Our President does not have need for learning and library so why should we? If he had, he wouldn't have been repeating that crude oil prices were $100 per barrel for 16 years |

Nothing to inspire youths in the almost-empty and old-fashioned National Libraries, many books acquired before colonial era are still on the shelves, and e-Library is not in place. The chairs and desks are dusty and rickety and other facilities are in poor state. |

THMT:It's obvious our stone-age leaders want to keep our thoughts imprisoned. Isn't it funny that the same man that procured and distributed tablets with already installed educational content to SS students when he was governor of Osun state is the one now talking about 'going to the library'? 1 Like |

Yet, in the advanced countries around the globe, you find students, researchers swam to libraries. The last time I checked, people still checked into Library of Congress, Washington DC. MadamVanessa: |

PS712: Well I guess he was not the one with the idea, he just shared the Tablets to look cool, like he was really doing a fantastic job. A whole governor sharing Tabs and other menial stuffs like it's a big deal when bigger projects in other countries are done with out cameras, I meant African countries especially North African countries. Now most of his age group/generation with their kind of warped up stone age mindset still want to keep ruling while we are losing our vibrant ones. It's obvious my kids would never want to live in Nigeria and that's how we keep losing Nigerian talents for free all over the world. 1 Like |

You want people to read when they are depressed with all the happenings in Nigeria. When the future is looking dark. No good news on our television stations and radio stations respectively. I give kudos to those youths that still struggles to study books despite all the negative odds. |

madaembee: Stop wallowing in self-pity. Life is not about using everything to play victim and feel sorry for yourself. Keep an open mind and always try to see the big pictures and learn from the message being passed on rather than make everything about your own situation. Many elite you now curse for elevating their children came from very poor and humble background yet used education and a burning quest for self-improvement to better themselves and improve their own fortune and that of future generation. Stop viewing yourself as doomed or damned. A defeatist attitude to life has already condemned you and your offsprings to failure. Aregbe is right. Youths who work hard to make themselves stand out will be the winners in today's Nigeria where, unfortunately, unfeasible population growth means we now host a human population that far outstrip the opportunities available to thrive and have a great life. If you want that great life then start by gaining a winning attitude and the positivity to begin thinking outside the box however difficult things appear. Writing yourself off or feeling sorry for yourself is not an option because nobody owes you anything in life bro. |

kunle75: Lol. You can keep living in denial if you want. Aregbe worked hard from humble beginnings to win despite the reality of his own difficult days as a Nigeria youth . He is a winner today even if you only wish to insult him while the reality remains that you may never get as far as he has in life. The truth is that most Nigerian youths are lazy, distracted and focused on the wrong interests/pursuits. Outstanding young Nigerians continue to do well. That is a fact many of you don't want to accept because your general knowledge and analytical intellect is very poor. You guys are just not broadly robust enough intellectually to accept the reality of your own country and personal situation. If not, you would accept there is very limited opportunities to make many, many, many millions of very rigid and unreasonable young folks, who refuse to think outside the box , professionally fulfilled and gainfully employed. Agriculture is a local and international gold mine yet how many Nigerian youth will ever accept is as a viable first option instead of something they must literally be forced into at gunpoint? You all want to wear suits up and down, drive company cars and work in banks or for top companies. How many of such opportunities do you ignorant young people assume exists in Nigeria? Yes the goverment is fcking up and falling short but you all should look at yourselves too and how much of a lazy generation, always wanting to be spoonfed, you really are. You guys are not creative or innovative. Few of you think outside the box. Yet you all have an entitlement mentality. Una go suffer die bro. Real talk. |
Re: Aregbesola Decries Declining Interest Of Younger Generation In Library, Learning by Nobody: 9:21am On Jul 26, 2021 |
Prince001: Rubbish. You have already lost buying into that intellectually lazy, factually fraudulent and redundant crap that it is only involvement in politics that guarantees success in Nigeria. The Nigeria you all want to run away from remain the hotbed of opportunity the Chinese, Indians, Lebanese etal troop into daily to make their fortunes in agriculture, retailing, manufacturing, service provision, IT, media, engineering, finance etal. Those guys have a different mentality to you so they come to Nigeria to take advantages of opportunities you and most Nigerians, living in Nigeria, do not even know exist because you are too mentally lazy and limited to ever attempt thinking outside the box. Nigeria could be a great Country if we had more innovative and creative minds who can focus on delivering niche solutions to our problems instead of literally millions who only know how to follow others unthinkingly and unquestioningly. This is the singular consideration , from the average man on the streets all the way to the educated olodos in the Presidency, ruining Nigeria today. |

Do u know that at Airport all those people will be passing us while we the citizen will be standing on d queue for passport check and so on. Don't let me start with harassment Nigerians have to go thru by customs and immigration but they let foreigners goes freely. The same Nigerian won't empower their youth but they rather help foreigner to achieve their goals thru banking!!!!! The rest go figure!!!!!!! |

MrBrownJay1:I differ on your submission The advancement in technology has not in any way diminish the role of the library. is unfortunate government attitude to establishment and maintenance of libraries across the nation is poor. Go to developed countries in the world you will know library is not outdated. Library remains the intellectual memory of any society |
