Ruben Neves will be a lasting solution to our holding midfield problem in terms of Defence, ball distribution and creativity going forward, but many people don't see it and it's very strange.

And you even know what's funny? We don't have any midfielder currently that can play anything close to the Role Neves plays.

Who are even the holding midfielders we have. I mean proper holding midfielders. Please don't call Pogba because he always struggles to excel in that role as he can't defend well and is careless sometimes. Okay, so who else?

That Neves guy will definitely give us stability in that midfield.

Aren't these things what we've always wanted?

We have missed a Carrick-esque player in that midfield for so long and what's more hurting is seeing Fred and Mctom filling one role.

The challenge with spotting good defensive players in the premier league is most of them play a defensive style of football, so it’s really tough picking out one who won’t crumble in an attacking setup.

Support for Neves is similar to that of Morgan Schneiderlin. Morgan even played for a less-defensive team back then, but it ended in tears. Maybe he too was unfortunate to be a Glazer victim, can’t say.

Except United wants to stick to trial and error in the hope that one clicks. Neves isn’t convincing.

This United team has a way of exposing a player’s flaws in an unforgiving way, especially if they don’t fit in.

Others are saying the Wolves system masks his flaws but they have refused to imagine him in a setup where his team dominates in most games and with better team mates...

Neves is better than either of Mcfred. If it was up to me to make the choice, I'd go with Bissouma but if Ole is hell bent on playing with two CDMs, then Bissouma and Neves will be a big step up from McFred...

It's the insecure 12 small teams that voted against 5 subs. All the big teams wanted it. Those small teams were claiming that the big teams will have an advantage because of their squad depths. At they end of the day, it affected them more during the season.

I think it's needed now due to the stress footballers go through these days. There are too many games and too many competitions. The advantage small teams gain from playing fewer matches the big teams will make up using squad depth.

3 subs are more than ok for a 90 minute game. 5 subs would aid big teams like Man City who can afford to bring £55m signings from the bench to change the the tide of a game.

Then again, the managers of the big clubs crying about 5 subs are just capping. That Norwegian fraud didn’t even use any substitute in the Europa final in normal time. So why does he need 5?

Many of the managers in the top 6 didn’t make use of the maximum allowed 3 substitutes in some of the biggest games last season. One can hardly argue for 5 subs when they struggle to even make use of the 3 available.

I am more interested in the welfare of the players. Again even the advantage of bringing in a 55m sub can still be utilised in the next game which will even be more affective. It makes no difference, since like you pointed out, they hardly use it.
