alright we shall help our brother build his laptop powerbank virtually

building a laptop powerbank steps.

1. find out how long to power the laptop.

he said 15 hours

calculate how many watts it is.

1 laptop power is 66 watts for one hour.

energy consumed in 15 hours is

P equals 15 x 66 which is 990 watts.

approx 1000 watts.

now you cant use up all the battery
we need to add 30% as loss during charging or cable connections or heat.

so P is 1000watts + 300 watts
P is 1300watts.

we should make it 1500watts. to be balanced.

So we are building a 1500 watts power bank for him

we need to know how many of these battery he need.

fairly used 18650 carries 4.v 1.6a

i mean for 1 of laptop battery.

therefore
let us get the no of battery amp needed.


power we need 1500watts
battery voltage needed is 12v or 24v. but lets use 24v. i have my reason.

battery power 1500watts
battery voltage 24volts

battery current is unknown ?

so remember that
p equal Current X volts

current equals power/voltage

1500 / 24 equals
62.5 amps

we need 24v 62.5 amp battery pack

if 1 battery is 1.6a.

62.5/ 1.6 equals 40 pieces of battery in PARALLEL at 24volts


IF 1 battery is 4.2volts.

how many battery shall we add to give 12volts ?
that's 3 battery in series.



how many battery we shall add to give 24 volts? that's 6 battery pairs.

my friend, you need 240 battery pieces.

40 X 6 TO GIVE 24 VOLTS 1500 watts

where they sell fairly used computer things . you can search your state.

depends on the state you are.

lagos , abuja, onitsha, nothern state etc.

take a picture of it on your phone and enter electrical / computer repair line. show it to them.

they can direct you.

35-39g average battery

Less than 34grams poor batteries

Ensure you check the voltage with multimeter.

Most cells here weigh 45g.

Volts is around 3.9volts.

Some are 4volts.

thank God All my electrical components have arrived successfully.

i purchased Step Down converter. since im building my laptop 24volts.

my laptop voltage is 19.2v

so i will step down from 24 to 19 volts.
