[BREAKING] Igboho: Olubadan Wades In, Sends Delegation To Cotonou by NyamiriSlayer(m): 8:25pm On Jul 25, 2021 |
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1, has sent a delegation to Cotonou, Benin Republic over the court case involving Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho. A statement by the first-class monarch’s Director of Media and Publicity, Adeola Oloko, did not disclose the identity of members of the delegation. He, however, said the delegation was sent to observe the proceedings of the court case involving Sunday Igboho. The statement quoted Oba Adetunji as saying this at his Popoyemoja, Ibadan palace on Sunday while exchanging views with some leaders of thought comprising the leadership of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes led by President General, Prince Yemisi Adeaga, first vice President General, Dr Tirimisiyu Oladimeji; Ekefa Olubadan, Senior Chief Lekan Alabi; Ajia Olubadan, Chief Wasiu Aderoju Alaadorin; Mogaji Makusota, Prof. Oluwasegun Adekunle and Personal Assistant to Olubadan, Mr Adeola Oloko. Olubadan said this would allay the fears of several people, including protesters who besieged his palace that he was folding his arms over the travails of Sunday Igboho and his co-travellers. “Sunday Igboho lives in Ibadan, got married in Ibadan, reared children in Ibadan, built houses in Ibadan and as such he has the rights to be protected by Ibadan Traditional Institution within the ambit of the law just like any human being in Ibadan,” the statement added. The first-class monarch also stated that he was in constant touch with Yoruba prominent royal fathers, including Igboho royal crowns. He also noted that he would not allow the “repeat performance of Yoruba-Fulani coalition of 1814”. “Students of Nigeria history may wish to be reminded that when some people during the period under reference chose to engage in territorial expansion to the sea, it took the Ibadan army under Balogun Oderinlo to repel the attack and stop the incursion near Osogbo,” he said. The Beninese court adjourned Igboho’s case till Monday (tomorrow) after his five lawyers failed to convince the prosecutor that he had no case to answer. The Beninese authorities have, however, released Ropo, the agitator’s wife, who was arrested with the 48-year-old activist on Monday, July 19, 2021, by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin on their way to Germany. On his part, Igboho was returned to police custody. The lawyers had said that during the hearing, prosecutors claimed Igboho was on a watchlist for alleged trafficking in arms, inciting violence that could result in social disturbance and causing disunity in Nigeria. https://punchng.com/breaking-igboho-olubadan-sends-delegation-to-cotonou/ mynd44 |

Way to go. This is the time for Yorubas to rally and send a strong message to this non-tolerant-government of the day that they will not allow Igboho to be sacrificed. 3 Likes |

Thank you olubadan. Ibadan rescued yoruba from fulanis during osogbo war of 1840. Igboho is being targeted because he dared to challenge fulani. Yorubas understand the message clearly. Fulani aggression united yorubas in 1840. Now fulani aggression is uniting yorubas again. 1 Like |

anigbajumo:What an excuse very lame, so because of so called Fulani Herdsmen that you have never seen, nor any of your family witnessed they should separate Nigeria, because your parents told you Nigeria belongs to President Buhari & Fulani People? People like you will suffer in Nigeria, you think anyone owes you anything? 1 Like 1 Share |

Did anyone tell him or you that Lagos state has problems with Fulani or herdsmen? The more I hear his followers, the more justified I am that he igboho will suffer seriously for his stupidity. 1 Like 2 Shares |

