The simple understanding is:

John doesn't socialize because he's never found in any social gathering so the Pharisees concluded that he must be under the influence of a demon.
Jesus does mix with different kind of persons, eat and drinks whatever is served just like anyone else so they concluded he eats to much, drinks irresponsibly, a friend of all kinds of people all because he doesn't discriminate.

That's what it means Sir, and as for alcohoic beverages God never condemned it because it's found written in His laws that His people can by and drink! Deuteronomy 14:26

So stop judging people over what they eat or drink! Matthew 15:12-20 smiley

true2god:
You didn't look at the context properly and have no understanding of when a hyperbolic statement is made. Part of the text said:
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.
From your understanding:
1) John the Baptist never ate any food
2) John never drink any wine, hence
3) John the Baptist must have a demon because the Pharisees said so.
A rational person will understand that John ate, drank wine and has no demon but he devoted most of his life fasting and always fed of locust and wild honey.
Now let’s look at the other part:
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.
From your understanding:
1) Jesus came eating and drinking (that is drinking ‘ogoro’, beer or other strong drinks the same way JWs do)
2) Jesus was a friend of tax collectors (modern day ‘agberos’ touts, or NURTW)
3) Jesus was a friend to sinners (since the Pharisees or the Jews said so)
Of course you cannot choose where the Jews called ‘a drunkard’ and ignore where they also called John the baptist 'demon-possessed'. Was Jesus a drunkard? No! Was a John the Baptist demon-possessed? No!
You are justifying drunkenness by misinterpreting the scriptures. This is a lie and a deceit the watchtower had been feeding you. Stop drinking alcohol.

When Jesus said John the baptist didn't come eating and drinking so you think he was talking about someone who doesn't drink water, shey? cheesy
Well when a Jew feels your eating and drinking is wrong is not food and water it simply means such a person can eat or drink with all kinds of people.
For your information that's why Paul rebuked Peter openly because Peter wants to separate himself from gentiles during meals! Galatians 2:11-14
God never condemned alcohoic beverages but the Pharisees outrightly condemned it among the Jews due to the warnings in the Hebrew-Aramaic scriptures (OT) smiley

true2god:

’Eating and drinking’ does not mean ‘Eating and drinking alcohol’. As a matter of fact 99% of human eat and drink only water while eating. So from your English lexicon, according to the watchtower lexicon, drinking mean ‘taking alcohol’.
You have to go back to school if that’s what you have been told to believe.

true2god:
Look at the text again:
And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after…
The context, ordinarily looked as if God permitted an unlimited lust and pleasure, was actually a test to the children of Isreal on moderation and how to spend their tithe. If you look at the text from the literal point of view that God approved excesses and gluttony, then you are not a student of the scripture. If you compare other scriptures where God strongly condemned the use of strong drink you will get the context more properly. You don’t establish a doctrine using an isolated Bible verse.
Look at Prover 6:30;Men do not despise a thief, if he steal To satisfy himself when he is hungry.
If you agree that God permitted you to use strong drinks, do you also think a man can steal to satify his hunger? Context is key bro!
God told the Israelites not to kill a thief because he stole due to his needs so if he is caught make him work hard to repay the stolen items back to the own in seven folds.
This is just because the thief will be made to work hard and earn money by himself and in that process he will get used to making a living for himself (legally) so while the stolen items is not to be taken from him he must pay seven times what he stole which is a way of pacifying the rightful owner. So no one looses the thief will take his stolen items but repay it back to the owner seven times!

Jesus turned water into wine and not strong drink or alcohol. We have non-alcholic wines in the market. If coke, Pepsi, Mirinda, etc were available at the time of Jesus, they will be classified as wine as well.
Don't add to God's word Sir, the Bible never mentioned the type of wine Jesus turned the water to. But we can discern from what the MC said:

“Everyone else puts out the fine wine first, and when people are intoxicated, the inferior. You have saved the fine wine until now.” John 2:10

So according to the MC the wine Jesus turned water to can surely get people drunk if taken excessively! smiley

You are the one parroting the watchtower narrative without thinking for yourself. If you think for yourself you will see some of the errors in the watchtowers doctrines. Many people had seen the errors and they left your organization. And to blackmail them you call them apostates, infidels, mentally ill (as some other derogatory terms) even if they leave and join another Christian group.
If you're not with us then you can't be a Christian (believers in what Jesus said) because you will start doing exactly what Jesus condemned just as you're doing now setting rules over food and drinks when Jesus said we must not judge people by food and drinks! Matthew 15:17

Your organization call anyone who leaves JW as ‘MENTALLY ILL’ If you leave the organization tomorrow they will also call you ‘MENTALLY ILL’

Well listen and learn, a Christian should always be happy it's only when struggling with inborn sinful nature that a Christian needed to be remorseful (sober) not when living according to the righteousness of God which he knows!
So if your Pastors told you to be sober always we are JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES the fulfilment of all the promises Jesus made in the first century regarding pure worship. We are joyous always because everything Jesus foretold about pure worship in the last days is coming true with us! smiley

