There's a lot of games to be played and most of the youngsters you're watching will go out on loan so, we need a 3rd team (so to say) to play the Caraboa Cup and the team will be made up of those youngsters who are not sent on loan and a few experienced players who are surplus to requirement but still with us...

Whatever happens when the season starts, I don't want to hear any excuse from ole about lack of pre season, I go curse am, even though I'm ole in, 70% of the time.

It's obvious that he granted those guys extended holiday. The only guys that I expected to resume late are the English players that reached final. The rest should have resumed as late as last week, or two days ago(Monday)

Even Varane we bought resumed pre season with Madrid on Monday, before his transfer, but Pogba is still somewhere in America, playing basketball, and they both played the same team at Euros

All will resume at Carrington on Monday.

Practically all those youth midfielders are going on loan. Matic is considering leaving for Serie A, Lingard might leave in order to fight for a World Cup place, Mata is a pensioner, Pogba might leave.

Right now the only senior midfielders that seem certain to be here when the season starts are McFred and VDB. Just 2 senior midfielders.

That line of argument was quite ridiculous which is why i didn't get involved. Almost all the clubs are complaining of being cash strapped which has affected transfer fees and player movement. It even posed an existential threat to many small clubs (e.g Arsenal) who were begging the government for handouts and even asking players to take a pay cut.
