When you have mastered a trade, skill or a specialist in certain field

when I started my corporate work at 25, I told myself that I would have my own hustle by 40. The stress that investment banking work brought on me was too much. Waking up by 4:30am and coming back by 10pm. The rat race was simply too much and was taking so much on my mental and emotional well being, even though the pay package and other emoluments were good.It provided me with all the necessities of life and I was financially doing relatively ok.

I registered my own consulting company by the side and was waiting when the side hustle could pay at least 50% of my total salary. That never came to pass as the Solo Consulting space itself is even competitive. Most jobs came through referral. I never got any consulting job based on submission of application. By 2016, I couldn't take it again and resigned to face my solo consulting. This is the fifth year and, I am yet to gross the annual salary I enjoyed when I was still working.

Any regret? No. I have my peace, wake up at my own time, visit my parents and enjoy good moments with loved ones during the weekends without considering the impending coming Monday. I am on my bed typing this, reviewing a document sent to me by a client. My mental and physical health is top-notch and I have developed myself beyond my imagination. Money wise, I am still far from getting what my corporate employment paid but I am far happier now than when I was working in the bank.

I love your feedback man. This is inspirational

My point is that it's still very possible to have better achievements working for yourself than working for even the best company in the world.
When you work for a company, there will be a limit to what you can achieve; but you are limitless when you are your own boss!

Business is not for everyone. I know the impact that man has made in CBN. He's retiring soon but you can't say he's not successful.

Salaried job is not for everyone either.
He may be successful, but you and I know very well that "success" has levels.

I will respond only once:
1. Salary is good, it will give u an average lifestyle or what u consider rich, but profitability will skyrocket u to a much higher level giving the same time frame.
2. Wealth is born from dreams: Ur thought creates ur feelings, ur feelings creates ur actions but the quality of ur action determines the quality of ur results..
3. If ur asked to choose between a job and a business, most will choose a job. The correct answer is choosing a business because a business will create a fortune for u with time.

I can go on and on but if ur poor in ur mind, u might never never understand what I will be saying. Iv done the same for myself by resigning from a well paying bank job and creating mine from the scratch. Most people said the samething ur saying 5yrs years ago but today they hide when they see me. Iv not only made myself rich, I also made my elder brother and eldest sister rich by showing them the samething am sharing with u now. Over 500 are rich today through me...
In summary, people need various goods and services. Think of one and provide it with style and a big difference and u will become rich with time. As u make ur bed, so will u lie on it. Wealth is not in places, it's in people..
Congratulations, but next time there is no need of telling us how you made 500 becoming rich, that makes you childish and prideous,if everyone were like you,I can't imagine what dangote will be saying now.
Enjoy what works for you, PEACE!

What's wrong with start your own business and STILL WORKING?

Many of those men have their own businesses incase you don't know. Inshort, all of them.

That's good. As long as it's convenient for them.
