Enough with the blame game, the past is the past. What can the leaders do today to Jumpstart economy now? How can they provides jobs? How can businesses flourish in 2021? Nigeria cannot be dependent on oil revenue and continue with bad electricity and infrastructure if we want to move forward. Please we need a business man as president and people with business ideas to run the country.

It is a well known fact that by the time GEJ handed over the economy was in bad shape. NOI was already warning of recession, whoever won in 2015, and the oil price was already going down, and eventually hit rock bottom.

But the problem was, Buhari did not do the things needed to improve the economy

1.Remove subsides. Instead, we kept on spending, and spending and spending on subsides, until right now we are at a point where we cannot spend on subsides anymore...

2.Remove price controls on the petroleum and power sector. By keeping those price controls, we lost a lot of potential investment that could have brought in jobs and more money.

3.Diversify the economy. Our agric sector is still based on subsistence farming, and we are not really improving our non-oil exports.

4.I am not seeing us becoming a nation that relies on industrial production. Instead, we are waiting for oil to go up again.

5.Tax revenue is very very poor. As at 2019, we tax just 30% of the taxable population, with a tax to gdp ratio of 6.1%

All in all, APC is just what has been done before. No change, nothing.

Oil prices were also higher under Jonny boy...plus we were draining our forex reserves to pay for subsides among other things.

A lot of free dollars were flowing around. Naturally the dollar would exchange for lower vs the naira.

Besides, we still were reliant on oil. And once the oil prices dropped, as they did from 2014, the naira was going to drop.

There was a time when N1=$1...WHICH was back during the oil boom era of the 1973-82 period. Once oil prices crashed in 1982, dollars rose till it reached N7 BY 1989