"Those Who Do Not Learn History Are Doomed To Repeat It." - George Santayana I rarely comment on Nairaland anymore due to the death of the age of reasoning i see here everyday and, it seems the owner of this forum and his lieutenants you call moderators, are hell bent on selling out the South to the North.. I've noticed the pattern of reasoning of Seun Osewa and, I've formed an opinion of him as not been a witty creature capable of reaching a logical conclusion concerning matters such as secession, agitations, politics, power, ideology, identity, history, propaganda and strategic operations. He should stick to what he does best ; software and web development. It's a good thing, a great thing to note, that some Yorùbá monarchs are still vast in history, especially that of the wars between the Yorùbás and the marauding Fulanis and , the various underlying agendas. When traitors such as Afonja and his cohorts decided to renegade against the power and control of the thrones of the Ọ̀yọ́ Empire, he stupidly and naively formed an unholy alliance with Alimi, the Fulani, to not only break away from his the empire but, to also lay siege to it and claim it.. All the while, he scored victory upon victory against the cavalry army of Ọ̀yọ́ and, eventually sacked and looted the seat of the Ọ̀yọ́ power with the assistance of Alimi and, he thought he was invincible..This, led to two historical incidents ; the fall of the Ọ̀yọ́ Empire and the Great Curse on the Yorùbá race by the then Aláàfin Aole. Little did Afonja know that he was setting himself and his ethnic nation up, for a great turmoil.. I'm sure Afonja never thought a day would come, when a beneficiary and ally of his, would turn the swords and arrows against him and then take over his household and lordship then again, dead men don't talk.. That was the end of the "Onilorin" and thus began, the reign of the "Emirs" of Ilorin.. A great city forever lost to greed and futile pursuit of power. The Fulanis grew more courage, and were resolute on dipping the Koran into the ocean, which was an aphorism for a westward expansion and subjugation of the Yorùbás. Perhaps, either the Sokoto Caliphate or their own ego pushed them too far, and just like the Greek classical legend of Icarus, they flew too close to the sun and, we all know how it ended for Icarus and the Fulanis.. The infantry wing of the Ọ̀yọ́ Empire domiciled in Ibàdàn and under the control of Balogun Oderinlo, ensured that the annihilation of the Fulani army in Osogbo, not only put an end to any dream or lucid thoughts of invasion, but also was a form of didactic lesson to the Fulanis and the Caliphate that, whatsoever you get by deceit and betrayal at dawn, would wither away at dust.. Today, another Afonja has risen amongst the Yorùbás and unfortunately, the Fulanis, who have failed to learn, still nurture the nomadic dream of revenge and conquest, have found a willing tool in Tinubu, this new Afonja, to carry out their agenda.. This time, they seek to dip the Koran into the Ocean but, in another form and, guess what!!! It's in form of the much exalted DANGOTE REFINERY.. Hope you all see the way they pour and empty the Nigerian resources on that thing.. There's always an agenda and, it becomes very visible when you have a willing tool (Tinubu) to help you out in your journey.. Ask yourself why DANGOTE isn't citing his refinery in the Northern part of of the country to help booster their economy and lest we forget, they're are also searching for oil in the Chad Basin which makes a refinery of dangote's magnitude to be a dream come through ?? Oh, i guess terrorism.. Naa, that's a bullshit excuse .. Then again, why not build it in the Niger Delta?? Let me since they also have access to the rivers and Atlantic Ocean and again, it'd be way more easier to just move crude oil from the oil fields down to his refinery without much cost on running pipelines, ferry them to other countries through the Atlantic Ocean, why still bringing huge foreign exchange and investment to the region, as a token to their contribution in terms of resources to the country?? Ooh, wait, i guess militants are his problem ? No, i don't think so. Why Lagos then, Ògún State and Òndó state posses landmass almost 12 times the size of Lagos, with little or no form of thuggery and Ọmọ Onílẹ̀s and, to top it all up, they have access to the Ocean.. Oh, let me guess, is there a problem within those state? The answer is a capital NO!!! For you to carry out your crimes and agenda, you must have s willing tool and betrayer, who's ready to sell out his own people for an illusive grandeur of power and fortune, this time, in form of the exalted position of the PRESIDENT. The Caliphate sorts and picks their victims carefully and , through a well documented history of greed and avarice, Tinubu was selected as the perfect machine for this movement. The current Aláàfin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, having been a good student of the political history and treachery of the Yorùbás and Nigeria, knows what upheavals await the Yorùbás just across the horizon which, prompted an action from him; In a bizarre twist, he decided to appoint a new Ààrẹ Ọna Kankanfo, not as a ceremonial title to a business or political magnate such as the case of Akintola and Abiola but, in this case, to an actual warlord and rebel with a Militia Force under him already and, you ask yourself WHY why the choice of Gani Adams, instead of the likes of Mike Adenuga, Oba Otudeko, Olusegun Obasanjo and, Tinubu, who were all clear favorites to the title? This very action prompted a lot of reasonings, which ultimately led to one conclusion ; WAR, and it is already on our doorsteps.. Time is a river, and yet again, we have another situation, another empire, another Afonja, another Alimi and, another Oderinlo.. Tell the emperor in Lagos ; "Those Who Do Not Learn History Are Doomed To Repeat It." - George Santayana Post No Bill |
