Good evening house, please I’m having difficulty booking my medical test, all dates are booked, no more date until after August 30 which is just 2weeks before my resumption, what can be done about this please?

Good morning,
Have you been able to book your medical test please? I'm having difficulty in booking as well and their line isn't going through. I'm booking for two and that's why I need to know how to go about it from an experienced person. Kindly reach me via my mail st.brightwealth22@gmail.com

Hello everyone.

Please I got an offer to study MBA with Data analytics in the university of Bedfordshire, does anyone have any idea of the school and what to expect? It's a two year course

I also got an offer to study International Finance MA in the university of Greenwich, a one year course.

The fees for both is actually the same.

I'm having a hard time deciding which to go.

MBA Data Analytics is the best option. Data is the future and the MBA gives you an edge anywhere.

They are having network issue lately. It's actually not going through.

However, just go to the bank and make the payment. Scan your receipt, then send them a mail and attach the receipt.

After sending the mail, you will most likely get a call from them and you will be told to come with your receipt and passport to their office for the medical test.

All the best.
good evening, how much exactly are we to pay for the test please?

Below 11 years of age, 60USD = NGN23,120.

11 years old and above is 150USD = NGN57,800.

My little advise, proceed to the Uk. You have more opportunities there in IT, Poland wages are very low because I keep seeing people from Poland move into Germany for better jobs in IT. You will rarely see someone moving from Uk to Germany because of wages, their earnings are very similar.

The Pound Sterling is currently valued at 700 Naira to 1 Pound, before that God-forsaken Buhari leaves, It will be 1000 Naira to 1 Pound in 2023 which is 2 years from now.

Go and spend that 8Million, you won't regret.

I'm in this same exact dilemma and I've got only two months to make a decision.

Most people are not planning on what happens after the two years post study work expires.

They don't know you will have to switch to another visa inorder to stay back otherwise you will find your way home.

So I really advice that as you are planning for your studies, you should also plan on your options if you want to stay back. Have a backup plan in place.

My candid advice.

I know very well that with the 2 years psw, you can take up any employment, but make sure you take up employment with a company that can sponsor you after the 2 years psw expires.

What are other back up plans someone can explore? I'm more interested in that.

One of the best backup plan is to transition to the Global Talent route where you will be given a 3 or 5 year visa depending on whether you are an expert or promising expert respectively.

With the visa, you can work for any employer, self employed or do both without needing any sponsorship.

All you need is a sponsorship from one of the government approved bodies.

So from this, all you need is to know what is required for the endorsements and start preparing it. If it means learning an additional skill, you do so while you are still studying for your degree.

My candid advice.

Spot on!!! The global talent route is one of the best open-hidden secrets. You see a lot of indians taking advantage of this route, even from their home country. I believe we should even have a dedicated thread for Just global talent route, lets be able to exchange more experiences from going through this route. Oga @justwise..Is it ok if I open a thread for discussion on the global talent route? ejo. For now I get a lot of resource from https://discourse.tnvisaforum.org/. But I believe, we should have our own thread in nairaland, infact there should be a natural progression from this student thread to that thread. I do not plan to give mama charlie my GBP 1,900 when there is a less expensive route that already puts one on the path to ILR in three to five years without ties to a job. Mba!

Please I will like to get som clarification about Leeds Beckett as I am considering their conditional offer. I intend to study Data Science (Msc) with placement year. Kindly update me on the minimum deposit required for CAS and I will also like to know if the 14k tuition will be paid for each year of study or split into two for the 2years just like the case of Teesside University. Also, how is student life in Leeds especially with respect to part time Jobs for students.

What course are u doing and is it January session?
Santa2:

@akanniade samething salford did to me.. Meanwhile I got stress free admission to Leeds Beckett over GBP 4000 less than salford on same course. About rounding up my first semester now and am grateful I went the beckett route(more friendly to my pocket. lol). My advise to prospective student would be to get as must industry relevant skill set as possible. And look at industry relevant internships while studying as this would provide you with experience (even if your school doesn't do placement). I am yet to get an internship but I believe I would get one soon. We moueeve

Please I need advice on something. If I am married to a resident with ILR and the 2 years elapses, what happens? Would I still have to go back to Nigeria? Also, do the 20 hours of work per week apply to students married to holders of ILR with kids?

Please any information about student job in Hull. I am planning to apply for Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics.
I am waiting for Hull to update their fees for 2022/23 intake and hoping it remains at same level with UK citizens as it was this year. I want to apply for Msc Biomedical science, planning on using student loan and work to slug it out. I am a medical lab scientist and will complete my portfolio there to work in UK NHS hopefully if things work out well.

Most of these school have similar payment plans tbh best to look online for cost of living and economy of both cities. Most people won't be able to tell you first hand information about two university towns.
Your decision will depend on the school's specialities especially with regards to the course you're interested in.

One advise I would give prospective student is this. When seeking admission, if aligns with your plans, pick January start over September start(that's if, Jan start is available in your intended school). Why? You get upto three(four in some cases) months of holiday where you can work full time). If you are a hardworking and resourceful person you can use this period to save up some reserve. But before you do, please confirm from your school if they can issue you a term date letter. This shows the period when you will be on in term time and on vacation. A lot of employers would require it during your holiday, when you intend to work full time. You can always confirm the status of your right to work from this link https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work . you might have to show these to some employers if they have issues with changing you from part-time to full-time (as some of them are clueless, when if comes to these matters). You can actually earn up to a little less than 2k at just above min wage rate working 48 hrs a week. Also a prudent lifestyle would also help one save up more.

Can't people come together to take this opportunity and then they can become employers of Nigerians. I believe these are the ways the indians and Chinese are growing

Please I need the opinion of those living in the UK on this. I would be grateful to find help.

My dream is to be a lecturer here in Nigeria and I am currently on a PhD in one of the federal institutions, but the demands of work as the head of a publishing firm isn't allowing the work to progress as I'ld love. I am therefore considering relocating to the UK with my wife and kid to study for another Masters and then follow up with a PhD. But my fear is that the tuition in UK would kill me. Although the Master's tuition won't be a problem, but to pay around £18,000 every year for PhD might be difficult considering I'll only have 20 hours to work per week. I wish to ask those already in the UK, if it possible to raise that much every year with the support of my wife. My thinking (Correct me if I am wrong) is that a PhD from UK would enhance my career prospect in the UK and any other advanced countries of the world, should I decide to stay back.

I look forward to your opinions.

18k GBP in one year!!! Wonderful.

Assume your spouse works 40 hours per week at a wage rate of 9.8 GBP per hour for 52 weeks (No vacation/resting/unemployment):

40*9.8*52 = 20384GBP = 1698 GBP per month

Assume you work 20 hours per week at a wage rate of 9.8 GBP per hour for 52 weeks (No vacation/resting/unemployment):

849 GBP.

Total family gross earnings = 2547 GBP per month

18K GBP per year = 1500 GBP per month

Amount left after school fees: 1047 GBP

Not considered:

Accommodation
Feeding
Transportation
Basic supplies
Tax
Child expenses (if any)

All to be done inside 1050 GBP monthly!

Goodluck!
