There are just too many direct importers in Onitsha that I dont even know the one to name. Check Brasco at the building materials international market at Ogidi. All these people are loaded with many different classes of tiles, including original Spanish tiles.

Just as Horlardorjah shared, no builder/contractor has the x-ray vision to know a client that’ll default or won’t. It’s a huge risk more especially on the contractor if things go south.

If I see value I will continuously use you , I still benchmark and do price checks regularly to put even old contractors in check . for some people by reason of the scale of operations you can’t be mobilizing contractors daily or even weekly for everything ,it’s Not just possible

Maybe the person didn’t see the value of your taking the effort to organize and supply the items at your own cost or maybe he dint see the value in the price differential if he had sourced it himself

I love the way you handle yours sir. What of if the customer is one off person (buy and go). Like something that happened to me, a customer called me and he ordered for cables and he promised to pay on delivery . He said people have suped him in the past. Well I took the risk and delivered the cable to him. He said the road to the site is very bad and that I should come to a bus stop. He confirmed the quantities and it was ok. He log in to his online banking pretending he wanted to transfered money to me not knowing that he was busy playing game on his phone . After some minutes he said the transaction completed and I will see alert because it's an inter bank transaction.

I left the place hoping that my account would be credited some minutes. I waited several minutes hours, days , weeks, months . He later change his line and couldn't reach him anymore. He's a visitor on nairaland. He told me his name is O.J. Till today OJ's number is not going . Tye total cost of cables is 867,000.

This is one of the reasons I stopped doing payment on delivery on my wood supplies.

This country and its citizens will humble you.

From my understanding of twinskenny explanation . This is not a broker or agency situation. This is twinskenny doing what a lot of us do here. Recommending people we think can do the job and the guy he recommend failed to performance. Twinskenny has sold an item worth 100k upfront for me without even knowing me personally and his money wasn't paid until few days after as we both agreed. Based on my previous interaction and transaction with him, I would agree he has no intent of "commission' on the transaction.

I would agree if na the balance go make the guy complete the job, twinskenny should volunteer the 50k and let the guy complete the job if indeed he is willing to do it. I believe the owner won't mind giving you some 'quids ' when the job is done.

Sir, if you observe me well since we started business, you'd see that I always talk about owing up to responsibility.

I also try not to be found wanting, meaning I take care of what I should take care of without pushing my responsibilities to others.

When I know I won't be able to carry out the responsibility, I delegate and pay the delegate what is worth his or her time.

Not to boast, the materials I asked of you was to do a road leading to my office just 1 year into moving there. I met people on that street with big big cars, they all kept waiting for useless LG to come fix the covet leading into their homes and offices.

They didn't protest, they didn't go there daily to disturb the LG chairman, they only wrote letters (2) in 5 years to the LG.

The LG is just 2 minutes drive from the street and 5 mins walk.

Veyy sick mindset we have in this part of the world.
