thebosstrevor1:The reason why twitter is not on the list is that Nigerians now visit the website using different locations. So therefore the traffic will be credited to those locations and not Nigeria. |

babyfaceafrica: Any government that has issue with Twitter practices dictatorship. I repeat Twitter revenue is going up. It is Nigerians that use twitter for business that are suffering, not Twitter. Even FG sets committee of agbayas to negotiate with Twitter when the company is not even ready for any discussion. 1 Like |

thebosstrevor1:Akpai, so you really expect a website banned in Nigeria to be in the list of most visited sites in Nigeria? Bro, Nigerians now use Twitter as foreigners. That's what VPN is about. |

babyfaceafrica:Facebook is more of a social media for friends and family Twitter is a global platform for dialogue on issues affecting people It is more cosmopolitan than Facebook that mark designed for an enclosed group Essentially Twitter is a democracy tool to get voices across, this is why politicians use it more eg Trump Exactly why they couldn't come to Nigeria because this government isn't pro freedom of speech and can gag them which renders their service useless |
Re: How Many People Realised Twitter Has Left Nigeria Behind And Moved On? by babyfaceafrica: 7:49am On Jul 27, 2021 |
Mikecold:You really believe this? Lolz... That said twitter isn't that important to Nigeria like Facebook and YouTube, it's more of a gossip app. Also, you said this government isn't pro freedom? Which is true, however from Obasanjo to GEJ, we haven't always operate democracy. Buhari just doesn't care and hasn't manage it well, other governments do. When twitter and Fg are ready, they should settle, if they like they shouldn't, We will survive! |

babyfaceafrica:Oga you are confused o You believe some part you don't believe some part Twitter is a more cosmopolitan app than Facebook this is a fact not up for debate Mark zugerberg created Facebook for his classmates like a WhatsApp group in mind which is enclosed The only difference is it's now in the reach of more than his classmates now Twitter was created for a global audience That been said, politics and policies have been the number one debate driving discussion on the site just like it is for nairaland The fact that Twitter doesn't take sides but allows all opinions elevated it to a tool for freedom of speech online I am glad you agree buhari is terrible with people who have different opinions from him On that basics it was never a good deal for Twitter to bring it's headquarters here because it's brand values is different from Facebook Coming to Nigeria means the NBC would start to give it rules on how to become NTA |
Re: How Many People Realised Twitter Has Left Nigeria Behind And Moved On? by babyfaceafrica: 8:22am On Jul 27, 2021 |
Mikecold: The first bold is totally unnecessary The second bold isn't true. Twitter takes sides... Traffic, money and anything to have people coming back. The government doesn't want their headquarters in Nigeria. They were just ask to open office. Just one shop is enough. There are multi-billion FinTechs in with just one office in Nigeria Look either we like it or not, with the over 200m population businesses can never ignore Nigeria. Nigeria has leadership issues and I am sure by 2023, things would change |

babyfaceafrica:China has alot of issues with western companies not just Twitter. Besides, China is China. What exactly is Nigeria? Why compare the two? Both China and India are ahead of Nigeria. |

babyfaceafrica:Dude wake up. Businesses ignore naija everyday especially since buhari became president. Businesses have also left Nigeria since buhari came to power. You can have 200 million citizens but when 90% them can't afford to buy anything then Businesses will run away. How many Nigerians buy brand new cars? Forget it bro, naija no follow abeg. |

joyandfaith:Twitter has been banned in Nigeria. That's all that matters. Nigeria has been in existence before Twitter so no big deal. Gosh, Nigerians talk too much on what they know nothing about. |

ba7man:Twitter revenue is going up and nigerians are hurt by the ban just like border closure. Why are you still talking? Are u not a nigerian? |
