This is a final of a big tournament. How many finals has Saka been to? Has he had that kind of situation before? Is he even Arsenal's PK taker?

How many finals have the Italian players played? Legends are made in situations like this.

Exactly. Spanish defenders aren't as disciplined like those old guards of Italy. After England scored early, if it was Spain, England will score more.

You are talking as If Spain did not play Italy. Italy played Spain, scored first but did not score more.

Spain would have dominated the game even better than the Italians.

It is a joke to choose Saka to play a penalty over Jack Grealish. Like how?

I disagree. Belotti put in fantastic shifts for Italy when he played for them. He was also good today.

It is down to the coach. If Enrique was the one coaching this English team, I can assure you they would have outplayed the Italians in every part of the game.

It is disappointing they have players working with Guardiola, Klopp, Tuchel, Bielsa, Rodgers, Hassenhutl and a host of others and chose to stick with a coach who is scared of playing the philosophy the players are working under every day.

Very shocking bro. I used to think Mctominay and Fred of Man united where shocking at ball progression, but Rice and Phillips are worse. Those Man united players are levels above them in midfield. At least Mctominay and Fred can ping incisive passes only that they are not consistent.

The fact that Maguire, Shaw and Sometimes stones are the ones progressing the ball from the back for them instead of those two midfielders, was the beginning of their problem in this tourney. Any time they met a decent team , those two guys literarily just surrender the ball to them. The sign has been there since the Pre - Euro friendly against Austria , where those ones outplayed them for 90 minutes, but won via a Penalty, happened against Croatia and Scotland too. They only manage to Outplay Czech and Ukraine in the whole tournament in midfield.

Southgate is a draw back to English football. Many will get carried away with him getting to finals but he coached that team terribly and it showed in this final game.

The English team could hardly string passes. He opted for a defensive set up after the equalizer.

He is lost with handling creative players like Grealish, Foden, Rashford, Bellingham, Sancho etc.

I hope he leaves that Job soon.

Congratulations to Italy, especially Mancini. He is such a winner and has done a brilliant job with the Italian side.
would you have thought from the beginning of the tournament england could go all the way to the finals? was there any player you mentioned here he didn't give a chance to feature....england had one of the best performance in tournaments in this EUROs, kudos to southgate and the team.

They need a bit of skill and finesse to do that. But they don't have it. I guess that's why Leeds are looking in Nwakali's direction.

They have good individual players but not a good team. Individual brilliance of Sterling brought them out of group stage. Even against Denmark, it was an huff and puff everywhere.

Look at the Italian and Spanish team, look at the way they play and the technical quality they posses, from the coach to the smallest players. Look at the level of coordination in the play compared to England. Even the likes of Austria and Switzerland play good football with their low quality players.

England still has a long way to go when it comes to playing proper football. Fortunately for them, they have individual talents to help them do tournament shithousery by getting into latter stages of competition
Exactly.

Best performance is a joke. They were far better teams than England in this tournament. They were not even close to Switzerland and Austria when it comes to Coordination and bravery.

As I said, people will get carried away with them getting to the finals but if they met the likes of Spain, Italy, Portugal or Belgium along the way they would not have gotten this far.

With the kind of talents at their disposal, it is criminal to use those guys in such a distasteful manner.

Those two are stiff as f*k when they are on the ball. They are both pure DM and Southgate is using two of them, coupled with the 5 defenders at the back. and you wonder why they can't hold possession against decent teams. grin grin

Even Rohr no fit use this much defensive players in a game. Like WTF !!!! grin

distasteful? a team that conceded only two goals in open play, england played top ranked croatia and germany.

The Plain truth is that with the kind of stars England has, their game should be far better than this. Nobody has world class players as much as England.

Meanwhile England is ranked higher than Croatia and Germany.
