They will not remain 23 forever, they will grow with the new idea/ vision, and when they are old or tired or have new ideas of their own,
hopefully new ones will takeover from them.

Roland, how should a manager deal with a rude/disrespectful player or one that is not playing to instruction? beg him? counsel him? pamper him? I don't think so. I as a manager will bench your as.s and find a replacement for you, and if you don't adjust I show you the exit. There should be many better than you to replace you. I pray Saka and ESR will not misbehave cos I love those kids....but if they should, then they will have to find their way out while Arteta remains. It is that simple.

It applies in all aspect of life and business.... I used to have a brilliant staff, he was really very good...but I think the praises got to his head, then he partially disobeyed my instructions, When I queried him, he sounded disrespectful...Maybe he thought I couldn't do without him, so I suspended him. When he came back, he came back with an attitude and his performance dropped.... I sacked him and found another to do his job and I have no regret till date.

Honestly, I don't know any good manager that will condone disrespect from his players.... I know Guardiola won't, Mourinho won't so I dont expect Arteta to, even if he is the worst manager in the league... His position deserves only respect from his players. If anyone wants to succeed as a subordinate/player, he/she must obey all the laws of power.

Bro, this is a team and not a military camp where orders are marshalled and people are court marshalled for having an opinion. When Guen's issue happened, I was the first to say I would have frozen him out of the team until he apologized and if that does not happen, trade him! That brings me to Saliba..What exactly was Saliba's crime? This is a genuine question I am asking you. Where was Saliba disrespectful? Even Arteta acknowledged Saliba deserved to be treated better considering what he has endured in his personal ife with losses and injuries?

Here is the full quote of Saliba's comment“It is clear that so much has changed in the last year. “When I saw that the coach changed, a lot changed for me too. In this year there has been a lot of change. He judged me on two-and-a-half matches. I would have liked for him to play me more. But he told me I wasn’t ready. “I was waiting for him to give me a chance, but football is like that. When I initially came to Arsenal the league looked very good so I showed up to training and wanted to train on my own to show the coach I was ready. “I am happy now, I want to play for Nice. The idea when you’re part of a team is a better feeling for me.”

This 19 (at the time) year old was desperately waiting and yearning for Arteta's approval after the coaching change and what has Arteta done in public about him? Arteta has thrown the kid under the bus several times during press conferences without even spending a time with him. Arteta never visited this kid while he was on loan and when he returned, Arteta never had a single conversation with him except the one where he told him he was not ready. The kid just wanted to feel like a member of the team! This is nothing but a power trip by Arteta! We have never heard or read anything about a Saliba/ Arteta interaction. The U-23 games he played, Arteta never watched anyone himself!

Luiz nearly led a coup against him during the season along with senior players, we heard rumors of clashes between the senior players and Arteta but this same Arteta offered Luiz an extension which Luiz declined..thank God. So what are we talking about? Do you think the young players are not seeing how he is failing to hold the senior players accountable? Arteta did this same crap with Pepe, thank goodness Pepe chose to keep it under wraps. Hoping Saka and ESR don't get disrespectful is not a good way to hope he manages issues because it does not assure anything. Arteta would rather play a useless and fat Willian over giving a Nelson a run in a cup competition and now he is offering Nelson an extension which Nelson has turned down! Would that be considered disrespectful? You think those young gunners are not watching?

As a manager or leader in any capacity, you must be open to handling different personalities, conflict resolution and individualized man management. Throwing your team under the bus to protect your image and punishing younger ones who talk by selling them is no way to gain respect. Team dynamics are very important and they never occur because of a perfect team because healthy conflict is an integral aspect of a successful team.

I have been privileged to lead people in different capacities, in different spheres of life and it is important to note that being a manager does not necessary mean you are a leader! Baba, I have seen it all when it comes to managing people from diverse backgrounds and personalities and have made some tough decisions. If you follow some of my posts closely you will see I don't joke with leadership. Infact, a leader can be the weakest link in your group. Your team can see you as a manager because you are their but not their leader.

Sorry for the long post everyone grin

Whao! So many info I never heard of here... Especially the coup plan. cheesy

Anyway different people have different approach to same issue. But Arteta doesn't have to visit all players on loan na. And videos of all the matches are available for Arteta to watch and judge. Also Saliba was not the only one sent out on loan na... Why na him get big mouth? And telling him to go on loan is not throwing him under bus. It means get more experience and prove yourself. Even better than sitting and warming the bench.

We were not there and we really don't know how many conversations they had. And if Arteta feels the boy is not ready or fit for his plan, then let's respect that, than judging the coach over a player emotional outburst. After all Arteta is the 1st to get the stick when the team fail.

I have nothing against Saliba, I think he is a good defender, though not seeing him as a fantastic defender either... judging by his few matches I watched, and I am also no Arteta fan, but these managers see these players more than us especially at the training... and they know them more than we fans... So when the managers make decisions I don't understand or that looks stupid... I give them the benefits of knowing better until the results show otherwise.

If Arteta continue the new season the way he ended the last few matches of last season, we might be in for a better season. So for now I will stand with him.

I understand. But not when it comes to the issue of racism. It's a no go area. It's a crime. One must have to speak up and speak out. My point is I don't like gossip or castigation.

When it comes to rift between leader and subordinate, it is the later that must show restraints, no matter who is right or wrong. After that the analysis begins. Saliba questioning his boss' ability/judgement publicly is insubordination. That's not even like he is van Dyke or better than all the defenders we have. Let's assume his being sent on loan is a punishment, it is not even proportional. A lot of players are sent on loan, Odegaard was with us last season from Madrid, same as Ceballos for more than a season. They took it and moved on. Public criticism of your boss is a red line and a red flag.

Gini wanted more money lfc didn't give him he started nagging
There's nothing stopping him from doing same to Paris, thank God lfc have plenty black players he could have played the race card

Dem come late!

I have been preaching Patino's gospel since last year, I even asked for him to be included in the preseason games. Another one is Kido Taylor Hart.

Well, for issues like this, very few players wants such attention. They've weighed it all and the cam and blitz for negative news, as they see it, doesn't work it for them. Very few can do it.

As for Gini wanting more, that's an angle. But i won't lie, very few want to talk out and if they do, its cos they've damned the consequences coming. The other side of football!!

It won't happen. We are not signing any striker this TW. In fact the only signing apart from White will be a goalkeeper.

If this ends up being the case, then the club management is still not ready to grow the club beyond where Wenger left it. It means they are okay with just playing EPL (and not competing for any good finish), FA cup(getting to the quarter/semi finals and insha Allah), and Carabao cup (then allow Arteta's former boss win his personal cup)

Why did you think they are sharing big numbers to young players? Saka 7, ESR 10 and most likely Martinelli will get 11? It's because there hope all depends on those lads shining.

If we couldn't get an AM last season why we didn't have any, why would you think we will get one when we have ESR?

TW has ended. The best we can't do is GK.

I also noticed they gave Martinelli's jersey to that huge young lad...So na to just go pray make these boys grow to become men within the shortest possible time sad.

Well, I don't have a problem with parading young players, I'm just bothered they may burn out even before december period when we have to play so many matches within few days. I also hope injury doesn't disrupt martinelli's transition into the starting line-up

lol. How are you even sure we are going to get either of the two including Aour?

I am suspecting the reason they have not sold Willock or send him back on loan despite Newcastle screaming for the guy's signature is because they wanna use him instead.

I can only wish them good luck hoping the improvement we saw from Willock at Newcastle is real and genuine.
