IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has his case coming up on the 26th of July. I see two things happening. The federal government will seek to increase the charges against him, and Kanu's defence team are going to seek accelerated hearing, which will likely to be granted as the case is over 5 years old with no headway made. But here are 3 reasons why Kanu is likely to be discharged and acquitted of all charges

1) Acelerated Hearing- It is usually helps the defendant as the pressure will be on prosecution to get their case right. Any delay by the prosecution can result in the case being thrown out of court. One false move could destroy the Prosecution's case, without any time to rectify it

2)Kanu's trial is going to attract a lot of media attention and scrutiny. The trial judge, Justice Binta Nyako, will have to do things by the book or her reputation will be shredded. There will be no room for sentiments. This will not be one of those trials where a biased judge who does not like the face of a defendant, will stretch their power of discretion unduly against the defendant. This case will be based on the evidence put before Justice Nyako, and nothing else

3) I suspect that the main thing the prosecution will do is try to say that Kanu's ESN is responsible for the insecurity in the South East. They will go and dig up Kanu's videos, tweets and broadcasts and try to link him to unknown gun men. Kanu's defence will then bring out videos and tweets of where Kanu has consistently said ESN are not the unknown gunmen. It will be Kanu's word against theirs. If the case of the prosecution is going to be based on the utterances of Kanu on Radio Biafra, the case is almost as good as dead.

The case has two sides to it, local and international law sides. The FG cannot prove that KANU jumped bail and left the country if they don't prove to the court that kanu was arrested outside, and also disclose the country he was brought in from. Such disclosure on it's own has wide ranging ramifications on the legality of his "arrest".

Booom!!!

*FG would start producing captured ESN members in court to give testimonies of Kanu's terrorism orders, how he recruited them , trained and armed them to fight Nigerian government

*Evidence gathered at Ikonso's hideout would be presented to the world, phone logs, chats , emails

*For Kenyan Government to detain Kanu for 8 days before his extradition (according to Kanu's Family) Kenya and Interpol have another new case on him, soliciting fire arms, or money laundering to fund terrorism

*Ahmed Gulak that was murdered in Imo State, his family and friends, his relatives plus PDP associates (Atiku, Goodluck Jonathan, Kwankwaso) would gather even more witness and evidence to get Kanu ended permanently

*Nyemsom Wike would produce the arrested ESN members that bombed his father's church, and show the world where Nnamdi Kanu gave a 100 million bounty for who ever kills and deliver his head

*Supreme court Justice Mary Odili from Mbaise Imo State has two axe to grind,

1: Kanu disrupted the peace in her town
2: Kanu disrespected her godsons, Nyemsom
Wike and Hope Uzodinma

Theres a problem with that. If an ESN member comes to court and says that he got directive to go and commit terrorism, Kanu's defence team will produce numerous times Kanu said that ESN's job is to protect the bushes from armed killer herdsmen and that the person acted on his own. In that kind of situation, the judge will disegard whatever the ESN person says hearsay

Protect the bush by giving them illegal firearms?! Assualt war grade riffle that are unregistered?!

That's even more offense,

To capitalise on this, FG would produce videos of Kanu at Ibo World Congress openly soliciting for funds for fire arms,

or his videos or tweets where he asked Ibos to report Security checkpoint accross Ibo land to him, giving his number

Soliciting for arms for what exactly?. Una think say court case na beer parlour something.

Reporting security check points to him is not different from hypocritical directive from commissioner on reporting illegal police checkpoints

How will he prove before the court that buhari is jubril from sudan? cheesy grin

So the audio of him saying ikonso will be buried with 2000 heads is presented. And arrested ESN commanders confess to crimes, with evidence that they are ESN members. How will he no prove that ESN is not part of IPOB.

With video of ESN bearing arms, how will he defend arming the group with AK47 and no licensing?

A witness will have to convince a judge that Nnamdi actually instructed him or her to do something illegal. If it all about who said what, Nnamdi Kanu will say that EZN was about protecting people from killer herdsmen and that who did anything outside that acted on their own
