ultimatebas: As you know 2015-2017 was the easiest years to get U.S visa till we spoilt it by abusing the terms of visa. I doubt someone will get U.S visa now without good travel history and very good verifiable work. At this point, God has nothing to do with it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Dear Applicant, Your regular B appointment at the US Embassy Abuja has been cancelled. The Embassy and Consulate General continue to prioritize travelers with urgent travel needs, although regular visa appointments are made available as the local conditions allow. In response to ongoing pandemic-related service disruptions, the Department of State announced the extension of Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee validity until September 30, 2022 for individuals who paid an MRV fee, but were unable to schedule and/or attend an interview during the suspension of services. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at https://ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-expeditedappointment.asp to request an emergency appointment. Please visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/ea/covid-19-information.html for information about the current status of visa services worldwide and visa restrictions related to the COVID-19 global pandemic: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/ea/covid-19-information.html. Please note this appointment was cancelled by the US Embassy and cannot be reversed by call center agents. Students and Emergency applicants are not affected by this cancellation. Sincerely, |

Hi everyone. Can someone tell me how long it takes for immigrant visa. My application was just submitted today. Do I have to wait for years? I am married with 2kids. My Dad just filed for US. Is there a way to fast track it? |

If you are talking about the F4 category immigrant petition visa, you may have to wait for 14years. It is often a long wait. Kolizomanizo: |

Good evening House, I am a recent Masters graduate from the US and just got a job on OPT with a firm that sponsors for H1B. The position is a remote position and I am thinking of the best city to settle in terms of low crime rate, low cost, and an average social life for me and my family. I schooled in a city that has no activity in terms of socials (core university city on one part) and a relative high crime rate (in the top 50 nationwide) in the other part of town not where the university is. For introduction, my job is in the North East however, if possible, I want to avoid the winter cold and besides, most of the cities I have searched has houses that I do not like with very few apartment/condo style housing options which do not have vacant apartments till a few months time. In addition, what is the chances of saving at least 40% of my earnings (if my net is relatively okay) considering that I have spent all my savings on my education and also, has student loan to start paying off at the beginning of next month? For those who live in the US, please advice me on how best to achieve good savings. Lastly, I got the Child Care Benefit that started this month and asking the tax company that filed my taxes if it was okay, I was told yes since my child was born in the US. For those who converted from OPT to H1B to GC, hope this wouldn't create an issue in the future. |

thejourney200: Omo, this may not be the right thread, because people here travel and return to Nigeria (majority) and do not have this detailed conditions of the US system and cri.me rate and condo stlye... We don't know what you earn, nor your cost of living, so 40% doesn't mean anything. We don't have child benefit so we are clueless on how uncle Sam will feel (I can talk about BoI and CBN or TradeMoni or MarketMoni and CorperMoni failure sha) Find the appropriate thread for those living in the US. And those living in the US here can direct him 5 Likes |

Kolizomanizo: It takes years to become current especially for F4, as for your question. Yes you can track it but won't see any progress for now. Check here https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do. You dad will receive a case number or sometime. With that you can track. Usually starts with "WAC" or some other prefix, depending on the processing centre. If you are lucky and they push your file to Potomac, Vermont that have shorter processing times then you'd be surprised but if it goes to California, my friend you will wait for 11-14yrs. |

I had my masters in the US one of the uni's in the north east as well, after my program I moved to the south- Dallas Texas. The cost of living was lower and got baby sitters for my kids for cheap which was not the case in the north east. But the down side is that it gets really hot in 100 degrees in the summer. Since you work remotely you can consider moving to the south or depending on where you live in the north you can consider nearby state but far from new York and Boston cos those are very expensive. I hope this was helpful. thejourney200: |

Hi, please I will like to gain information on how to apply for a US visit visa from the UK. I recently just moved to the UK in February as a dependent with my wife who’s studying here for her masters. We will like to visit the US to visit family and friends but not sure how to begin the process as it seems quite different from how we do it in Nigeria. Will appreciate feedback from anyone on here. Thank you |

Stella91: Thanks a lot, was considering going south to Georgia, Alabama, or Texas however, I have settled for Texas because I would want a place like home which Houston offers. I was given some good leads by friends who are based in Houston in terms of apartment and I am already in discuss with a few. I have a few questions: How did you get your furniture and what furniture store did you buy from? Do you think it is idea to buy all that is needed at once and do installment payments or put it on my credit card (this I don't think is ideal considering that my credit base isn't high which would imply very high utilization)? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Stella91: 11:21am On Jul 27, 2021 |
I didn't buy furnitures from the stores because they are very expensive. I used facebook market place and saw some good furnitures from people who are willing to sell theirs, they are quite affordable and sometimes they will deliver as well. The only new furniture I will recommend buying is your mattress but it all depend on your budget. If you have the money then you can get the ones from the store. I never bought anything in the US using credit because the last time I checked as a student you are not suppose to do that on f2 visa, I didn't want to violate my visa since I knew I will be returning back to Naija. what state are you moving from in the Northeast? thejourney200: |
