1. Find a better reason why you chose social work or at least, rephrase what you wrote up there.

2. In why you choose the school. Since you’re going for undergraduate, I don’t think you have any business with research not to talk of thesis, that is mostly for advanced degrees.

3. 2014 till now is 7 years, what are the other things you were doing?

4. your reason for returning to Nigeria has to be stronger.

Your responses to why US is kinda vague. Universities in the UK and Canada have same. Try to tie your why US to the course you are going to study and how it is best to study that course in the US and relate it to how it will benefit Nigeria.

Sorry guys, I don’t quite know how to navigate this platform but here is my transcript.

Interview Date: 22nd Oct 2021
Expedited Date: 06th July
Location: Abuja
VO: May i have your passports and I20
ME: Handed over I20’s and 4 passports
Note: I applied with my husband and kids (F2) . First is 4yrs old and the other is 2.
VO: Where do you work?
ME: Greeted and continued to answer her that i work with a non govt organization and have been with them for 4months
VO: Why is your husband going with you?
ME: To support me with the travels, settling down and join in the decision making for my kids school but he will return to his work after we are settled.
VO: What are your post study plans?
ME: The organization i work with have an understanding with me and have given me 2yrs study non pay leave. So i plan to return to them with the skills i have acquired through this course to address these issues that are affecting women in Nigeria.
VO: You will return to a place you have worked for just 4months?
ME: Yes because they’re particular about women and it aligns with the course i will be studying
VO: List everywhere you have worked and the years which you started each.
ME: Saw her looking at the computer and noding in agreement as i talked (guess she was going through my DS160)
All the times i tried giving her a supporting document she refused to collect, she said look me in the eye and answer my questions. I don’t need to see anything.
After typing for about 2mins she said i love that you were bold enough to apply with your kids and husband and i will be approving your visa etc……
My honest advice is fill that DS160 yourself, and remember all you have put there.
I have no travel history, neither does my husband.

Sheer Grace. Congrats.

You see this thing you dey do, it may seems fun to you. But let me tell you: you'll be punished. You'll be punished for it! This is not a threat, but I promise you.

@Fairheart, you are a very good person and I have benefitted from you immensely. The only problem you have is that you are too aggressive, quick to curse and rush to swear a lot. If you can take this aggressiveness, cursing and swearing away, you will sumount all challenges, become an icon and your mentorship to mentees will grow immensely and God will bless you.

My brother, judging from your transcript, the 2014 to date helping mum is a big issue. It sounds like your family couldn’t get you into local university or poly? You need to provide a very very VERY good explanation for this part.

I really think that something funny is going on with the appointment system. It's quite unfortunate that this is involving the USA.

Boy! What a lucky lady you are! You beat the odds.. you had it all against you: working at NGO, 4 months employment, traveling with the whole house, no travel history and no ties.

I think this was sheer luck, and the visa officer said it was because you were truthful and bold (applying for the whole family)
