass me your documents. I passed her everything....i20, sevis, passport etc.
VO: oooh, you're going for a Master's in this Construction Engineering and Management, that's nice.
Me: yes, that's correct.
*she stares at the I20, starts typing....
VO: what will you do after you complete the program
Me: where I work at the moment, **** Construction. The Research and Development department has just been opened, I interviewed for a position in the department and I was recommended, all that is left is to get the minimum requirements of an msc. The position triples my current pay. In the long term, I plan to start my own construction firm, where I will focus majorly on "Digital Construction".
She stopped typing and started at me, saying,
VO; What is Digital Construction?.
In my mind I was like, yes, I don get am
Me: Digital Construction is an application of the emerging trends in technology to Construction. Emerging trends includes Internet of Things, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, etc. Its very rare in Africa and I want to be one of its pioneers over here.
She continues typing for a while....
VO; who is your sponsor
Me; mentions the name
VO; yes, so??
Me; He is my uncle
She looked like She wanted more information and I picked it, so I continued talking
Me; He has been an ever present figure in my life, he actually sponsored my first degree. In my 3rd year as an undergraduate, he told me, "if you can graduate with a first class, I will sponsor your international masters", and here we are.
VO; when did you complete your Bachelors Degree
Me: 2016 ma
VO: how long have you worked at **** construction. (Almost like she wanted to confirm the information on the DS160)
Me; this is my fourth year, I have been there since the beginning of year 2018
Vo; nods her head and continues typing for a while, then she asked what does your sponsor do
Me; He is into large scale mechanised cocoa farming. He exports cocoa from Nigeria to Cameroon and Benin republic.
She nods her head and picked up the white paper....all the things wey she talk after, na she know o....lol.
Thanks to everyone on the platform, I learnt a lot, in all honesty. Although I haven't been long on this portal, but I took time to read a lot from the previous pages and I really learnt. God bless you all.
My advice; If you can get a relevant working experience to your intended study plan, it's a big plus.
See you all at the top. 2 Likes |

Thank you for your feedback. But the approval says it’s only valid till July 8th in the mail sent earlier today. Just wondering if an approval was given isn’t it certain you’ll get a date? Or should I be bothered ? What the mail is saying is that you have till 8 July to reschedule. Otherwise, you'd forfeit the chance of rescheduling. |

Sure you stand a better chance of securing both admit and funding if an only if you can make your application to be more competitive. How can you go about that ? Good, do what’s called WES Evaluation at first as your GPA was actually on a low side but that doesn’t deter you from getting admit and funding you are yearning and aspiring for. Also, take this two tests ; GRE/GMAT and TOEFL and from there you sort it out with other requirements you actually needed to be part of your application process. 3 Likes |
