I know this will never make front page because Seun and his gang, for business reasons, limit the reach of certain ideas on nairaland — some ideas are more worthy of being noticed than others.

If I ask adherents of the three main abrahamic religions(Christianity, Islam and Judaism) why they keep to their faith and why they think their beliefs are valid, all sorts of reasons, however unreasonable, would surface. For the true believers, who in all sincerity, embraced and labour for their belief, I would like to ask, why bother? Would you not consider leaving the shackles of your faith? Have you really questioned your beliefs? Here are the reasons why you should consider leaving :

1) YOUR GOD'S EXISTENCE ACTUALLY HAS NO BASIS IN REALITY : This is the plain truth. If you think otherwise, why don't you refute my claim with sound evidence for your god's existence? Nothing in this universe be it the sun, moon, life forms, plants, landscapes etc. indicates, in any way, that your god exists. There is no way you can infer, by any means, from the physical world that your god exists. There is simply no sound logical pathway that leads from the observation of our physical world to the conclusion that your god exists. The same applies to the claims of a spiritual world and spiritual entities. Heaven, hell, angels, demons, spirits, purgatory, paradise etc. have no basis in reality. What evidence do you have to assert that these things are real? Why fight for a heaven or paradise you haven't seen and can't prove exists? How about angels and jinns? Have you seen these for yourself to believe that they exist, or do you believe because someone told you they existed?

Do you believe in god because you have sound evidence for yourself, or because someone else told you god exists? Do you have evidence that god exists? Take your time and ask yourself these questions and please, try to answer them. How about you sit down and think about the bases and evidences for your god? If possible get a pen or pencil and write down why you believe in your god and the evidences you have for his existence. Found out for yourself and don't depend on "trusted sources" eg. Your pastor, parents, trusted fellowship leaders etc. Search for yourself.

I challenge you to promise yourself the following while doing your research, "I will be honest with myself and be neutral. My belief in my god must be based on a reasonable basis. If there are evidences for my god's existence then I shall accept them. If my god really wants me to believe his existence then he will show himself to me, for asking for evidence is not a sin and it's not so much to ask from an omnipotent god who wants your soul to be saved. If there are no evidences, I shall remain inconclusive and if I notice logical flaws, contradictions and falsehood, I will have the humility and honesty to point it out.

2) YOUR GOD IS THE STUFF OF SCAM :
*) Imagine if I wanted to invent an almighty god and convince people of his existence. Unavoidably and naturally, my god would have many characteristics of your god. Naturally, if I told people about my all powerful god they would ask for proof and demonstration of his power. What better to avoid this than "thou shall not test the Lord thy God"?

*) Since I have no evidence for my god and other related claims, how else can people accept such god's existence and attributes if not by faith? How else can I make it more binding to them if I don't promote faith as a virtue? Faith is believing without evidence, and those who believe without evidence are not virtuous but stupid. If faith is a good basis to assert a claim, then I can assert that unicorns exist somewhere on Neptune by faith? Anything that can be asserted by faith, even the existence of werewolves and comic superheroes. Anything that can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

*) Also notice that in order for my god not to be seen as someone who is unreliable and a failure in the time of need and keeping his promises, it is natural that I make him unaccountable. If your prayer gets "answered", he should be given all the credit. If your prayers go unanswered, then either it is not his will or your are at fault for doubting. Think about this carefully. Also since he cannot do anything, given his non-existence, I would elevate greatly every natural marvel such as child birth, a good economy, employment, success in life and academics, surviving an accident etc. as my god's achievement even though they are things that are natural and could and do happen without.

Think about how you foolishly give credit to god despite working hard to pass an exam. Don't atheist read and pass too? Who are they to thank? How to realise prayer doesn't work is to pray for something out of the ordinary and observe that it can never happen? All notice that prayer without work always fail, work without prayer works and work with prayer works. So what's the use of prayer?

