Movement of people in search of jobs within the same country isn't a problem. Most Northern youths who go to south in search of jobs have no conventional education, or are Nigeriens. Northerners go to south after rainy season farming but all sort of Southerners come down to North for all kinds of jobs.
The OP made a very good point, most of ignorant Nairalanders either don't know what development is or are trying to cover the poverty, hardship, illiteracy, and social vices of their communities. I've been to the nooks and crannies of Nigerian states, I saw a lot of things and learnt that those Nairalanders calling North derogatory names are living in cities like Lagos, PHC or major towns and don't know the sufferings of their people in villages. Many young boys/girls are not going to School in some southern villages, the level of illiteracy is relatively high, child prostitution is common, incestuous relationships are rampant but their religious leaders and Politicians are telling u Northern problems only.
In Germany, school pupils were asked by their teacher to draw Africa and to his greatest dismay they all drew filthy people, malnourished, living in huts. Later he projected the images of some cities of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Côte De Voir, South Africa and tell them these are also Africa, they were deeply surprised by the view of some African continent. However, those cities doesn't mean there are no ugly cities like those in West Africa. Is it not laughable for any Nigerian to call others underdeveloped?
This is analogous to how people living in southern Nigeria see North!
Can't u for once reason of the number of Northerners in all sectors of govt and we still complain of unemployment? Do u mean without degrees we can occupy all those positions?
Northern population is high and culture made it difficult for some people to embrace conventional education but when south keep sleeping and perpetually believe Northerners don't go to school they'll definitely receive the most shocking eventuality soonest.
Thousands of Northerners get more lucrative scholarships than FG scholarships and study abroad annually in the field of medicine, Engineering, sciences and Aviation. Now, there are many Northerners in most southern FG Universities in both academic and non academic units....

Op's post is too deep for kids like you to understand. Only the wise and highly observants will code the Op' message. Right now, there is scholarship for almost all the core northern people in big private schools in Abuja, Kaduna et. al. Their undergraduate students enjoy full scholarship both home and abroad, postgraduates are everywhere in top Asian/UK universities learning engineering, technology and sciences.

Talk about infrastructure, the road network in the north is far better than the whole of East and West. The north is planning ahead of the raining days, worse come to worse if the country splits, they would return to agriculture full force and work on the mineral deposits they have been enjoying alone(Zamfara and co..).

The way you have explained it is more of a fact and it's the reality on ground.

The way you have analyzed the economic and education of what's obtainable in Nigeria compared to the OP I replied to is way way different.

Been to most parts of the country also and I agree with you that things are going from bad to worse in the south as our youths here are only interested in quick money making ventures wether good or bad they don't care as long as it's easy money.

But there is room for much more improvement in the North if the governor's can get it right.

Lets be logical here, cut of mark in anambra is 138 while in zamfara is 2, that means lot of northern students will be admitted in zamfara schools while in Anambra, lot of south east students who dont meet the requirements will be exempted.

Lets be realistic, nothing still changes, both places are still less developed just that the northern student has an advantage to move up the schooling system unlike the south Eastern student, at the end, the zamfara student gets a state scholarship to further his education in the state university while the Anambra student is left behind due to lack of support.
