I did my post because this same issue happened to two people I know. They were enrolled for September and attempted to travel in June and they were refused by the officials of Ethiopian Airlines with the reason being that June was too early to enter Canada. They (the airline officials ) received this decision via WhatsApp from the Office in Nairobi who crosschecks the documents you show at the counter.

fairlytreated:

Sadly, it doesn't work this way in Nigeria airports. Those airlines staffs work as if they are Canadian border officers . I was going for my semester 3. I have evidence of the completed semesters and enrolment confirmation for semester 3 starting in September but was refused boarding by Egyptair. They held it was too early to travel for September resumption. Me weh be old student already o. That's how I was turned down. I told them my visa was approved since November 2020 and was not in a hurry to japa but for where. I argued with them to take me there to face the border officer myself and take responsibility if returned by the border officer. Those airlines especially the ones operated by Africa countries won't board you. I explained my kids exemption letter were expiring and not certain about renewal and it was necessary to travel early to get enough time after quarantine to rent and find schools for them before resumption so I can balance their school runs and mine but for where. She categorically told me should wouldn't answer me again. Myself and other students were just treated like slaves in our own country. Hardest of it is the airline requesting fair difference and penalty payments to reschedule. Anyway we shall overcome all these ill treatment soon.
It is strongly advised to wait few weeks before resumption. Although I'm sure Airlines operated by Europe countries wouldn't go that far.

Hi Elyasix,

My best guess is that your are referring to June 29, 2021. That is few days ago.

Let try and explain how IRCC work to my mind.

They use a queue system.

Meaning that applications submitted are dealt has they are submitted with. They deal and move on to the next based on timestamp on those applications.

On some occasions, They will skip an application on the queue and move the next if the application is incomplete or has some irregularity.

Since it's your second application, you probably would not hear from them until medical request or request for more document from you.

And if you have done medical in your previous application, you probably wouldn't hear from them till a final decision is made on the application. And the timeline based on trend is NSE - 1 month and some days while the normal route is about 2-3 months. In some cases, 4-5 months.

So just chill. Go to your altar and trust God.

And nothing is impossible, you can get a feedback by next week first which is extremely rare though.

Enjoy your weekend.

I meant since May 29th not June bro. It's over a month ago! I only did biometric!
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by TheShaman: 6:34pm On Jul 03, 2021
I believe he has seen several posts from others that attest to my original post which he refuted. Things change dramatically with the IRCC and its rules and sometimes, it is not widely known. The airline officials send the enrollment letter via WhatsApp to Embassy Officials who make the decisions now and send it via a message. The others who posted their very recent experiences were current students who were already enrolled and yet they were not allowed to board due to September being far off from the travel date.

Jeff5gold:

Funny....when you meet them in the airport, tell them to show you the link.

Thank you very much. This was the same situation I personally witnessed at the airport in June.

fairlytreated:

Be calming down small. Those saying they were denied boarding didn't say they didn't have enrolment confirmation. Once you have paid your fees you can easily access and print enrolment confirmation from the school portal. The airline argument is that its too early to travel. I my case I have everything. I argued. They snap and send all documents to their rep in Egypt who gave the final decision. We were like 3 that day and all with enrolment confirmation. I used my children AL that was expiring and the reply from the man up there was that they can't travel since parent isn't boarding, So much have changed.

Happened to me when I was going back in May, even though I told them I’m done with school already, my study visa was still valid btw, they didn’t let me board lmao. I been in canada 4yrs+ not like I’m new… I had to book a flight to the US and went in through the US. Nigerian airline officials though smh. Still wondering why they act like they’re the immigration. I’m so done tbh!

Please which 29th June are you talking about? The one that just passed by few days or the one of last year 2020?

If it's the later, then you need to take some chill pill and calm down. If it's the former, then state it clearly so you can be advised on what next to do.

I meant may 29th sir! Over a month ago!

Good evening to all the gurus here... Reading this thread fills me with so much hope.

I'd like to know what chances are for myself and my wife getting an opportunity to study in canada...we both hold masters degrees In political science and would love to progress for a PhD...we are 36 and 31 years respectively and have a little child of about less than a year...I'd like to know if there might be any challenge if we decide to go through this study route.

@frank and gurus. Make una help me.
For someone that has Msc in international relations already but plan going for another masters program in Canada.

Which course would you guys suggest? Thanks
Why go for another Masters when you are already a Masters Degree holder?

A Visa Officer might not see your Purpose of Visit to Canada (to study) as genuine if you go for another Masters degree.

A Visa Officer would find it more logical & progressive if you go for a PHD in an International Relations related program

E.g
PHD Public Policy
PHD in peace and conflict studies
PHD in Global Governance
PHD in Democratic Governance
PHD in International Relations
PHD in Mediation and Conflict Management studies
PHD in Leadership Management etc.

So you know, either you want to go for a Masters or PHD (Thesis-based), it is essential for your to secure a Supervisor (Professor). Before you can secure a Supervisor, you need to do serious research on Professors whose Research Areas aligns with your RESEARCH INTERESTS in the above PHD programs related to INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

In order to secure a potential supervisor (prof.), take your time & go through the contents in the link below , relate it to your field/Research Interests and do your due diligence

By the way,
I have seen posts by some members of this platform who are Masters degree holders decided to go for another Masters degree in Canada , and still got their Study Visa Approved, I would suggest you await a based on experience response from them for guidance.

Changing of statement of Accounts of a different bank from the first application isn't a problem at all.. Take for instance in your first application, you used Sponsor A and got refused and in your second application, you used Sponsor B and got approved... We all know this two sponsors entirely used different SOAs for the 2 applications... And we have seen so many applicants getting approved in their 2nd or 3rd applications with different sponsors.. So changing your Statement of Account from Bank A to Bank B isnt a problem at all... Peace

@Lekiboboe. Thanks for this detailed explanation. However, the main reason why am trying to avoid phd is because i know for sure that it will be a long journey for me, i have two kids and other things that wont give me enough time to concentrate.

Do you think there should be a way i can convince the VO if i should go for your first two options which is public policy or peace and conflict? Thanks

The only rational so far is traveling more than 2 months to resumption which was stated that the border officers might deny you from entry if u r travelling too early , I don't seem to find that clause any longer on ircc website, can u still find it, kindly share

We all know no IRCC website has said four weeks,

It doesn't have to be on the website. It's an informal practice and directives from IRCC to Airlines.

I don't think those documents are sent to IRCC officials ,I think they are sent to special airline officials because only border officers are empowered by law to make that decision of entry into a country, airline and passengers get their information from IRCC, there are no special informations for airline to work with , whatever they work with is inline with ircc current guidelines that's why PR applicants don't need to be told by their airlines that they can now travel from July 5th as long as they have valid copr, let's keep monitoring the case
