irijuola: From your write-up, it shows that you have dental insurance coverage in place. Is this procedure not covered under your plan? My wife had 2 of her wisdom teeth removed and it was all covered by our dental insurance. I will suggest that you reach out to your dental insurance providers to confirm if that procedure is covered in your plan or not. If it is not fully covered, it may at least be partially (between 50% to 90%) covered. You never can tell. 3 Likes 1 Share |

irijuola: It's advisable to do dental stuff in Nigeria. Our dentists are actually good especially in govt hospitals and there's a lot of ripoff here: you don't know if you actually have a problem, or if they just want to chop your money. Solution is having employer paid health insurance that'll cover like 80%. Alternate solution is you might qualify for provincial coverage for such if you're below the poverty line. Another solution is checking if the dental schools or colleges in your city have a program whereby students will work on your teeth for practice. Usually quite cheaper. PS: sorry about the toothache. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

19CannyMum:The quote for 4 removals is clearly a rip-off. Typically, dentists would remove the tooth deserving the most urgent attention or maybe 2. Sometimes, removing just 2 solves the problem. I know there are a few cases of 4, but I've never seen that before. When no be the whole mouth dey pain... |

irijuola: Lol it's normal for new arrivals to be below the poverty line. Because they'll work with your last year's taxes. And by the time you convert that money you earned in Nigeria that you thought was big, you'll find yourself getting referrals to food banks in Canada. 6 Likes 1 Share |

CountVersailles: Sometimes the whole wisdom teeth extraction it's not even necessary. Anyway I know someone that dentist recommended she remove all her teeth because she complained of sensitivity 4 Likes |

maralina:No, it's not too early to travel. As long as he has his visa and a place to stay when he arrives Canada, nobody can tell him not to travel. 1 Like |

Presently, there is a rule for international students not to come until 4 weeks (or less) to resumption. You can check on the canadabstudy visa thread. A lot of people have been prevented from boarding because of this. maralina: 4 Likes |

kunbeeee: I am suprised she asked this question here when she follows the student thread, read how others were turned back too including the recent guy and also shared when her brother was refused boarding. The one month rule stands just as u stated correctly. 2 Likes |

CountVersailles:Bros it is too early cos he must come in exactly one month to start of classes or less. That date is 5days more than a month airlines wont allow him board. Am a living proof to this. I was not allowed to board and i had to pay 409k to reschedule my date thanks to wakanow for the exorbitant date change price 1 Like |