*) Given that I purport my god to be all knowing, curious minds would want god to reveal mysteries of the universe for our betterment and understanding. Mysteries such as the natural cure for HIV, scientific mysteries, etc. what better way to avoid this test than to say it "it is the glory of my god to conceal a matter and it is the glory of kings(or men) to search it out" ?

*) Given that my god can't be reasonably reconciled with reality, it would be natural, and in my best interest, to insist that his plans and ways are just even though humans can't comprehend it, and his ways are mysterious. Isn't unnecessary mystery the bed rock of bull crap? Wouldn't it also be in my best interest to insinuate that logical thinking and human reasoning(the most effective tools against my bullcrap) are canal and enmity towards my god and my god cannot and shouldn't be questioned?

*) To further promote my bullshit, I would insist that "... without faith, it is impossible to please god AND THOSE THAT COME TO HIM MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS... How about "happy are those who haven't seen but yet believe"? Be sincere with yourself, does that make sense? Is it wise to believe without seeing? Why would that be a virtue if not to bind you, without your resistance, to my bullcrap? Can you practice this in real life when doing business? Can you pay for a car you haven't seen?

Please tell me, if you don't reason, ask questions and seek evidence, how would you know the truth? How can you be sure that something such as god's plan/will, though unreasonable, makes sense in a way that you can not realise? What if I told you that the ways and looting of our Nigerian politicians are just and for the best in a way you cannot understand, would you agree?

3) ALL ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS ARE BASED ON FAITH : Christianity, Islam and Judaism are based on faith not reasoning, logic or evidence. Why then are you giving your all for things that have no evidence? There are two problems with faith:
1) Having faith in something doesn't make it true (or mean that it will come to pass).
2) A person could have faith in almost anything however unreasonable and ludicrous.

4) NO SIGN OF DIVINE OR SUPERNATURAL INTERVENTION, AND NATURE ALWAYS TAKES IT'S CAUSE : now, do yourself the honour of HONESTLY AND SINCERELY observing human life closely and you will discover that there are no tangible and irrefutable signs of the supernatural and it's influence. There are no signs of divine or supernatural intervention. Mankind is on it's own and left to fend for itself. There is no help from anywhere.

Also observe that despite the some much noise about the existence of your god and the greatness of his power, nature and events(regardless of your religious stance and amount of prayer) always proceed naturally as you would expect if there were no god and the physical world and human efforts were all we had. Nature and events would always take their natural course as you expect if there were no god(s) and atheism was the accurate position all along. There is no suspension of the natural laws by your god or any god to help you or your brethren. If a christian or muslim has stomach cancer, nature would take it's course and the believer would end up dead shortly no matter the prayer rendered to god. The same applies to the irreligious.

Cancer remission happens to both the religious and irreligious. Great statistical improbability for the remission of most cancers, are not impossibilities. If having a remission of your cancer that had a very rare chance of remission is a miracle, then winning a mega lottery is a miracle as well.

For the miracles you've heard and seen, how do you know these miracles are legitimate? Are there really no chances that they were made up and exaggerated? Think deeply about it. Why is it that the so called miracles that happen, for which christians give testimonies, are either natural things that could have happened anyway(eg. giving birth after many years of marriage, gaining admission into the university, securing a job, etc.) or things that can be faked. It's easy to fake the healing of cancers, multiple sclerosis, inability to walk, blindness, ALS etc. but you can't fake the healing and restoration of an amputated leg or decapitated head. Any surprises why we don't see amputees being restored? Start asking the right questions.

The things you see as miracles or have considered miracles, are they really divine doings or just natural happenings? Think!

5) NO TANGIBLE DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF THE RELIGIOUS AND IRRELIGIOUS : untimely death, cancers and other health challenges, poverty, sudden financial crisis, academic failure, mental illnesses, marital failure, injustice, bereavement, accidents, kidnap, rape etc. happen to both the religious and irreligious, and these mishaps happen to both sides at almost the same frequency regardless of race, age, moral uprightness and background. Try thinking about this.

