They were great as individual players but as a team, there was zero cohesion. That's the difference.

For example I have seen better players play for the Azzuris over the years but as a team, this is one of the Best Azzuris I have seen in my lifetime. It's a case of the Whole being greater than the sum of it's parts.

Dayo, this is basic human management concept in team approach and it transcends just football or sports. It involves psychology, motivation, leadership and purpose. You have to remember, tournaments are shorter termed competitions lasting 3-4 weeks depending on how far the team goes.

More importantly, each player is arriving the National team from different teams with different team cultures/ identity and now have to adjust to whatever the situation is at the National team. I am not making excuses for the fake Golden generation but the role of chemistry can never be overestimated, Infact, it is the most important factor.

Honestly Hazard cut a picture of unseriousness that day.
