When you are talking about Bini empire you are referring to the Oba dynasty which was created by Oranmiyan a Prince from Ile Ife. There was nothing like Idu/Igodomigodo empire or Ogiso empire, so in other words the Yoruba Prince from Ile Ife actually formed the Benin empire and he was the one that also form the Oyo empire. The sit the first Oba of Lagos who of course is 100% Yoruba man was given to him by Aromire because of the bond that they are all from Ile Ife. The Idu/Igodomigodo had no single influence in any Yoruba land even itehkiri land, it is only the Oba of Benin who of course has his ancestry link to Ile Ile Ife. Yoruba Itehkiris migrated from Ile ife almost the same time with Oranmiyan and the Usen people in Edo state. When the Benin Royal house started formulating stories of Ekaladerhan initiated by Erediauwa the Yoruba cut the link and stopped the special preference in Yorubaland. Even the recent appointment of the Olu of Warri shows that the Yorubas have stopped the special preference given to the Benin Royal house.

Leave the Yoruba & focus on this one - Itsekiri. This is what the Britannaca had to say about the Itsekiri:

“The Itsekiri live on the coast in an area of extensive mangrove swamps and freshwater wetlands. ... Myths of origin establish that Ginuwa, the Itsekiri founder and first olu (king), was originally a prince of Benin, so that subsequent kings are descendants of the oba of Benin.”

If you please and wish to discuss, create a separate thread on the relationship between Edos & Yoruba. I’ll meet you there!

This is where your types are getting it wrong. Ikwerre people are saying that Igbo is Ikwerre and not the other way.
Don't mind the size or your population.
We bear Eze as name. As a title it could be a borrowed one as one rulers bear Nye we Ali or Eli depending the part of Ikwerre you are.
See tell your kind the is difference between who speaks Igbo and Igboid language. Someone who speaks Igbo is an Igbo person. Someone who speaks Igboid is not necessary an Igbo person but may have got some relationship with Igbo people. ..
And can you explain further, there are 20+ igboid dialects out there, no one can tell which one is the original igbo dialect, the central igbo is a combination of different igboid dialects, can you mention which igbo clan speaks igbo?

That makes Idah and the entire Igala land part of our future map.
They own Anambra, so they should be attached to their property

Igala and Anambara can never be part of Biafra. They are presently using violence to eject none Igalas from their ancestral LANDS. That's why there are so many communal clashes in Anambra.

Igbos kidnapped and sold their tribesmen. So it’s possible.

But it’s not as if Benin or Itsekiri came to Igboland, conquered and won some slaves

THESE MINORITIES SCREAMING IGBO DOMINATION ARE A BUNCH OF REETARD.

IS IT THE SAME IGBO PEOPLE THAT YOU COMMITTED CRIME AGAINST IN COHORT WITH THE BRITISH?

FUNNY HOW THEY BOAST ABOUT THE CRIMES THEY WERE ABLE TO COMMIT DURING THE TRANSATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE.

YET ANY SMALL THING IGBO DOMINATION.

Even the Itsekiris were under the Bini. Reno is being smart by half for saying the Itsekiri and the Binis. It was actually the Binis.

The Bini empire was the only one in Nigeria the Portuguese and later the British referred to as ‘Great’ in all of their text. Its influence spanned into the south west to present day lagos, ondo & ekiti, beyond the river Niger up to the kalabari and even cross rivers.

Its was for the untainted loyalty of the king in calabar to the Bini throne that he choose to be banished there by the British.

Na why Bini no fi rise again na

Igbos have really suffered in the hands of revisionism. If you claim you have 200 thousand Igbos among you in Itsekiri what then is the population of Itsekiri as an ethnic group. Itsekiri might be 500k to 1million people at most and when you have 200k Igbos in the mix then it becomes a hybrid Igbo ethnic group whether as slaves or Freeborn in your revisionist agenda. For the truth Igbos occupied all of Delta North all the way to Bini more than a thousand years ago as the founders of the territory. Benin expansionism only pushed Igbos to Agbor while others migrated to East for a more peaceful life. It is the appalling claims by some Delta Igbos to be from Bini that gave Reno the audacity to call Igbos slaves.

BINI IS NEW.

THE REAL NAME OF THE PLACE IS IDU AND THEY WERE IGBO PEOPLE.

ALL THE GROUPS THERE TODAY ARE OFSPRING OF IGBO.

EVEN THE OBA OF BINI IS HALF IGBO FROM HIS MOTHER SIDE AND HALF YORUBA FROM HIS FATHER SIDE.

The Africa there is enough homage to their roots, I have never heard an African American deny that their ancestors were brought from Africa, but nnamdi from rivers state will say I'm not igbo, I'm ikwerri we are a distinct ethnic group from igbo we migrated from bini
You've never heard of African Americans who deny their ancestors were from Africa? Lol, are you joking? Where have you been? Haven't you heard about the self-acclaimed "Indigenous Blacks" amongst African Americans who believe they're indigenous to America and will always ask you "where are the slave ships" if truly slaves were brought from Africa to America. To cut a long story short, there are African Americans who believe that the slave trade never happened.

Hahahahahahaha!

So what war brought catholic to the SW & SS. Even the first church in Nigeria was in Abeokuta. Christianity was first brought in by the Portuguese but they didnt set up any church. Go and read extensively. This is not to bring down as tribe or people. It is what it is. The Christianity in Nigeria today came through the Church of England!

golddust6000:
catholism was spread during the Nigerian/Biafra war, it wasn’t by conquest. Most of the missionaries are from Ireland and Poland. None of them are British. We excepted it by faith not by force.

This is exactly what we need. We need to replay the events of Agha idu na Oba when you people took Igodomigodo and turned half to Bini. This time as an entire nation (Igboland), no longer as an individual clan.
Please you all should come to their aid

That part of Igbo history is hidden and unaccounted for. Agha Idu n'Oba was what pushed many Igbos from Benin territory to the East. The story exists in many eastern Igbo communities telling stories of how their ancestors left Benin following a bloody war.

THE FACT THAT IGBO FEATURED MAJORLY IN THE TRANSATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE WAS DOWN TO THE OBA OF BINI AND OBONG OF CALABAR.

THEY REGULARLY CONDUCTED SLAVE RAIDS INTO NEARBY IGBO VILLAGES.

THE OBONG OF CALABAR AND OBA OF BINI ACTED AS MIDDLE MEN FOR THE EUROPEAN SLAVE TRADERS.

I HOPE RENO KNOWS THE ACTION OF ITSEKIRI AND BINI DURING THIS PERIOD WAS SHAMEFUL AND NOTHING TO BE PROUD ABOUT