If indeed your god were benevolent, all powerful and really loves his people, why doesn't he make a difference in their lives? Why doesn't he ensure that his followers stand out in life? What exactly are the impacts of your god in people's lives? People praise god, give their hard earned money as tithes and provisions to move the church forward yet what tangible impact does god have in the lives of his children? Why do the things I listed keep happening to both sides in the manner I described?

Why really bother? Think.

6) YOUR RELIGION ISN'T NEEDED TO MAKE YOU MORAL AND HOLY BOOKS ARE NOT GREAT SOURCE OF MORALITY : people in opposition to atheism usually ask "how can people be moral without god and religion?" and to this I reply "how come many atheists are moral without god and many believers are immoral with god?" You can be morally upright without your god and holy book. Human morality and decency precedes religion and religion has no right to monopolise morality. Can you name one act of kindness that you cannot achieve if you don't believe in your god? Your morality is inborn and you need no holy book or god to tell you right from wrong.

In fact, chances are that you are better, much better, than many of your fellow believers. The most hardened crooks, thieves, condescending, hypocritical, petty, mean, heartless, greedy, proud and cruel individuals are religious folks. Many claim they are religious and serve god faithfully yet they don't treat their fellow human beings right, especially those they consider beneath them. They treat those they consider inferior like trash. They are even snobbish. Don't forget the homophobia that has riddled most part of the religious community. There are people who are atheist and don't behave like that, how do they do it? You can treat others right and know right from wrong without the help of a god or holy book. Even the moral compass of the abrahamic holy books are faulty and you can do better on your own. So why bother?

Even the religious cannot keep their own laws. They harbor hatred, jealousy and wicked intentions, they fornicate, get drunk, watch porn, commit adultery, don't help the needy — they very things which their religion, which they claim to follow, commands them not to do. So why bother when you can do better on your own and be free?

7) RELIGION IS FOR THE POOR AND GULLIBLE BUT NOT FOR THE RICH : the poor and gullible burden themselves with religion and vigorously embrace it. They also have it seriously and heavily implemented on them by their clergies. Now, if a rich muslim billionaire wants to wed his muslim daughter to a christian guy, he will be given a free pass and even receive the blessings of the imam but had it being a poor muslim who want to wed his broke daughter to a broke christian guy, all hell would be let loose at how the sacred precepts of the quran are being violated.

A famous and rich homosexual can be accepted by top churches as a member but in poorer and local churches it cannot happen. It's even worse if the homosexual is unknown and broke for they may lynch and disgrace him or her publicly. Most rich religious people and their children don't even take these religious stuff seriously. The politicians among them use it as useful tool. Clergies enable these people and twist the rules for them. Even your clergy whom you think is fire brand and faithful will compromise when the rich move their "paper weights" around. It is only the poor and gullible that take religion too seriously and become useful idiots for the clergies and elites at the top.

What applies to the rich doesn’t apply to the poor. To show that religion is just a tool in the hands of the clergy and elites, why is it that a corrupt, looting, womanising and wicked politician will come to church when election is around the corner, and the top GO will lay his hands on him in front of his massive congregation? The politician is simply looking for votes and has teamed up with daddy GO. If he can't appeal to the congregation directly, he will indirectly do so through the GO because people trust, believe and rever their GO and would vote for the politicians endorsed by him. If the GO says "this politician has been chosen by god to lead the nation..." majority would vote because they god has pointed out the right and best candidate through daddy GO.

It should be noted that I am not trying to generalise, but I am referring to majority of cases. I am not against rich people, neither do I regard with condescension poor and uneducated people. The abrahamic religions may condemn homosexuality but top religious institutions will twist their scriptures and condone and conduct gay marriages. I am not against gay marriage but people should know where they stand and stop fostering homophobic doctrines and religious beliefs that a lot of people take seriously even though these top religious institutions and elites don't take them seriously.

Each of these eight Realities operates on different levels of Spiritual Energy.

