Please I need help, I have a 4months old gsd mixed puppy and I'm finding it difficult to deal with ticks on her body, I want to really know if the ticks injection my vet is talking about is effective and how often she can take it. I hope they don't have any side effects |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 7:50am On Jul 17, 2021 |
tobamz:Good morning sir, first I'll like to know the drug that was injected, possibly Ivermectin. Although there are non-injectible alternatives which are equally effective. But your environment also matters too. If you are not convinced with the treatment plan and result, you can discuss with your vet (if qualified) or send me a mail. I hope this helps!!! 1 Like |

Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 12:47pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
Jackonsy:Good morning my Chief, and longest time. I'm so sorry about what you are going through and I'll like to assure you that all will be well. I tend to agree with you on hormonal treatment but my chief, these drugs are dangerous and should only be administered under the supervision of a qualified Veterinarian else the repercussion may not really be pleasant, these drugs are not like our normal paracetamol, amoxicillin, multivitamin etc. My humble suggestion is for you to take your dog to a Vet hospital not clinic, discuss your concerns with the veterinarian and what you feel is the way forward and let he/she guide you. Please update us as events unfolds. |

taiwofawole: Thanks Dog , he is doing better now , also my Eskimo just started vomiting yesterday, he is active, playful , still eating but has vomited like 3 times between yesterday to today , what do you think ? |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 4:39pm On Jul 19, 2021 |
kenniefawole:Thank God. As for the Eskimo, I'll advice you take him straight to a Vet clinic for proper examination because a lot of things may be responsible for the vomiting. Also when you get there, proper treatment can be initiated once the problem is detected. Update us on any development. *Meanwhile conditions that can cause vomiting include: Indigestion, Worm infestation, Disease condition like parvo, lepto etc, Gastrointestinal conditions and even reaction to some particular types of food. |

Because we just get the dog and is not yet use to us at all, because is showing sign of aggressive, we do push food to him, please what can make him to have watery toilet sir? |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 10:38am On Jul 20, 2021 |
yemite4040:Good morning sir, I want you to calm down sir. Many things can be responsible, which includes the following; 1) He may be reacting to the food you gave him 2) Sudden change of environment 3) Disease condition like gastroenteritis, what people call "diarrhea" or "jedi" which could be due to contaminated food 4) Worm infestation "aran" 5) Other disease condition like parvo. So I'll advice you change his food to a dry food and get Diastop®. This is just a temporary measure, before you go to the vet clinic for complete evaluation and vaccination. I hope this helps |

Good morning and well done Dr Seun. I am a new dog owner. I just got a GSD. Her name us Milo and she is 6 weeks old but with stunted growth (well, for my expectation). 1. Please what are the recommended eating habit and diet that can make her become an envied big dog? 2. I clean her house daily with detol which I thought should give her the necessary protection against germs but what I am beginning to notice is that her hair are seriously falling. Have I caused damage to her? 3. She surprisingly eat her own poop in my presence last night...all! .. .and I didn't want to beat or shout at her. I think I need help Dr. |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 2:56pm On Jul 20, 2021 |
systimax:Good afternoon sir, first of all, have you vaccinated your dog? that would be the first step, then give her good and nourishing food with multivitamin supplement. Then you should get Fipronil® spray for the hair loss or if its mange complain to your Vet during vaccination, he/she would administer the proper injection and also ensure her surrounding is clean. For eating poop, it could be due to mineral deficiency, hence the multivitamin should solve it, meanwhile teach her that it's a bad habit. Please update me on any progress |

Please help me doc My Lhasa dog has been pregnant for over 3 months now and yet to give birth. Though I’ve been to the hospital and foetus were confirmed during examination but not through ultrasound. I was advised to either opt for cs or induced labor. I would have opted for induced labor I was told it’s dangerous as it might affect either the mother or the puppies bcus her cervix is really tight... it’s not her first pregnancy. And can you confirmed if it’s a pure breed or mixed ..see attached pics ** I cut her hair

Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 4:07pm On Jul 27, 2021 |
McTavish:Good afternoon sir, on the first part, I'll advice CS. The risk of induced labor is quite high considering the present condition. Although CS is costly but the risk is lower compared to the induction. 1 Like |

Good morning doc, there’s this kind of ringworm looking thing in both my dogs ear. Any idea on what could be the cause and how to get rid of it? I treated her for tick infestation using azinthol for tick bath, ddforce for fumigation of her kennel and mectizan to battle the parasite from within. She’s fully free from ticks now but I noticed lately that she itches a lot with that ringworm-like stuff in her ear. I dey suspect yeast infection.

Doc , any prescription for a watery poop ? Dog is active but the poop is watery despite feeding on dry food |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 2:33pm On Jul 28, 2021 |
amehrada:Good morning sir, sorry for the late response sir, from what I'm seeing, I'll advice we treat mange, just to rule it out. For now you can get topical antifungal for the meantime, while we prepare to treat mange. I'm trying to be careful, not to load your pet with drugs. Update me I'll be on standby |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 2:38pm On Jul 28, 2021 |
kenniefawole:Good afternoon sir, first find out the cause of the watery poop and address it. It may be due to infection, allergy to a particular food, worm infestation etc. Meanwhile you can get this syrup Novax® (Diastop) and administer as a palliative pending when you find out the root cause. 1 Like |

Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 5:44pm On Jul 28, 2021 |
amehrada:You can get any ketoconazole based topical anti fungal cream in a Vet or Human pharmacy shop. Or just ask for any good antifungal cream. |

seunH: Good afternoon doc. So I took my dog to the hospital yesterday cus I was extremely worried. She was examined by the doc and I was advised to get abdominal X-ray which I did. So I took the X-ray result back to the hospital this morning. Turns out she’s having what the doc called pseudopregnancy which means she’s not even pregnant at all despite showing pregnancy symptoms.in fact fluid were coming out of her nipples. |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 5:54pm On Jul 29, 2021 |
McTavish:Waoww, I'm so sorry sir, it happens like that occasionally and can be due to many factors like hormonal etc. Please put your mind at rest sir I'm sure she will "catch" during the next mating cycle. Please update me on any development, I'll be on standby. I'm so sorry once more |
