What is playing out here is simply our culture as regards female football in Nigeria. It is seen as a man's game. Therefore, girls who could have been good footballers are simply scared away from the game.

These ones who persist are those ones who are already tough like guys, therefore even people's opinions doesn't deter them from pursuing football. Also, people tend let them be because they act like guys already.

I have a younger relative who is 8 and plays football very well. Were she to be in Nigeria, she might have been flogged by her parents or teachers
