Monogamy:If not for business that will yield more profits than the investment, it is unwise getting loan for wedding. Cos some actually have got more returns from their wedding ceremony through cash and give. This is still wise if they got loan to finance the wedding. 1 Like |

SanctifiedSista:which one is having a reliable way to pay back? A lady who loves her man won’t let the man pass through any debt or be indebted to people to finance a wedding which can be done with a low budget 8 Likes 1 Share |

Loan for wedding? Some people do it and are still paying the money till now.... Myself and my wife saved up our money together in a separate bank account, that's how we were able to fund our wedding.... Infact we even shifted wedding when we discovered that the required money is not upto our targeted budget (though we have not printed/announced date then)... I no fit dey pay gbese after people don chop free food finish go their house 1 Like |

Nobody should take a loan for a wedding. If you both love each other, you both pull your money and contribute towards the wedding. Reasonable enough to do small wedding with very few friends and family. 1 Like |

I see nothing wrong with it, if they both have a laid down plan of paying the loan, they can go ahead with it, if anyone wants to make their once in a lifetime wedding a memorable and flamboyant event, it is no one's business. 2 Likes |

SanctifiedSista: Love your woman? Should people even borrow money for wedding to start with not to talk of loans. So a guy has means of getting loans all this while and he couldn't take the loans earlier for business that would yield profits to fund the wedding..But waiting until the wedding time to take loams.. Such person can never be responsible in that marriage cos after the wedding, fresh bills would pile up . And let's look at it this way, someone taking loans for wedding means such person never ready for marriage.. Are there no plans for future? Must people even do elaborate wedding self if it's something they can't afford comfortably? 1 Like |

Amotolongbo: So a man should turn 50 before he marries because he is saving up for it or the parents should give d woman to the man for free because he claims he loves her Abeg, if ur woman is not worth taking a loan to do d right thing, rest..marriage is for men not boys unugo 1 Like |

SanctifiedSista: No, I mean big NO. A friend attended a wedding, which all the guest are not up to 20.. Meanwhile, both couples leave outside the country.. This is not about them not having money to lavish for the wedding, but for what? Even the crowd things self to me is unnecessary.. Na me wan marry no be people wan marry for me.. Those wedding paparazzi are not really necessary 1 Like |

moriss33: On the first instance, why should a guy go to extra miles to get money for his wedding? To impress/oppress who? The wife, Wife's family? The crowd? Well, all depends on the type of partner and the future plans they both have cos paparazzi wedding shouldn't be on the list of " I never standard people" |

Yh! This very act is mostly caused by having ungrateful partners, in-laws who want to please people they hardly know. A sensible person knows it's a financial disaster to borrow money from May we not find our selfs in such situation!!! |

A typical man always wants to impress...na nature, u can't fight it. If u check am 4rm humans down to fowl sef the urge to impress the female gender is always dia. In the case of a wedding...I think it's to impress wife, her family & the crowd. Wetin society dey expect 4 man hand in this Nigeria eh....its a miracle if most men get to the age of 70...cuz wahala plenty. Monogamy: |

No sensible woman will let his man take a loan for her wedding. Most times, the wife is oblivious of that loan. After the wedding party and the crowd goes home, it will remain only you, your wife and the thoughts of a loan to repay 1 Like |

moriss33: @ bolded is why one needs to be self independent and self matured when it comes to decision making. You see for Nigeria eh, things are not really that hard economically compared to other African countries, even some western countries self. Money flows , some how , some how but the problem is, we spend money on so many unnecessary things.. Let's talk about weekend party itself, some people attend at least 2 weekend parties in a month.. They will buy Aso Ebi, gift present to the person doing the party, spray money to the celebrants all for a plate of rice and chicken and beers.. Something you could afford at the comfort of your house and still save 600%. Na from there poverty dey start.. Nigeria government should make a law where weddings that do not last up to 2 years, the couples should refund the money for the Aso Ebi.. |
