Guys I need clarification about something, the visa they will put on the applicant's passport, will it be the TRV and then they get the work permit upon entry? If its the TRV, will the tenor be the remaider of the time on the applicant's passport, or the remainder of the time of the spouse's study permit as in my case. I ask because my permit expires december, which is when my passport expires. I am currently in the process of getting a new passport and filing for an extension of my study permit. The question is; if I am unable to achieve all this before hubbys application comes out, will it affect him? He just applied for a new passport so he has 5 years on it. Will he be given a TRV with the 5 years and then when he gets to POE, he will be given a work permit with the length of my study permit. Hopefully my application for an extension would have been out by then. Hopefully my questions make sense

Hi everyone, please oo I'm really confused about this travel authorization thingy. I follow 2 Canada Visa groups...Since my visa was lodge in the Philippines I follow their Facebook page and updates. My question is the Travel Authorization do we apply for it after the OWP visa has been approved or while the application is still processing? I'm a bit confused because i checked the IRCC page and also the Facebook group I'm following they only apply for Travel Authorization after visa approval. My visa is been processed in Nairobi so I want to be sure I'm on the right track.

When you arrive Canada
Settle down first .... maybe the world will be back to normal...u can then apply for visiting visa for her
While her visit visa is still valid
You can both come back for your wedding
And start anything spousal from there.

Just the spousal visa only.

Your status and time remaining are important for his application and open work permit period. It is longer when you achieve what I stated above.

I suggest you hasten up renewing your passport, TRV and SP. Request GCMS notes to track your hubby SOWP application (you may need to do this multiple times while your own renewal is active) and once you have some approval of your own SP/TRV, send in a webform for your hubby application to show appproval of your own extension. I think your extension will enjoy faster/quicker application period because its student and we are prioritized above all others at the moment. It simply now depends on how quickly you are technically able to apply for passport extension since every other thing relies on that.

Please how do I get letter of acceptance for my children’s study permit. They stated it as part of the required docs to upload.
Secondly, where should I upload spouse’s doc eg study permit, enrollment letter, marriage cert etc

Most people go by road. You can look for a driver going to Ottawa and share ride with him/her (couple of ridesharing ads on facebook). I never knew its now by appointment. Its always been walk -in on a first come first serve basis.

Did my biometrics on 20th April, 2021 and got updated biometrics on my profile same day.

Since then no news. Please I want to meet my husband. The waiting period has not been funny. �

I know someone who had appointment about 2/3 months ago just the resurgence of Covid-19 (3rd wave or so) and then the embassy shutdown. He was invited about 2 weeks ago. he drove from Montreal to Ottawa (2 hours away) and had his biometric same day then returned. I have heard of people doing ride-share too, pointing to option via FB Marketplace. So I would say it depends on your distance from Ottawa and contacts in the Capital. No, Saturday is not unusual because this person also had his on a Saturday 2 weeks ago when they reopened
