Resolute5ter: If you have sent this message via a mobile phone, laptop or desktop from Nigeria ; if you have heard of Nigerians selling their ideas and apps for millions of dollars ; and you are asking if computer science is valuable in Nigeria? Brother, you need to check if everything is alright with you or better still seek knowledge cos you are asking questions that even a grandfather should not ask. What exactly is pitiable about it in Nigeria? that you dont have courses? you dont have lecturers? or you dont have good curriculum .....If it is so "pitiable in Nigeria" there are millions of free online courses to enrol for, what effort have u even made for yourself as a student?? |

BigDawsNet:Honestly, I want to go into Cyber security but am not much of a programmer, I actually don't like it that much cause am into more of Graphics but it's just that I want to learn Cybersecurity . How do I go about it ? |
Re: Bsc In Computer Science, Is It Still A Lucrative Degree? by BigDawsNet: 8:58am On Aug 02, 2021 |
Tolzy11: The majority of entry-level cybersecurity jobs do not require coding skills. However, being able to write and understand code may be necessary for some mid-level and upper-level. So for a start...you don't need to be a programmer...but if you looking to go deep in cyber security...you will have to learn some language at some point... Somedy you will grow to become a Cybersecurity analyst...and your job will be to protects company hardware, software, and networks from cyber criminals by cracking and hacking a malicious virus transferred by the criminal to your organization systems... 1 Like |

BigDawsNet:Thanks for the info, I appreciate. So what are the basis of Cybersecurity that doesn't need much coding skill ? |
Re: Bsc In Computer Science, Is It Still A Lucrative Degree? by BigDawsNet: 9:13am On Aug 02, 2021 |
Tolzy11: Firstly you need to start with introduction since you have no experience... Find a program/course on introduction to Cyber security... I can actually help you get one at Open University UK...you will need to take the course for some week and sit for exam online...make a 75% mark then you get a certificate from Open University UK... Can get you the link but I'm going back to bed now ..so if you can wait ..will get the link and forward it to you later in the day. 2 Likes |

Re: Bsc In Computer Science, Is It Still A Lucrative Degree? by BigDawsNet: 2:13am On Aug 03, 2021 |
Tolzy11: I'm not sure if you currently studying computer Science But in C/S, Graphics and programming is a sperate field on its own . A Computer Scientist decides to either be a programmer or graphics designer, or probably be both If you choose the path to be a graphic designer...after few years you will find it not hard but too lazy to navigate to programming because you can always make your logo without cracking ur brains... The truth is, Phyton is not hard but your brain and motives is trying to dodge something challenging So dedicate your mind bro and take up the challenge Lastly pls don't depend on self taught...it's like a punishment Find a physical mentor around you...he/she will guild you and motivates you... 1 Like |

Tolzy11: If you can self taught...that will be great and easy for you...but if you have questions don't hesitate to ask an IT expert around you... No skipping...if you don't get it...seek for answers 1 Like |
