Sarto:Well, I have never heard about that course before. My advice is please check it well, you don’t wanna end up reading a course, that will be hard for you to get a job |

Sarto: Hi, I don't have full details of your previous academic background so my response based on my opinion would be brief. I think if you are tending towards a career in research as related to Human immune system and health especially during this pandemic era it won't be a bad choice . It may also be useful to the already big Pharma industry in Ireland. Its all about how your strategically position yourself in terms of Employment or better yet if you pass excellently well, you may be heading for a fully funded PhD program in e.g Effects of Covid Vaccine on Pregnant women (lol) on a lighter mood though. But I won't say its not a good course especially as the world is figuring out this covid , vaccines and possible future pandemic or epidemic |

Sarto: On the University website, what are the learning outcomes of the course? What jobs can you get when you graduate with the degree? Most schools provide these information and with that you can get an idea about if the job is on the critical skills list and also search on job websites to see the vacancy profile. It looks like it could be a good one and you will be better positioned if you have a background in the medical and pharmaceutical fields 2 Likes |

Hello everyone, I sent my Sister to help me collect my NECO certificate from my school and noticed there was a mistake in my name. An unknown initial was added. She then visited NECO board in Enugu and they said that to reprint a certificate takes time. I'm going for a postgraduate degree program. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Can you please advise on how I can work around this. I'm literally stocked with moving forward at the moment. Thanks all. |

Fausty01: You can go to any court near you to swear to an affidavit that states all of these. Attach the affidavit with the certificate and submit with your application. |

You don't need NECO to go for postgraduate program. Ir do we need it? Fausty01: |

seunny4lif: Thank you. However, I’m interested in experience from a student’s perspective. What’s it like? Is it expensive to own a car? Is it worth it considering the transportation system? What’s the advantage/ disadvantage? |

Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by Othniels: 10:39pm On Jul 08, 2021 |
Ok. lol. From a student perspective it is expensive for the following reasons. 1. A litre of fuel sells for around 1.34 to 1.56 euros. No fuel subsidy here. So a full tank of premium fuel will cost around 50euros or more. There are three grades of fuel. The less quality one cost less but burns faster. Diesel is cheaper. Electric is the cheapest (govt gives subsidy for green cars) 2. Here we drive on the left side of the road and the driver's side is on the right hand drive of the car. It will take some relearning to get used to and as a student you may break some rules and incur penalty points on your drivers license…….. thats if you manage to get one before you finish your program. Its pretty challenging to get one now. Although you can use your Nigerian drivers license but the moment you get a GNIB, its required you acquire an Irish drivers license. 3. Besides the cost of a car here, not too expensive for a good 2nd hand though, the biggest cost will be insurance. 3rd party doesn't work here as such. For a newbie, your insurance will be high. Its not like Nigeria where insurance rates are usually flat for both comprehensive and 3rd party. Here there are a lot of other factors that determine your insurance. And that insurance is over important. You must not switch on the engine of a car without insurance….kidding…. actually you must not drive a car without insurance. 4. Here you pay for parking. Everywhere. Infact for your student accommodation car park, you may pay as high as 600 euros for a year. For street parking, there are flat rates for zones. Bottom line.. no free parking for over 95% of places, even in the college car park. 5. There is very good transport system everywhere in the city. With a student leap card, you pay approx 1.6 euro for everywhere you move to regardless of the distance. So, make your choice. Why would you want to put yourself in so much stress owning a car when you have less need of it as a student. Philadelphia: 2 Likes |

Philadelphia: The lower the cost of the car is, the higher will the insurance become. As a student, your premiums will also be high. Add to the fact that you will be a first time driver here in Ireland, my advice will be to forget the car option and focus on your study. There will be enough time once you are working to drive. Many roles also provide a company car especially for engineering jobs. 1 Like |

Dwebb55: Bros, owning a car doesn’t not mean that one isn’t focused on studying. Have you seen anyone who got a visa just to go drive in another man’s country? The essence of owning a car is for easy mobility to meet with various appointments on time. Hence, the thoughts of an affordable mobility option. While your opinion is appreciated, owning a car doesn’t translate to losing focus on academics/ studies. 1 Like |
