Please guys i need your suggestions… so i know alady who got a job in a hospital in the Uk whilst she was still in Nigeria. After she arrived the uk she got a letter from her manager, and used this letter to open a bank account( definitely she had no bills or credit history at the time). But she was able to open the bank account with the letter and brp card.

Now another lady has also gotten a job in the uk as a doctor.upon arrival, she requested a letter from her HR to open a bank account. She was issued the letter but no bank seems to be accepting the letter. I find this very confusing.
They all keep demanding for a proof of address. She is currently still squatting with a friend if not her best bet would have been her tenancy agreement.

Please does anyone know whats best for her to do?? Or how does she go about the whole bank account issue

She can open monzo account , that's what I did .Monzo is an online bank and she will just fill in her friends address in the online registration she will not even need an employer evidence

I hope this brief mini-adventure helps and informs someone's future decision or dealings with the NHC London.

There have been lots of stories and opinions about passport renewal in the UK. A few of them were positive while many (if not most) reviews were shocking and sad. So, I was prospectively dreading the process should it be my time to renew.

If I had other viable choices, perhaps, I would have considered them. But going back to Nigeria because of passport renewal was a big NO for me.

I applied for my renewal on the 23rd of December, 2020 via the Innovate1 platform. However, little did I know that it won't be possible to pick an appointment date.

Wetin man pikin go do na...I paid; hoping and believing that I will be scheduled for an appointment really soon.

I was not surprised. My biometrics appointment was sent sooner than I expected...I am sure you are now surprised.

An email for biometrics dropped after 7 months��, precisely on the 21st of July (some waited 10 months before getting their appointment). No thanks to the pandemic and backlogs of application.
The biometrics was scheduled for 27th July, between 11am and 1pm. Though, a 2-week grace period was stated in the email, I was not ready to take chances.

Since I live in one of the towns in far Northwest England, I decided to be a bit creative and take a few risks (thanks to my better-half for encouraging me)

I booked a same day return train ticket to London for 27th July.
Left my house at about 5:10am and arrived London Euston at about 10:10am.

It was my second time in London��. The first was in 2019.
Booked a taxi straight to NHC... Wished I had trekked though��. We were just moving at snail speed (traffic lights at almost every 100m��). I can't begin to imagine the stress londoners driving a manual transmission go through in the city.

Got to NHC at about 10:48am. As expected, there were some mild naija drama outside the NHC office but nothing too serious. I was just happy to witness the drama as I missed a lot of it since I arrived the Queens land��.

I was ushered into the NHC as soon as the staff confirmed my documents were complete. The crowd I met inside almost discouraged me as I practically wanted to ditch the whole process; obviously thinking when it would be my turn for biometrics.

To be honest, the process was quite fast. I left there at about 12:43pm. New Passport to be posted within the next 2 weeks (fingers crossed).

London Palava

Thinking about what to do with my spare time, it was necessary to activate my sight-seeing genes. I walked around and visited the London Eye. The ice-cream sold by the frozen yoghurt van in that area get as e be sha.

From there, I moved to Thames Clippers , swiped my card and enjoyed about a 45-minute River Thames boat cruise to North Greenwich Peninsula (passing under the London Bridge, Tower bridge, showing us the tower of London, the Shard and other historic places).
Arriving at the peninsula, had to visit the O2, Emirates Air line cable and experienced some 4D Rollercoaster.

Then, I decided to take 2 bus rides (108 and 15) from the peninsula to Charring cross. From there, I moved to Trafalguar Square where I rested for a while��. It was there I also saw the National Gallery.

Finally walked back to London Euston station after window shopping. Train left Lodon Euston at 18:23. Arrived my humble abode at about 23:30.

Do I wanna live in London... NO! NO!! NO!!!�‍♂️�‍♂️�‍♂️�‍♂️�‍♂️�‍♂️�‍♂️
Let the Londoners continue the lord's work there.

Will I be visiting again.. YES! YES!! YES!!! Probably with the family this time.

Please for someone travelling with a skilled work visa,is there a time deadline between travel date and date the visa was issued. I heard someone say you can't stay more than 30days in Nigeria after you have been issued a visa,is this true please?

Personally used H2B and know others who did, it's accessible to everyone on visa with NRPF. Its basically an equity loan where government owns 20% of the home regardless, so not a loss in anyway rather a business to them, ofcourse they make a loss if there is negative Equity on the property.

Does it matter if they applied a week apart but do biometrics the same day? Will they collect the same day?

My situation.
I have just completed my PGCE and started a job in July. Back home I have my family waiting to join me (My husband and 2 boys). My organisation didn't give me the normal CoS doc, but I got all info needed for application. The school ticked maintenance so I do not need proof of funds.
Docs I uploaded ;
1. Passport data page
2. BRP both sides
3. Marriage cert, Change of name
4. IELTS TRF
5. My sons' birth cert.

I like to know if there is any other doc I have to upload before final submission.

You may use PagoFX probably as long as the dollar account is not domiciled in Nigeria . They have good rates.
I have used it before and very reliable.

Seniors please help my friend. My friend is in Edinburgh and she is looking for accommodation in Dalkeith EH22. She has used Zoopla and has gone for several viewing and at the end they landlord will give to another person. Please any landlord or letting agent for a sure accommodation plug should help out please.

Not familiar with the recent document list but ensure all the document listed on the generated checklist after visa application is submitted. That's the important bit. If they are coming from naija as well they would need TB test which is not on that list
