Pictures of five prospective Corps members that lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident, while on their way to the orientation camp in Katsina, have emerged, Newspremises reports.

The NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, who confirmed the incident said the fatal motor accident occurred around 2am on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, along the Abaji/Kwali Expressway.


They are said to be graduates of the University of Uyo and Akwa Ibom Poly. One of them has been identified as Miracle Asuquo.

Well the real tragedy is the lack of sensible adults to advice them against embarking on such a perilous trip.

Northen Youths barely leave their home state to serve. Infact they are all domiciled in Abuja or their state of origin.

But Southern Youths will be moved from Rivere State to Libya just to serve an incompetent nation.

I thought I was the only one thinking in this direction. How can you leave Uyo in the present day Nigeria to start embarking on a trip to Katsina? For what stupid NYSC? How can a graduate not have common sense? Were they blind to the insecurity everywhere? The accident actually happened at night and all of them were just sitting in there without stopping the driver to look for a place and sleep. We're just too terrible in this country. The driver they trusted could navigate them even in the dark has killed them all now. Who's now stupid? I don't understand these people, please.

A major problem the South has is how it underestimates the North. I live in the USa and interact with Mexicans that speak only spanish, folks from all over the world that have accents and do not speak good english, but you learn to communicate with them. I am from the North, i served in Akwa Ibom, i lived in a remote village for a greater part of the time. I interacted with folks that spoke only Ibibio, the Secondary school students could not express themselves well in English, i taught them, interacted with them learnt some Ibibio and I am better for it. It prepared me for my current life in USA where i interact with folks from all over the world.

If NYSC should be scrapped it shouldn't be because of this sad news. University students, traders etc have died in motor crashes when going to the school or market. "Every Prophet of Allah came to this world as a witness, or aharbinger of good tidings, or as a warner, or as a summonner, but never in the past there came a prophet who combined all these qualities. There were witnesses to Allah's majesty and, overlordship, like Jacob, Issac and Ishmael. Others like Abraham and Jesus were the heralds of glad tidings. There were also warners like Noah, Hud, and Shu'yeb, the main point of their warnings was terrible punishment awating the evil-doers. Then, there were the prophets like Joseph and Jonah whose teachings set the tone for those who summon to divine guidance.
