It's not always about the money. Some work just to keep fit and for social status not monetary reward. |

LagBlogger: Naso Hope you're aware that as an entrepreneur, you say "yes sir" even more than a salary worker. A salary worker only needs to call his superiors in the office "sir" but an entrepreneur go greet gateman, security, driver, houseboy and receptionist "yes sir" because he nor know who wan pay am. Keep deceiving yourself. The only set of people that don't say "yes sir" are yahoo boys & oloshos. Do you belong to that category?? 3 Likes |

Joysticks: Well, those CEOs and MDs went through those so-called stressful jobs before they bagged those top jobs. If you think you will conclude NYSC today & become a supervisor, then you must be mad. I'm not even going to sugarcoat it. Nonsense & entitlement mentality. 2 Likes |

Dukeolumidemans: Go and read the third or fourth relpy... Are you living a better life than those bank CEOs, head of government service and MDs of multinationals who still earn salary The fact that you are self employed doesn't mean you will condemn salary work. Salary work is not bad. It depends on what you are earning as salary. Its also OK to advice a low salary income earner to start a business and not condemn salary work completely. There are jobs and then there are JOBS. You don't expect the likes of Chamberlain Usoh, Seun Okinbaloye, etc of Channels TV and other top media houses to quit their jobs simply because they want to be entrepreneurs. These guys interview top government officials and other industries experts. At what point should a person quit a salary job? The answer is "at the point where you no longer find fulfilment in that job". Lack of fulfilment could be due to 1. Poor pay 2. Not learning new things 3. No hope of career growth 4. Lack of freedom, etc We all want to be the boss someday, but if being a subordinate gives me fulfilment, I'm in. 8 Likes 1 Share |

wagazala:Everyone is not cut out for business doesn't stop you from developing ways to be business savvy. Everything ones know was learnt here on earth. Although some people are highly gifted. I know people working for over 15 years - a graduate ( NCE, OND, HND, BSC, MSC) earning 50,000 per month in Lagos in this abysmal Buhari economy. Won't you advise that person to be cut out for business to augment their income? 4 Likes |

Madeu: Like i stated, neither is eveyone cut out for salary too. I know a Bsc holder earning 4m naira monthly as salary. What does he need business for? The guy earning 50k should either look for another job or look for business to do. I said it goes both ways. Find the one that suits you. Either ways, manage your funds well - thats what is important. 3 Likes |

Enginiaman1: I will respond only once: 1. Salary is good, it will give u an average lifestyle or what u consider rich, but profitability will skyrocket u to a much higher level giving the same time frame. 2. Wealth is born from dreams: Ur thought creates ur feelings, ur feelings creates ur actions but the quality of ur action determines the quality of ur results.. 3. If ur asked to choose between a job and a business, most will choose a job. The correct answer is choosing a business because a business will create a fortune for u with time. I can go on and on but if ur poor in ur mind, u might never never understand what I will be saying. Iv done the same for myself by resigning from a well paying bank job and creating mine from the scratch. Most people said the samething ur saying 5yrs years ago but today they hide when they see me. Iv not only made myself rich, I also made my elder brother and eldest sister rich by showing them the samething am sharing with u now. Over 500 are rich today through me... In summary, people need various goods and services. Think of one and provide it with style and a big difference and u will become rich with time. As u make ur bed, so will u lie on it. Wealth is not in places, it's in people.. 2 Likes |

You can never compare a salary job to a real business, no matter what you think about. How many workers get to that MD,Ministers etc. Or even get to work in a government parastatals. DoggoneDogg: 3 Likes |

DoggoneDogg: Romanoff: Honestly, that's not good enough. If you are working and receiving the kind of huge salary that those people are receiving, you still don't need to wait until they purse you. Because after your retirement, you might not know what next! There was this white man working with BP, a top boss for that matter. Coronavirus struck last year and he was asked to go like few others. You knew what he did? He committed suicide! Because he didn't see that coming. No matter the kind of salary you're earning, prepare your own exit and get ready to leave before they ask you to leave. Don't wait till 65 or the agreed last day. I have been telling my brother the same thing for the past 5 years and asking him about his future plan because the last day in office is slowly approaching. 2 Likes |

Focusmind: Welcome on board bro. Nothing better than being able to spend your day the way you want, set your own pace, when to work and when to sleep. I worked with Dangote Cement Transport for just five months, I nearly developed stomach ulcer among other things. I wanted to quit but the fear of family and friends tagging one "unserious fellow" wouldn't let me. The man finally sacked us (about 800 employees) after cleaning his garbage and I was about the only employee who was happy for being sacked! I'm glad that I choose this current path. 1 Like |
