FlyingColors:
Please guys,

Kindly advise.

I have an admission for a 3-year diploma in software engineering at a College.
My bachelors was in an unrelated course, but I do have 5 years of experience as a software engineer.

Has there been any visa success with people going to a college?

Also I only have personal funds for one year of the program (about 18k cad).

I would greatly appreciate any advise I can get from anyone.
You will have to write a compelling Statement of Purpose as to why you choose the program and also, its job prospects back home. Although, I will suggest you go for PGD/C to show career progression in your field of study. Nevertheless, if it is really what you want, I will say go for it nothing is impossible.

Yes.

You need a year tuition and living expenses, this includes:
Tuition fees between 16k-20k according to your college.
Accommodation and feeding =10k
Other expenses =5k
Total =excess of 35k
I will suggest you get a cosponsor.

Hello House,
I really love this love of showing people the way out of this country in a seamless manner.
My question is that I am planning to study in University of Manitoba. My CGPA is 4.41. while my last for semester cgpas are 4.41,4.39, 4.43 and 4.31. Do I meet the international entrance scholarship point? I have been gathering my necessary documents for this admission. Any advice. My dream is just to study and work in a research field abroad.

Why does my sisters application show she doesn't need a medical exam or will it he changed later?

limitless:

If you are fully vaccinated, book Lufthansa/AirCanada. (Lagos to Frankfurt to Montreal to Toronto).

To reduce the cost further, book through an international flight booking platform, it was about 923 USD a week ago, but you have to pay with USD credit card.

Avoid flights that pass through USA if you don't have US visas.

I was also advised to avoid flights with 2 layovers within Europe (There is one with layover in Frankfurt and Zurich). I don't know why, so you should make further inquiries.

I was sceptical about the Montreal to Frankfurt route too until I made inquiries and was told there shouldn't be a problem if fully vaccinated and exempted to quarantine at Montreal.

Thank you for this information

Don't limit yourself to U of Manitoba. You have good GPA, but don't rely on that alone. It is imperative that you proof your research knowledge, research potential and research skills.

Search for the U15 universities, they are the 15 most research intensive institutions in Canada and they get about 80% of the awarded research grants in Canada.

Cold mail Professors in your research area in those schools.

Extend your search to other institutions outside the U15 too. All the best.

Wow. Congratulations dear. May Canada Favour you.

Dear Nairaland family,

It has finally dropped ooooo! Glory be to God Almighty!!!!

Sister's application
AOR: Feb 11 2021
Program: Practical nursing May 2021 (Sheridan college)- clearly can't go for May 2021 anymore due to delay, will go for Jan 2022 session!
Upfront medical : April 28, 2021 ( we said let's do medical to see if it will speed things up, lol jokes)
Medical passed: June 14, 2021 (just see how long it took them to update medical!)
Eligibility started: July 23, 2021
PPR and correspondence letter: this morning July 27th @ 4:34am!

What a wait! Basically this application took 5 months and 16 days. I remember I considered withdrawing the application at some point, but you all encouraged me to hold on! During this waiting period, 3 gcms notes were ordered and the fourth one has been ordered as well. All the gcms notes received didn't have much info as eligibility was blank. Each time I got the gcms notes, I was always disappointed that eligibility was blank. Now that I think of it, I guess it's not a bad thing...

I just want to use this medium to thank everyone for their support through out this journey! This is a wonderful platform and we all draw strength and hope from one another! One thing that helped me during the long wait was seeing other people's approval postings. I was always encouraged by those success stories. I remember telling myself that my testimony was near when DD097 and demure got approved as we all applied around the same time and faced this delay..

In short, this is a wonderful platform and I hope more people get to know about the wonderful support we have here! Thanks to all the gurus and everyone that tries to assist others with their questions! If you have any questions for me , please feel free to ask here so others can learn from it ! I'm rooting for all my co- February applicants and any one with a delayed application and of course everyone on here , that you will all get a favourable response soon in Jesus name!

Cheers to more success stories ! grin

What of if you are not vaccinated?
What airline can we use?

Depends on when you are traveling and your final destination in Canada.

If you are not fully vaccinated and you travel on that route I recommended, you will be forced to quarantine at Montreal. And depending on your final destination it may alter your plans.

So if unvaccinated, it is better to book a flight that the first point of entry into Canada will be near the final destination.

Please a friend of mine put in her application on the 18th January,2021
She didn't do upfront medicals and she hasn't received the request since.
Because she has already put in the application, she can't go for an uprfront medicals.
she deferred to fall and the days are almost up.
What do you advice?
Thanks

She should go for Upfront Medicals. Submitting Application first doesn't stop her from doing the Medicals Upfront.
She should also order for her GCMS notes to find out what is going on with the application.

IT'S PPR!!!

LONG POST!!!!

MY GcKEY WATCH IS OVER!!!

#NairaLand Silent Reader Since 2018.

First and foremost, I want to thank God for this. The journey began in 2018, when I was finishing my Bsc in Malaysia. I applied to University of Calgary (Msc of Computer Science Thesis) 2018 after graduating with First Class in Malaysia, but UCalgary rejected me. In the same year, I applied to 5 different top universities and was rejected by all of them. Then, in 2020 I was so desperate, I applied to 10 top schools in different provinces and was rejected from all the 10. In my mind I was like, are they doing me from home?

I didnt give up, I didnt relent.

Congratulations..... Go and excel in Canada.
It ended in praise.....plus you were relentless, keep it up, it will take you far

Upfront medical are medical done before IRCC requests for it, so she can do an upfront medical after application.