You've tried a lot with this account but there's one thing you failed to realise:
There are thousands of different religious groups on this planet, each group is claiming they're worshipers of the true God, they have leaders in each sect directing the affairs of each group, they have developed various forms of standard (conflicting and contradicting) so throughout the earth there is this mixed feelings that it's not necessary you belong to a specific group since everyone knows what is right and wrong. With this any religion that's having a edge above all others will certainly become the main focus as in center of attraction {Matthew 5:13-16} and surely few individuals who wants to be on the highest mountain (pure worship) will drop whatever religion they're born into when they discover the highest.
However envious people who don't care about any standard but strongly believe in their own sense of reasoning will feel hurt seeing humans like themselves each fully prepared to subject himself or herself to just one single Organization. John 15:19, 17:14
That's exactly what you and others are trying to establish here. But as God would have it it has been prophesied in the Bible that in the last days pure worship will rise up above all other forms of worship and people from all races will submissively troop in.
Micah 4:1

Therefore as i said the first time you posted on this thread with this account i will repeat again:

On behalf of the entire association of Jehovah's Witnesses globally, we really appreciate your contribution on this thread because the highlighted in your post below has said it all about God's people! 1Peter 2:12

The guy actually associated with JWs as a means to chase our JW sister to convert her to his epistle not because he has genuine interest to worship JEHOVAH.

Re: Study The Bible With Jehovah's Witnesses 1 by MaxInDHouse(m): 6:23am On Jul 09, 2021
That's how a sister in the neighbourhood got herself into a big mess till now.
She was in the field ministry in her late teens and due to her ravishing beauty a one young man (film producer) proposed to her in the field. She agreed but told him that her parents and all her people will not give their consent if the young man is not one of JWs.
The guy agreed and started studying. You know a sister shouldn't continue such a study so our sister transferred the study to her father (elder) who later found out that the young man is interested in his daughter, brother immediately transferred the study to another elder and told him the guys intention.
So while the guy is studying our brothers told him it's wrong for him to come into our midst for marriage, we only give our consent to brothers and sisters who are already serving our God not someone whose intention was to marry a JW. The elders met and deliberate on the matter with prayer. My brother, that's the time i began to fear the born again in our midst! embarassed
Do you know that after the prayers the boy was studying seriously as if he's prepared to worship our God? This boy stopped smoking, heavy drinking, fornicating and late night partying all in a pretext to marry our sister.
So the elders in his congregation reviewed his study after 14 months and he became baptized. Instantly he showed his desire that he will like to marry the sister who is now 20 years. The father told him that the matter is in the hands of the elders in his congregation, whatever they say is what he will go buy. The young man got annoyed and reported the matter to the girls mother who now gave him all the support by going to speak with all the elders involve. Out of about 9 elders the only born again brother is the one who said he will not agree with the arrangement, if the young man wants to marry one of JWs he's free to choose any other sister but not that one he targeted. The girls mother began quarrelling with our born again brother who later said:

"God's holy spirit said the road is not clear, please let him marry another sister but if you insist on giving your daughter to him there is nothing anyone can do, she is your daughter and the man is now baptized. But the spirit says we shouldn't allow him"

They got married and after three children the young man left the organization and went back to his former life. Now sister is around 36 years the beauty is still there but you know our brothers now no one want her so she has to remain single for the rest of her life! embarassed

According to the Bible book of Genesis 1:28

Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”

The colored says "Be fruitful and become many" now one of my Bible students asked the question:
"if truly God instructed us to bear Children, how come some servants of God in Bible times never had children?"

So let's deliberate on this as the first topic of our Bible study! smiley

The past participle of drink (verb) is drunk. 'Drunk' when used as a adjective means 'to be intoxicated' and when used as a noun means 'a habitual drinker'.

The term as used in the passage is a verb. Jesus will not give people drink that will make them generally intoxicated thus likely to misbehave. Stop attaching your official waywardness to Jesus.

When I used the term 'cocaine' I am talking about the crack or raw cocaine that makes people high. Since God never condemned what you eat or eat, you can as well go into the consumption of marijuana and crack cocaine, especially if your soul lusted after it (DEUT 14:26). Why will you take strong drink (that makes you high) and not take crack cocaine and marijuana (both equally make you high and God never condemned what you eat or drink).

So if God never condemned alcohoic beverages you can make it a rule for yourself and stick to it based on your own personal opinion but don't make it a rule for others because God's word never condemned alcohoic beverages!

"And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household" Deuteronomy 14:26 smiley

That's my own cup of coffee!
Whatever i eat or drink is none of your business what God's word forbids is written in the Bible book of Galatians 5:19-21
And as long as i'm exerting myself to meet up with the qualities of God's Holy Spirit as recorded at Galatians 5:22-23 there is no law you can put up against me! wink

true2god:

When I used the term 'cocaine' I am talking about the crack or raw cocaine that makes people high. Since God never condemned what you eat or eat, you can as well go into the consumption of marijuana and crack cocaine, especially if your soul lusted after it (DEUT 14:26). Why will you take strong drink (that makes you high) and not take crack cocaine and marijuana (both equally make you high and God never condemned what you eat or drink).

Your aggression and uncouthness make you undeserving for any response.

If you're interested in the study session now is the time to kick off, the below is a question from a Bible student. Let's deliberate on that and leave the arguments for now. Your ability to convince your listeners is what will make them reason along with you not some judgmental opinion that God never mandated.

MaxInDHouse:
According to the Bible book of Genesis 1:28

Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”

The colored says "Be fruitful and become many" now one of my Bible students asked the question:
"if truly God instructed us to bear Children, how come some servants of God in Bible times never had children?"

So let's deliberate on this as the first topic of our Bible study! smiley

You need to try cocaine or marijuana. I am no longer judging you.

Easy for him to say others judge him. When placed in the same shoe. They cry blue murder.