You need more LIFE FORCE to exist and operate in First Heaven, than you do on Earth. You need more Spiritual Energy to operate in Second Heaven than in First Heaven... and so on, until the Seventh Heaven, that requires the greatest Spiritual Energy of all to Exist and Operate in.

OF COURSE GOD "DOES NOT EXIST," AND "IS NOT REAL" IN THIS UNIVERSE- HE COMES FROM A HIGHER PLANE OF EXISTENCE.

There is nothing more stupid than to believe in the existence and availability of things you need, to protect and prolong your life, and never use them when you need them.

An average person who lives in the real World is normally subject to sickness and disease, therefore most Christian Converts have need of Divine Healing from time-to-time.

I DO NOT BELIEVE DIVINE HEALING EXISTS, BECAUSE I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT PERSONALLY: THEREFORE, I KNOW THAT DIVINE HEALING IS REAL, AND THAT GOD IS REAL!

I was born in a country that had Malaria where I was, and when I came to Nigeria, I lived in Endemic areas, and depended upon Medicine to stay alive.

I would invariably fall ill, like clockwork, about four times a year, and need treatment. However, eight years in, I noticed that the Attacks were getting worse, and the Anti-Malarial Drugs were having less and less effect. At that time, no one knew what Drug-Resistant Malaria was.

I became convinced that I would die soon, in a matter of a couple of years at the most, and went to Church to see if I could get closer to God, and perhaps miss Hell, somehow.

I responded to the first Altar Call I had ever seen, and, to my surprise, it felt like an actual physical load I had been carrying like a backpack, had been removed. I literally felt lighter.

But a few weeks later, I learned, that contrary to what I had been taught my whole life, God still performed Miracles today- and that Born Again Christians- which is what I was now- had the Divine Right to call on God for Healing, and expect Him to answer positively!

Therefore, when I next fell ill with Malaria, I confidently called on God for Healing, and was Healed.

That was my practice for the next five years, until I had to leave Organized Christianity, when I uncovered that the Churches that did not believe in the Power of God in Modern Times, had infiltrated the Full Gospel Movement, and trying to suppress Divine Healing.

That was when I learned the cause of illness, and the Biblical way to prevent Sickness and Disease, without having to Pray for Healing.

It is regarded as "normal" to "Catch Cold," and have Headaches. The simple Biblical method I applied eliminated that completely.

However, wicked people, who know all about this, deliberately keep It from Christians and Unbelievers.

ITALIAN DOCTOR, TULLIO SIMONCONI, reasoned that, since Cancers thrived in an Acidic Environment, ALKALIZING the bodies of Cancer patients should impair them. He used common SODIUM BICARBONATE- the active ingredient in BAKING SODA to alkalize the bodies of eighteen TERMINAL CANCER patients, and SAVED all of them.

THE SIMPLE CURE FOR CANCER AND 98% OF AILMENTS, DISEASES, ILLNESSES, AND SICKNESSES IS FASTING.

Why is it that the so called miracles that happen, for which christians give testimonies, are either natural things that could have happened anyway(eg. giving birth after many years of marriage, gaining admission into the university, securing a job, etc.) or things that can be faked. It's easy to fake the healing of cancers, multiple sclerosis, inability to walk, blindness, ALS etc. but you can't fake the healing and restoration of an amputated leg or decapitated head. Any surprises why we don't see amputees being restored? Start asking the right questions.

Many claim they are religious and serve god faithfully yet they don't treat their fellow human beings right, especially those they consider beneath them. They treat those they consider inferior like trash. They are even snobbish. Don't forget the homophobia that has riddled most part of the religious community. There are people who are atheist and don't behave like that, how do they do it? You can treat others right and know right from wrong without the help of a god or holy book. Even the moral compass of the abrahamic holy books are faulty and you can do better on your own. So why bother?

Even the religious cannot keep their own laws. They harbor hatred, jealousy and wicked intentions, they fornicate, get drunk, watch porn, commit adultery, don't help the needy — they very things which their religion, which they claim to follow, commands them not to do. So why bother when you can do better on your own and be free?

