What? Not sure what you're trying to say here, but if Plumptre is to play, then she and Osi Ohale would pair up in the CD, with Onome being on the bench. Plumptre and Onome typically play as LCB, so they are direct subs for each other. Really? And here you were, being upset with me about Glory Ogbonna, yet you don't even know that she played as LB? Wonderful! JohnBullMySon: |

GeneralDae:The back still has enough people to keep her on the bench. But her long balls are accurate oh, it fed the attack well during the summer series friendlies. Heard she's a winger too, like Alozie. |

AkinDS:Are you saying that Onome cannot play both 5 and 6 very well? I'm not very conversant with this team as with their male counterparts so I may forget some names. Also, when was I upset with you about the lady in question? I didn't even say anything regarding the penalty foul. |

JohnBullMySon: Maybe in a few years. But right now Ohale is the best defender we have. 2 Likes |

What about Ngozi Ebere? Also I wonder why people rarely talk about Nicole Payne, the coach can at least try her out as well. |

BascoVanVeli:I thought it was Onome. I watched both during Afcon and World Cup. Is Ohale injured? |

JohnBullMySon: During the Summer Series, Glory Ogbonna was our left back against Portugal and Jamaica while against the US, Glory Ogbonna moved to the center Back position alongside Ebi and Okeke with Tony Payne playing as Left Wing Back... |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 10:24pm On Jul 18, 2021 |
JohnBullMySon: Plumptre bench who?? Hahaha Osinachi Ohale is Coach Randy Waldrum no.1 center Back, they both have known each other since 2014, Osinachi played for him during her stint with Houston Dash, he calls Ohale her Best Defender, right now Ohale and Ebi are still our first choice Center Back, Ebi and Ashleigh plays thesame position so they're like to like Changes, Ashleigh is automatically Ebi replacement with Zogg coming in for Ohale.. |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 11:25pm On Jul 18, 2021 |
Onome is predominantly left footed, even though she is ambidextrous and can play as LCB and RCB. For many years when she partnered Osi Ohale, she played as LCB. If Plumptre is to come in, because the coach might be thinking of grooming her for the LCB (she is much more younger than Onome), she will have to play as LCB, since she is left footed. The left backs have been Ngozi Ebere, Glory Ogbonna and Patricia George (in chronological order). I believe Patricia George will take over the role once she heals. JohnBullMySon: |

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 1:38am On Jul 19, 2021 |
Yes, but looking forward, Patricia is a lot faster than her and would be the first pick at the LB position. I prefer her at CB, with her height and ability to read the game extremely well. The weak spots are DM (with Halimat out for a while and Rita Chikwelu not the fastest out there), not sure who can really map into that position well enough. The perfect trio in the midfield for me would have been Halimat, Rash and Toni. We really need to look for someone who can pick up that mantle, especially, defensively. Would have liked to see the Benfica SL girl Christy Ucheibe or Regina Otu tryout there. Schemerkhiz: |

AkinDS: Ashleigh Plumptre is coming in as a Center Back especially Onome Ebi spot.. I only mentioned the other positions she could possibly play well... As for the Left Back Spot Patricia George have got a lot of potential ahead of Glory Ogbonna and Co...... Defensive Midfield, Rita Chikwelu still remains Randy first pick, Benfica SL Christy Ucheibe and Minsk FK Regina Otu are the other options... Halimatu Ayinde is Center Midfielder/Box-to-Box, though can play the DM very well being versatile player... |

Thanks for the videos, by the way. If I had to hazard a pick between Christy and Regina, I will go with Regina. Faster, more aggressive in the tackle and is a better ball distributor. I also like her overall awareness and command of the midfield. I doubt if she would last with FC Minsk, as I feel she would be poached soon for a better league. Schemerkhiz: |

AkinDS: She was about to sign for Madrid CFF in 2019 December but Edo Queens crashed the move. Just her performance during the Olympics qualifiers got the Spanish coach to like her.. Minsk FK can't risk losing her for two games within this Austra camp period that's why she wasn't release, since they haven't secured their UEFA Women's Champions League slot yet, Belarus have just two (2) UWCL spot

Wouldn't be surprised if another better team nicks her. I think she has the potential to become a very good player. Schemerkhiz: |

Ifeoma Onumonu provides crucial assist as Gotham FC upend Washington Spirit Ifeoma Onumonu (Gotham FC) The Nigerian forward provided the much-needed assist which resulted in Gotham FC’s winning goal in the course of her side’s 2-3 win over Washington Spirit in the United States of America (USA) National Women Super League (NWSL) game on Sunday. Trinity Rodman scored the first goal of the game for the host, Washington Spirit in the 13th minute. Onumonu has scored three goals for Gotham FC with two assists this season. She was part of the Super Falcons squad for the US Summer Series but wasn't release by her Club for the team’s training camp in Austria for the Aisha Buhari Cup. Gotham FC occupied the fourth position on the US NWSL league table with 16 points from nine games. They will welcome Chicago Women in their next encounter on July 25, 2021.
