Yes
I changed like three times before I got the closest date. Book what ever available date you’re seeing right now, keep trying early hours in the morning and late at night. If you see any closer date go ahead and change your appointment date. I did mine try times
Thanks for the response..but is there a special way of rebooking...cos I clicked amend and kept refreshing in the midnight but nothing

Hello Good people,

I need help quickly. I am married and have my wife and sons depending on me financially. There is a section on visa application that asks for those depending on you financially-whether they are coming to Uk with you or they are not coming.

I ticked yes that I have family dependent on me financially and I provided my family details.

My concern is this: I hope this will not affect my visa decision as the visa officer might be thinking I am leaving my job for studies and my children might suffer.

I wanted to provide additional information in the last section where there is space to provide additional information that can help in decision making, that my wife has a school which generates income to pay family bill. I also want to disclose my audit firm which I have 2 staff working with me and few clients as an investment to generate income to support my family while I am away. However, I do not have strong supporting documents to attach. My wife school is not registered with CAC and does not run separate bank account. My audit firm is duly registered with Corporate Affairs commission and I have chartered Accountant's certificate but most incomes from firm are paid to my personal account.

Should I goo ahead to disclose the school and my audit firm considering the weak supporting documents?

Please experieced persons who are leaving job and family behind who have gone ahead of me in the process should advise.

Thank you.

Visa Alert! Visa Alert!! Visa Alert!!!

Submission date -30th June

Biometrics - 6th July

Collection Mail - 22nd July (Standard)

Visa approved to the glory of God.

Thank you for all you assistance and for answering all my questions. God bless you all.

Please gurus in the house, I need more clarifications.

- I am looking to convert my POF to pounds and send ahead of me to my immediate sibling already in the UK, want to know if this is possible incase I'm being asked for evidence at point of entry.

- What is the time frame for the covid test before I travel....how many days before travel date?

- Also I intend to live in a private accommodation, how do I prepare in case I'm being asked where I intend to live in the UK as the accommodation may not be ready at that time and may be in an hotel while going on for house checking.

- Finally, is it advisable to book return ticket or one way.

Please help me o.....thank you so much in anticipation for all your responses.

Has Ethiopia moved on to the amber list?

I booked for my brother last month from BA website. I did not receive that message. Did you use a third party card?

Probably those that booked recently can share their experience.

I have flown on many African airlines. Can't even remember all.

I will say Ethiopian and Kenya are probably your best bet but for the long ETA. They have the best aircraft, pilots, free wifi at terminals as well as where you can lay your body in case of a long layover.

Air Maroc is usually cheap (the prices are going up cos there are fewer unrestricted routes into the UK at the moment). Old aircraft, Horrible Airport Terminal (Nowhere to lay your head), smelly toilets like Muritala Muhammed IA, no wonder it's named King Mohammed Airport too. Shorter ETA for a transit route. Good for Luggage (up to 3 bags). Used to be the route to turn to when you are broke smiley

Egypt Air is okay as well.

You can't fly Rwanda, SAA, Taag Angola out of Lagos to London.

My advice will be for you to fly BA. Amber countries might change to red countries before you fly.

Check BA from Abuja to Manchester or even Newcastle International, it is way cheaper than Abuja to London and Lagos to London

Dumebi213:

I have checked their website for a fare rate, tbh it's just as expensive the difference in ETA is not worth the price

Also, any country can move from amber to red and red to amber without warning so best be safe and fly direct.

Hi.

If you are under 30, BA is offering student fares (200k or less) through wakanow. Subject to availability.

(Disclaimer. Not an advert- I got an email from wakanow yesterday because I am on their mailing list)

Hi,

Please note I am not an authority on this but what I would do in your case (since you are not going with family), is to get an authentic POA (Power of attorney). It basically shows that your nominated a proxy to run the business while you are away.

Scan the POA on the same string with your certificate of incorporation/business registration with a one liner stating intention under additional info.

This may be extra, but go for it if it gives you comfort.

Male folk that have successful will further assist.

