I did my post because this same issue happened to two people I know. They were enrolled for September and attempted to travel in June and they were refused by the officials of Ethiopian Airlines with the reason being that June was too early to enter Canada. They (the airline officials ) received this decision via WhatsApp from the Office in Nairobi who crosschecks the documents you show at the counter. fairlytreated: 1 Like |

I believe he has seen several posts from others that attest to my original post which he refuted. Things change dramatically with the IRCC and its rules and sometimes, it is not widely known. The airline officials send the enrollment letter via WhatsApp to Embassy Officials who make the decisions now and send it via a message. The others who posted their very recent experiences were current students who were already enrolled and yet they were not allowed to board due to September being far off from the travel date. Good evening to all the gurus here... Reading this thread fills me with so much hope. I'd like to know what chances are for myself and my wife getting an opportunity to study in canada...we both hold masters degrees In political science and would love to progress for a PhD...we are 36 and 31 years respectively and have a little child of about less than a year...I'd like to know if there might be any challenge if we decide to go through this study route. 1 Like |

prittygift114:Why go for another Masters when you are already a Masters Degree holder? A Visa Officer might not see your Purpose of Visit to Canada (to study) as genuine if you go for another Masters degree. A Visa Officer would find it more logical & progressive if you go for a PHD in an International Relations related program E.g PHD Public Policy PHD in peace and conflict studies PHD in Global Governance PHD in Democratic Governance PHD in International Relations PHD in Mediation and Conflict Management studies PHD in Leadership Management etc. So you know, either you want to go for a Masters or PHD (Thesis-based), it is essential for your to secure a Supervisor (Professor). Before you can secure a Supervisor, you need to do serious research on Professors whose Research Areas aligns with your RESEARCH INTERESTS in the above PHD programs related to INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS In order to secure a potential supervisor (prof.), take your time & go through the contents in the link below , relate it to your field/Research Interests and do your due diligence https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/175#102878887 By the way, I have seen posts by some members of this platform who are Masters degree holders decided to go for another Masters degree in Canada , and still got their Study Visa Approved, I would suggest you await a based on experience response from them for guidance. 1 Like |

Changing of statement of Accounts of a different bank from the first application isn't a problem at all.. Take for instance in your first application, you used Sponsor A and got refused and in your second application, you used Sponsor B and got approved... We all know this two sponsors entirely used different SOAs for the 2 applications... And we have seen so many applicants getting approved in their 2nd or 3rd applications with different sponsors.. So changing your Statement of Account from Bank A to Bank B isnt a problem at all... Peace Hannah036: 1 Like |

However, the main reason why am trying to avoid phd is because i know for sure that it will be a long journey for me, i have two kids and other things that wont give me enough time to concentrate. Do you think there should be a way i can convince the VO if i should go for your first two options which is public policy or peace and conflict? Thanks |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by LJF11: 8:07pm On Jul 03, 2021 |
TheShaman: The only rational so far is traveling more than 2 months to resumption which was stated that the border officers might deny you from entry if u r travelling too early , I don't seem to find that clause any longer on ircc website, can u still find it, kindly share |

Jeff5gold: It doesn't have to be on the website. It's an informal practice and directives from IRCC to Airlines. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by LJF11: 8:22pm On Jul 03, 2021 |
TheShaman: I don't think those documents are sent to IRCC officials ,I think they are sent to special airline officials because only border officers are empowered by law to make that decision of entry into a country, airline and passengers get their information from IRCC, there are no special informations for airline to work with , whatever they work with is inline with ircc current guidelines that's why PR applicants don't need to be told by their airlines that they can now travel from July 5th as long as they have valid copr, let's keep monitoring the case 1 Like |
