MaxInDHouse: I know it will come down to "we are being hated like Jesus" and "they are persecuting JWs", Lols There is no watchtower publication out there one can read without them bashing and condemning other christians. But Other christian publications like Sunday school manuals, etc can pass their message across without mentioning JWs or watchtower. So among these two who is the aggressor or the persecutor? JWs spread hate among themselves against other denominations and at the same time claim they're hated and persecuted. 2 Likes |

Splinz: JWs are not perfect, but it is wrong of you to make suggestive attribution of "hooligans" at us because we defend the points we make from your Bible. Granted, at times emotions may run high, please forgive us, such is never a yardstick to judge us, other fellow respondents have been found wanting in their choice of words too. We don't intend to cause pain to anyone with our choice of words. However, JWs will say what the holy scriptures says, that will not always be palatable at all times. Shalom. 1 Like 1 Share |

Janosky: Imperfection is different from outright hypocrisy. Your fellow member obviously created this thread to try in his own capacity to spread the words of your kingdom and in doing so attracted some of us who knows the truth about JWs. Instead of comporting himself and pretend like you guys always pretend when knocking on doors, he decided to insult and threaten. Both on this thread and in offline world JWs are always the aggressors pretending to be victims of hate and persecution. |

Splinz: Amongst Jehovah’s Witnesses, there are some who haven’t attained a certain degree of spiritual maturity so while each person is working hard to put away old personality traits(Ephesians 4:22), it may happen that one gives way to emotional outbursts and the likes. No one amongst us is perfect(James 3:2), we’re all striving to put on a new personality befitting one professing godly devotion. Ephesians 4:24 Normally, there are some Scriptures that Witnesses are meant to keep in their heart when situations such as these arise. 2Timothy 2:23-24 “Further, reject foolish and ignorant debates, knowing that they produce fights. For a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, showing restraint when wronged,” 1 Like |

falseprophet: **Point 6 (w73 10/1 p. 607 Questions from Readers) Questions From Readers ● This would depend on the nature of the vow and the person’s circumstances at the time of making it. However, it is well first to consider what a “vow” is in the Bible sense. (w73 10/1 p. 607 Questions from Readers) In the Bible, vows were solemn promises made to God, not to any human or body of humans. They were also distinctive in that, in all cases described, the vows were always conditional. That is, the person making the vow, in effect, said to God: ‘If you will do thus and so (perhaps providing salvation from some grave danger or granting success or victory in some effort), I will do thus and so.’ If God acted on the person’s behalf, the one making the vow came under obligation to carry out what he had promised. Often payment of the vow involved making a sacrificial offering of an animal, or the devoting of some property to God’s service. (Lev. 7:16; 22:21) In other cases the conditional aspect entered in because the individual vowed to refrain from doing something until such time as he had been able to attain a certain goal—with the help of God.—Compare Genesis 28:20-22; Numbers 21:2, 3; 30:2-4; Judges 11:30-39; 1 Samuel 1:11; Psalm 132:1-5. It should also be noted that vows were something spontaneous, and hence unrequested, unsolicited. They were not something set forth as a general requirement for all who would enjoy a certain privilege or enter into a certain relationship. Hence, one’s becoming a disciple of Christ Jesus and fulfilling the requirements that are set for all persons, including repenting and turning around and making public declaration of one’s faith, and being baptized, do not involve a “vow” in the Scriptural sense. Because vows were conditional. That is, God I will do this for you,if you help me or save me from so so & so. 1 Peter 3:21 baptism is obligatory for salvation. Dedication and baptism goes hand in hand. Hebrews 10:9, Matthew 3:16-17Jesus is dedicated to "doing God's will" & was baptized. ** Point 7.. Bros, I don't know the Watchtower edition you got that from.. |

Janosky: You have not made any point, we both quoted from the same text, so? |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by Janosky: 9:17pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
falseprophet:Dedication' is commitment, zeal, single-minded devotion to a cause, or purpose. eg , Commitment to zealously do God's will. Biblical example Jesus, John 4:34. Mark 12:29-30, Mark 8:34, Jesus says do it ! Dedication and baptism are obligatory for salvation,1 Peter 3:21. Vow & dedication are different, though they appear to have close links. For instance,to pay your vows requires commitment to avoid default. A vow is a request for divine help or favor, hinged on certain specific conditions, biblical example Hannah. |

Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by OkCornel(m): 9:32pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
falseprophet: Both. The latter (Jesus’ sacrifice and grace) is the starting point, dedication is required to remain in the walk. It’s like a relationship, you don’t stop putting in efforts to make it work the moment your partner agrees to marry you (or agree to be in a relationship with you) 1 Like |

Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by falseprophet: 9:52pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
OkCornel: It can't be both! Here's why: Romans 9:16 - So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Do you really think you can attain salvation by works of righteousness (living up to your dedication)? Ephesians 2:8 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 2 Corinthians 5:21 - He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Christians are saved by ransom sacrifice of Christ through grace and not by living up to any dedication vow. 1 John 1:8 - If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Like I said earlier, JWs claim they believe in Jesus's ransom sacrifice but in reality they think they are saved because they love God and not because God love them, they think they are saved because they are righteous and not because of grace. |

Janosky: Jesus is still the Christ right? He is still the king of God's kingdom right? He hasn't resigned his leadership position in God's arrangement so therefore there's no vacuum for your governing body |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by Janosky: 9:57pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
falseprophet: Bros, you MUST LOVE GOD & disown yourself, na Jesus Christ talk. Else, Jesus ransom sacrifice alone won't save you. Bitter pill of Bible truth. |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by falseprophet: 9:58pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
Janosky: So insults and threats are normal for someone who claims to be living up to his dedication to do God's will right? I don't see how your emotions running wild became part of God's will |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by falseprophet: 10:00pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
Janosky: So you want to "help God" in saving you right? If Jesus's ransom sacrifice is not enough for you why not save yourself instead? |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by achorladey: 10:07pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
falseprophet: It is normal for imperfect Jehovah's witnesses but destruction for other Christian denominations. Like the other one said earlier some are spiritually mature than others. Using style to save face of their brother whom they already see has stepping over the line. The whole thing becomes a laughing matter considering the creator of thread had earlier cautioned JANOS too over this predicaments they find themselves. These ones hardly tow the line. Jumping out of order is just never far away no matter how civil you go about it. No be today dem start am. 1 Like |

Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by falseprophet: 10:11pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
OkCornel: No one is attacking JWs, what I have been doing here since I came in is talking about "dedication" and "governing body" which have proven to be the cornerstone of JWs teachings, since you can't find one verse in the bible that mentioned either it became an "attack on JWs" All watchtower publications cannot go one paragraph without attacking "christiendom" and "apostates", so until you provide where those two terms are mentioned in the bible your religion has nothing to do with the bible. |
Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by falseprophet: 10:13pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
