Same people wailing and crying that "na only Dangote dey dis country, all government have been giving him soft landing and monopoly over everything in Nigeria, from Salt to sugar to noodles to cement, to spaghetti etc, na only him dey dis country?!" They are now the same species of humans saying " Why Dangote no invest for that kind biz if he dey lucrative"? Metrix147: Solid minerals mining in Nigeria is largely unregulated, from Zamfara to Ijero to Lokpaukwu. Companies just go to Abuja and arrange one kind license, then they make arrangements with the local community and then start mining. Extracts are then exported. FG is wholly unaware and unbothered about what is going on. |

When you talk and say why can't we achieve the same level or even half the development in the advanced countries - Nigerians will say Rome was not built in a day what a very stupid excuse. But our politicians can match up with theirs in terms of luxury and the rest. South Korea a country Nigeria was financially better of in the 60s is now among the most developed countries in the world by sheer hard work and the willingness to have a a great country. But here we are no innovation, no plan, no future. People are just having sex all over the place that is the best thing we are good at. 4 Likes |

Don't mind this people... Chinese have takeover Nigeria., and they wanted to collect another money from Korean government. Instead of them to invest on it. Our government is really bad. I'm granite supplier... If you know the hell of money Chinese government is making from this business you'll feel sorry for Nigeria and many generations to come.... All this for media showoffs, nothing will come out of it. How many times have we heard the news like this. You think South Korea will invest in your mining sector without a clear path to recoup their investments. People should get this straight, no foreign investor is a father Christmas, they are all here for their own benefits, not Nigeria. If Nigerian mining sector is so profitable that will lure the foreigners, by that level it will be better to make them partner with Nigerian local miners to make the business mutually beneficial between Nigeria and Korea. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Lol. A comparative tale of two different countries - one is a progressive and cohesive haven of prosperity; the other is a failed colonial experiment that has continued to exist on mass deaths, injustices, and underdevelopment. Nigeria established it's Ajaokuta Steel Company in the 60s while the Koreans also founded their Pohang Steel Limiteds (PoSCO) in 1968. Today, POSCO has been the bedrock of Korean industrialization through the 70s, 80s and 90s, and is now the third largest Steel Maker in the world, churning out millions of tons. On the other hand, 60 years after Ajaokuta, Nigeria is yet to be industrialized, and Ajaokuta, a failed exercise that has been concessioned and reconcessioned many times, has failed to produce even a single steel despite always adjudged at 98% completion every year. Like the Power Sector and the Lagos-Ibadan project, it has become another cashing out cow for successive Governments Nigeria defies existential logic 4 Likes |
