I don't how to describe the place because I went there by chance.

I visited Abuja and while waiting to conclude what took me to Abuja,

I decided to scroll into some interior parts of Abuja and I saw the market.

But I did not ask the name of the market and it's location.
Might be the market around Zuba...

Go to some mama-put joints, you'd see expensive car owners patronising the joints. Most people have come down from their high horses, now that the reality of life has dawned on them.

It's not about the quality of foodstuff. There is no level of quality food that doesn't reach the cities - it's about the price. Have you not been paying attention to the skyrocket of food prices across the nation? What we have experienced how the quality of living, and security has plunged in the past few years is unprecedented in the history of this country.
A women who arrive from the city to shop in those villages will probably be from middle class families who often cook for a large quantity of people every other weekend while hosting meetings, events etc. Normally they can comfortably shop from the city markets if cooking for only their families, but can't afford the city markets when cooking for numerous people.
WoundedLamb:
Good for business. The elites will soon realize that quality food stuff can only be gotten in these villages. I only fear the impact of this new development on local consumers. The rich ones would still make better offers than the locals and this may make the cost of things to go up.

But I never said they were going cause of the quality. The thread already already makes it clear they're doing so cause of the high prices of food items in the cities. I only said they'd also realize quality food items are gotten from the villages. And logically, that's an indisputable fact. Amongst other factors, things are cheaper in the villages cause they come directly from the farm with no overhead costs, and nothing you'd ever get from grocery stores can beat that. Fruits and vegetables take days and sometimes weeks before getting to your dining table in the city. Some ripe under forced conditions while others get infested along the way. We shouldn't even be be doing this comparison. In addition, I also expressed concerns regarding the possible impact of this new development on the villagers.

This is very good for the Local farmer's business.
Responsible, Prudent and sensible Married women going to the Local Markets to buy foodstuffs to take care of their various families is now something someone woke up to create a thread about?!
So they should have been going to Shoprite/Buyrite OR other Supermarkets to purchase EVERYTHING and ANYTHING they want, even to locust beans, Ugwu and Ugba?
Women are shopping happily for their families and some people are not happy about it. (Food wey dem no go chop inside o cheesy)
And you can also see in the same thread how happy these women were expressing themselves doing all the shopping.

Another truth about the thread.

To slap u dey hungry me. Food inflation is extremely high and I can only imagine how much it will cost in supermarkets in a city like Abuja. I live in Lagos and I went grocery shopping yesterday at the supermarket and I nearly cried after viewing my debit alert.Things are just too darn expensive and I expect worse in a city like Abuja. Tell ur bubu to focus on the economy and stop focusing all his energy on frivolities like Kanu and Twitter. He can start from the economy then move to insecurity. We would love to start seeing those herders beheaded by his authority one by one.boko boys too included.

Food stuff are more expensive than 'cocaine' in the city centre, the prices can be double or more compared to what you get in those local markets. If not because of those local markets, it will be hard to survive as a middle class in Abuja not to talk of the low income earners.
Na you people way day take cocaine and heroin on regular basis fit compare the prices

Can't blame people for shopping at places where they can get fresh and organic foods, fruits and vegetables.

Here's a free hint to all nairalanders : Reduce the no of times you eat meat, chicken, turkey to just once in a week, instead take more of fish, fruits and vegetables. You'll live longer and have a stronger immune system
the cost of fish is something else.1 kwashiorkor looking tutus fish is now 800 naira. How many pieces will someone cut it, and besides how many households can buy 1 fish for 800 naira?
