Nigeria was under military rule from 1966 to 1999 that is about 33 years, officers of Northern extraction were Military head of states for 29 years. That means Nigeria was under the control of various northern tribes, the longest serving military head of state was General Gowon, who was a northern Christian from Plateau state who was known to preside over the oil boom of that time that made Nigeria rich.

Lets be logical for once, if for 33 years, the military have been in power, that means, the military have been the one who built our road networks, cities, bridges, general hospitals, housing estates, port, airports, universities, polytechnics and every infrastructures we are enjoying today. Infact, they are the ones who divided the country into states so that minority groups will be able to participate in Government.

The Nigerian military literally turned a country filled with bushes and forests into a construction site, no matter how we deny it, history never lies...almost all infrastructures in Nigeria were built by the military and those are the infrastructures some people want to destroy and burn down by all means possible.

If civilians were in power for a longer period too, perhaps they would have done more better. At least civilian rule is better and massive infrastructural developments can be seen on civilian administration in Rivers, Anambra, Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Ebonyi and Ogun states

They wouldn't have done anything but to fight among themselves.

The military had no time for debate in a parliament, they had a council were they take decision and implement as fast as possible.

Which development are you talking about, is it the maintenance of what the military built that you call development.

All what civilians are building can't be compared to what the military did in their days.