If the PND is going to reflected in the bank statement (POF) after print out .....then you are setting yourself up for issues....my opinion though..
Chysunshine1:
Remove the PND before printing or while counting. Cos my uncle wants the money in my account to be on And, hope no issue.

Your family dependent on you will NOT have any effect on your application, likewise leaving your job for study has no bearing on this UK Point based student visa application.

You are only required to show proof of fund for your school fees, your upkeep and also for anyone depending on you/traveling with you to the UK.

Assuming you are traveling for visit, you need all those additional information to support your application and also as home-tie.

Hence, you are not required to provide additional information related to your other businesses.

CAS - 50 Point
Proof of English - 10 Point
POF is 10 point

Hope this helps.

All the best.

Number 4 on Point.

The bitter truth that some friends do not want to agree with.

Someone came to me to borrow money for deposit, my first question is, how do you intend to sort the maintenance evidence, she said an agent has promised to arrange that.
Imagine!

fificole:
This thread is incredible, contributors nothing short of amazing!

Note I read from page 1 of this thread (Part 5). Recent and helpful. Interestingly, I had already made our visa application in June before discovering this thread but not without several research on how to proceed.

Nothing rivals this though. It is one-stop-shop.

Back to my application. So, I am reading through the 200+ page on July 2 only to realize I did not fully grasp the 28day requirement. I mistook application date for biometrics submission date. PANIC!! My 28th day was 4 days short.

Luckily, biometrics was scheduled for the 9th of July, so I had a leeway for a refund from TLS (5 working days before appointment). Had TB test done on the 7th.

Cancelled application and appointment. Made a new application selecting July 13th as new date for biometrics.

Family of 5 visa issued.

MY TWO CENTS:
1. Read, research. It will help with your future study too. This thread would probably be 200 pages if we are calm and read through. Yes, it can be nerve wrecking, but believe in your ability to do it.
2. You do not need an agent, especially paid ones. A good number get you into trouble. A colleague used one that did not declare past visa refusals and visit to Kuwait. She was found out and denied (A visitor visa)
3. Do not rush your application. Check and re-check. Well, this may be easier said because I still forgot to declare my US visitor refusal for the year 2000. Guessing they let it slide because I had declared in previous applications, it was more than 10 years and I had a number of US renewals after that.
4. UK is expensive with everchanging rules. If you do not have the funds to cover your 1-year tuition at least, please defer. Relaying solely on ‘hustle’ for both tuition and maintenance may not work as envisaged. Friends will shock you. You fail on payments; the school will report you because they value their license more. This was a 2-year journey for me.
5. Our circumstances differ. As much as there is a general point-based rule, you may need to provide additional (useful) support for your application. That is why the section for additional information was not taken out and the upload site has a category termed ‘others’.
- I am 43. Last degree 21 years ago (B.Sc. Psychology). 21 years in banking (E-business). Applied for a 2-year program unrelated to
Banking or Business with 16 and 15-year-old sons (dependents) in tow.
- Australian cultural visa refusal in 2019
- I explained my gap years. Explained plans for my 2 children’s university education. I also got letters from the organizations I had
worked with to explain my program choice. No, I was not called for credibility interview.
- Please do not mention or upload what is not useful. Stay within your CAS requirements, POF and SELT (if required)

6. Proof of funds statement
a. A lien shows a variance between total funds and available funds. Do not print
b. PND shows no variance. However, the Home office can provide your consent forms to request if there is any form of restriction on the account. Some banks oblige that information. Have it in mind that see adverts on POF.
c. I used an account where I did not transact at all and it did not count against me. A joint account with my spouse we have run since 2008.
Just thought to share and hope it helps someone else here in a similar bucket.

I kept seeing references to JUSTWISE and had to do a search.
- Immigration topics in service to others as far back as 2007 or so
- Various topics and countries. Wow! Just wow!

What got me rolling was the snippy signature:
Signature: Don't underestimate the power of stupid people in a large group

Thanks a lot, justwise, thank you to everyone that painstakingly help address questions/issues even after receiving their visas

Thanks for reading.