MORALITY IS SINNERS' STANDARDS OF RIGHT AND WRONG: IT IS NOT RELEVANT.

Everything God Commands can be condemned as "IMMORAL" by Sinful Hypocrites.

7) RELIGION IS FOR THE POOR AND GULLIBLE BUT NOT FOR THE RICH : the poor and gullible burden themselves with religion and vigorously embrace it. They also have it seriously and heavily implemented on them by their clergies. Now, if a rich muslim billionaire wants to wed his muslim daughter to a christian guy, he will be given a free pass and even receive the blessings of the imam but had it being a poor muslim who want to wed his broke daughter to a broke christian guy, all hell would be let loose at how the sacred precepts of the quran are being violated.

A famous and rich homosexual can be accepted by top churches as a member but in poorer and local churches it cannot happen. It's even worse if the homosexual is unknown and broke or they may lynch and disgrace him or her publicly. Most rich religious people and their children don't even take these religious stuff seriously. The politicians among them use it as useful tool. Clergies enable these people and twist the rules for them. Even your clergy whom you think is fire brand and faithful will compromise when the rich move their "paper weights" around. It is only the poor and gullible that take religion too seriously and become useful idiots for the clergies and elites at the top.

What applies to the rich doesn’t apply to the poor. To show that religion is just a tool in the hands of the clergy and elites, why is it that a corrupt, looting, womanising and wicked politician will come to church when election is around the corner, and the top GO will lay his hands on him in front of his massive congregation? The politician is simply looking for votes and has teamed up with daddy GO. If he can't appeal to the congregation directly, he will indirectly do so through the GO because people trust, believe and rever their GO and would vote for the politicians endorsed by him. If the GO says "this politician has been chosen by god to lead the nation..." majority would vote because they god has pointed out the right and best candidate through daddy GO.

It should be noted that I am not trying to generalise, but I am referring to majority of cases. I am not against rich people, neither do I regard with condescension poor and uneducated people. The abrahamic religions may condemn homosexuality but top religious institutions will twist their scriptures and condone and conduct gay marriages. I am not against gay marriage but people should know where they stand and stop fostering homophobic doctrines and religious beliefs that a lot of people take seriously even though these top religious institutions and elites don't take them seriously.

Why bother?

YOU KNOW VERY WELL THAT THE LORD ASKED: "WHAT DOES IT PROFIT A MAN, TO GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD, AND LOSE HIS OWN SOUL?"

It is possible to be Rich, and Spiritually-successful. We have never seen that, even in millionaire and maybe billionaire Preachers. They are not as successful as they think they are.

They have never succeeded in attaining EVERLASTING LIFE, and have little or no grasp of THE TEN TALENTS OF POWER.

We need Christians who will get it RIGHT.

If I ask adherents of the three main abrahamic religions(Christianity, Islam and Judaism) why they keep to their faith and why they think their beliefs are valid, all sorts of reasons, however unreasonable, would surface. For the true believers, who in all sincerity, embraced and labour for their belief, I would like to ask, why bother? Would you not consider leaving the shackles of your faith? Have you really questioned your beliefs? Here are the reasons why you should consider leaving :

As per Christianity, all the points you raised above have nothing to do with what the Bible taught. Your thoughts are mostly from lack of proper study and understanding of what you are criticizing. Most times, it is because you have been exposed and conditioned to lies and misinformed. You won't agree to this because, the same veil that covered those you called religious is still on your face. You had the veil on you since the period of your religious journey. A claim of enlightenment now, only changed the color of the veil, your understanding of the scriptures is still under the veil.

You claimed position of enlightenment is supposed to help you know how to read properly and be objective and scholarly. That means if you are truly enlightened, you should be able to read the Bible properly without even having to believe what it explained. And get to the right conclusion of what it taught.

But sadly, the claimed enlightenment of most like you who critic the Bible are still entrenched and lost in ignorance and false teaching they were exposed to when you were church goers or be around the church. Remove the old and new veil on you and see properly.
